Those two are fighting each other for control of the God Quarry, and if either one of them gains control over it, they'll become the most unstoppable being in the universe! My father and Master Hand have a plan. They'll breach the God Quarry themselves and conquer both the light and darkness within Battleworld. Good luck, dad. Come back to me.

Issue 17: Light and Dark (Part 2) – Way to the Dawn

Inside the Quarry of Creation

The Collector and Master Hand successfully arrive in the pocket dimension behind the barrier of the God Quarry. An endless realm completely infused with ISO-8. A well that serves as a source of infinite power. The heart of Battleworld itself. The two cosmic beings land on a crystalized platform while it travels through three different nebulae: a cream-colored one with a black hole, a green one with psychedelic crystalline objects floating in the background, and a fiery orange one partially obscured by blue clouds.

"We've arrived at the end of all things. The source well of creation itself!" Master Hand proclaimed.

Collector looks at the background constantly shifting between light and darkness, "As we figured, the God Quarry has been tainted by the constant struggle between Galeem and Dharkon. We must cleanse it immediately if we want the Champions to succeed in beating them!"

BGM-Super Smash Bros. Ultimate OST-Final Destination

Suddenly, two massive armies teleport to the platform with the cosmic beings. One is an army of Light Puppets, and the other is an army of Dark Puppets. Both armies confront the Elder and Hand while simultaneously fighting the opposing army in the obvious clash between light and darkness.

"Puppets of Galeem and Dharkon! Begone!" Master Hand shouted, firing his powerful laser nails at both armies.

Collector sends out a powerful wave of energy that sweeps up dozens of puppets, "They must've noticed us! Do not hold anything back, Master Hand! We must defeat all of them if we're to conquer this realm of its light and darkness!"

"You are aware that, should we fail this trial, we'll be frozen for eternity in this realm's ageless walls." Master Hand warns his partner of the consequence of losing within the God Quarry, while slapping more clones.

"I know that! I just didn't say anything before to worry Carina! But we WILL succeed and gain the power necessary to defeat the devils that have made her suffer!" Collector retorts while attacking an army of puppets with mighty concussive blasts.

Master Hand snaps his fingers to daze a group of puppets, allowing Collector to blast them off the platform. The cosmic Elder then encases a large crowd in an energy sphere before throwing it at Master Hand to be caught. The cosmic Hand throws the sphere at his opponents and then shoots it with a finger bullet, causing the sphere to explode and knock out a huge portion of puppets. Master Hand slams down on more clones, but this gave the others the chance to swarm on him with their deadly attacks, causing great pain to the cosmic being.

"Unhand that Hand!" Collector fires two rapid and devastating cosmic blasts at the puppets, blasting them off his partner. Suddenly, the Elder was struck back by a puppet Thor and his hammer, and then repeatedly slash by Cloud clone, before being launched to his knees by a puppet Samus. Collector pants as he starts to rise back to his feet and confront an immense horde of puppet fighters approaching him. "It would be wise to not underestimate an ELDER OF THE UNIVERSE!" He fires off a massive energy beam that launches most of the puppets away, while the rest are left stunned by a snap of Master Hand's fingers. Collector puts his hands together in front of him and concentrates, charging an immensely powerful cosmic energy sphere in his hands, "I have lived longer than BOTH of your masters combined, and thus have more experience wielding immense power such as the Power Primordial! Allow me the pleasure to show that power in action!"

The Collector raises the energy sphere to the air with both hands and unleashes its power, creating a massive explosion that illuminates the dimension entirely and seamlessly wipe out all of the puppets that have corrupted this realm with their presence. That attack has also helped cleanse this dimension of Galeem and Dharkon's respective influence, leaving the dimension in a permanent green void with the crystalized objects floating around.

"Good job, Collector. The Quarry has been purged of our enemies' corruption." Master Hand compliments his friend.

