Day 6 : Psychotherapy – It's no secret: Pietro's a tortured individual. His most famous comic book scene is his therapy session with Doc Samson. He's also been known to switch from hero to villain pretty regularly. Here's your chance to take a crack at Pietro's psyche. (Here's a suggestion, since I realize this theme might be difficult for fan art: Draw him being haunted by his Chthon-possessed self)

This is my take for day 6 of Quicksilver Week. I choose to explore Quicksilver's thoughts on Luna and his bloodline during X-ANXF.

…..

Lorna lowered her face towards the coffee in her hands so as to hide the fact she was smiling. Her attention remained on the other side of the shared X-Factor's living quarters where Quicksilver was reading with his newly arrived daughter Luna.

It has been a week since her niece had suddenly graced X-Factor's headquarters at Serval Industries. Pietro seem almost cheerful and Remy had toned down his cutting remarks in front of the children.

All in all, it made for a more peaceful aka manageable team and thus one happy team leader Lorna Dane.

Although, Lorna noticed that Pietro tend to ask his daughter if Crystal had requested her return to the Inhumans. Understandable enough, they needed to know but when it becomes a daily habit it felt wrong somehow to Lorna.

She could see the love Pietro has for her niece but it felt wrong to her that as Luna's other parent that her half-parent was like a pauper seeking alms of his daughter's time and love from his spouse. Heavens know, Crystal was equally at fault for the failure of the marriage.

Thus she decided once Luna was elsewhere to speak with Pietro alone.

Which was how they found themselves facing each other across the table in awkward silence.

'I do not understand, Pietro. I know you love Luna dearly, so why do you allow Crystal to dictate when and how often you see your own daughter.'

The speedster merely hid his face in the shadows of the hoodie he had taken to wearing in his casual time. Pietro's hands stuffed into the pockets, shoulders hitched up defensively. However he had yet to speak.

'Do you fear the Inhumans? If yes, perhaps we could get the Fantastic Four to mediate on your behalf. Reeds Richard would understand the feelings of a father to see his offspring.'

'No Lorna, please don't. The truth is…I been wondering if it would be better for Luna to see less of me in her formative years.'

Lorna stilled, caught in flashbacks of her youth. Whispers of relatives who mutter phrases like 'she is better off not knowing her father', 'that girl is a bad seed she is' and a young Lorna started to question if there any truth to their words. Then there was the wondering, the endless wondering of what could have been. No, as far as Lorna was concern, no one should grow up not knowing who their father is.

Quickly, Lorna pulled herself out of her thoughts. She straightened as she spoke. 'Rubbish, that is not your decision alone. I think you should let Luna decide. She is your daughter.'

In the next moment, she had a white-haired speedster right up to face. 'THAT is the problem Lorna!'

Pietro stared at her a frantic tone laced his voice. Lorna quickly stepped back to give herself face from Quicksilver. She was surprised but forged on 'That she is your daughter? How is that a problem?'

Quicksilver vanished and re-appeared at opposite corner of the room. He hugged himself as he muttered. 'I am scare Lorna. She is my daughter, the same blood that floods in me and my sister who committed mutant genocide, the blood of the terrorist Magneto who murders humans also floods in her vein.'

Lorna was about to point out that she had it too except Pietro's next sentence caught her off guard.

'What if, one day the cursed blood in her veins caught up with her. And she would do something unforgivable probably against her own will. It keeps me awake at night. I thought I could outrun his influence but I am perhaps now an even bigger sinner than him.'

Here Pietro looked up and his stare was so hard, Lorna saw Magus in that instance.

Pietro drew closer, this time at normal speed which would have been a crawl to him.

Taking one of Lorna's hand, he asked in a harsh whisper as if they were sharing a secret. 'Do YOU not wonder?'

Lorna felt all the blood drained from her face. Weakly she patted Pietro's hand. 'You do not know that will happen.'

Pietro gave her a sad smile. 'Exactly, we do not know. So perhaps if I keep further away from her. Perhaps she might avoid the cursed fate of our blood.'

To that Lorna did not have an answer.