"It wouldn't have worked if you didn't stun them." Collector stated. "The trial is complete and both the light and darkness has been conquered. Now there is only one thing left that we require before leaving this realm."

At that moment, two cosmic spirits descend from the sky as one of them place themselves on the Collector's hand and the other on the palm of Master Hand. "And right on cue." Master Hand remarked.

"Excellent. These spirits will definitely give us an edge. Now let us leave and reunite with the Summoner." Collector stated, as the cosmic beings warp themselves out of the dimension.

Outside the Quarry of Creation

BGM-Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds OST-Fate of the World (3)

The battle of Battleworld rages on as the respective forces of Galeem, Dharkon, and the Champions continue to throw everything that they have in their disposal at their enemies. Both Galeem and Dharkon summoned their respective champions like Rathalos and Sentinel via spirits to do battle against the heroes and their rival's army. Baroness Peggy Carter clashes her shield against the summoned Red Minister while Mega Man battles the reborn Galleom. Samus blasts the eye of Yellow Devil while Ness unleashes a PK Starstorm at a flying Marx and Blackheart. Wolverine pops his claws while lunging to face Dracula in his second form. Baroness Queen Shuri shoots blasts of sonic energy at Killmonger, who dodges it. Blake was quickly defeated by a clone of Red Goblin, until he was kicked out of his glider by Symbiote Cinder. Cloud effortlessly destroys the Sentinel, while Giant Luigi works together with Stark Prime, Crazy Hand and Queen Pandora to defeat the revived Master Technovore. Bowser and Ganondorf work together in an intense brawl as they collide fists against the resurrected Baron Apocalypse, all while Doctor Strange works alongside Mewtwo, Diddy Kong, Grandmaster and King Dedede to defeat the revived Symbiote Supreme. While Giga Bowser and Ganon trade massive blows, the big turtle was defeated by Ryu's Shin Shoryuken while the giant pig was defeated by Ken's Shinryuken simultaneously. And while Duck Hunt runs away from the roaring Rathalos, he was saved when Pac-Man shows up in his 2D form and effortlessly eat the dragon in one bite.

Somewhere else in the chaotic battlefield, Loki meets up with the Ancient One, Spider-Man, Mario, and Carina while they were taking down a group of enemies with their respective abilities. "You, Ancient One!" Loki shouts, getting the sorcerer's attention. "You once said that in one out of fourteen million, we win. Tell me this is it." He requested, recalling their earlier conversation regarding the end result of this war back at the Temple of Light.

"What is he talking about?" Carina asked the Ancient One, who just silently looks at her for a strange moment before looking at Loki.

"If I tell you what happens, it won't happen." The Ancient One replied.

"You better be right." Loki responded, visually displeased and annoyed with that cryptic answer.

But then out of nowhere, the entire battlefield was struck by a violent earthquake. An earthquake so dreadfully powerful that it's affecting Battleworld, simultaneously halting any and every all activity across the planet as they question this sudden tremor. "Where did this earthquake come from all of a sudden?" Spidey questioned.

"This energy…It's coming from within the God Quarry." Ancient One stated.

"DAD!" Carina exclaims as she worriedly stares at the quarry where her father and Master Hand dived into earlier. The rift into the God Quarry shakes with tremendous amounts of energy that becomes too much for Battleworld to handle. Cracks appear in the skies of both the Light and Dark Realms until they completely shatter into pieces, replacing the divided sky with one beautiful golden backdrop.

BGM-Super Smash Bros. Ultimate OST- The Final Battle: After the Transformation

Galeem's Army. Dharkon's Army. The Champions' Army. Everyone was equally surprised when they saw the Battleworld was transformed and was no longer divided between light and darkness. "The Light and Dark Realms. They have been vanquished." A shocked Loki commented.

Carina smiles, "It's my dad! He and Master Hand must've did it! But where are they?"

"We're right here, Carina!" Collector responded, suddenly warping himself and Master Hand to her location.

Spider-Man says to the Elder, "The light and darkness. You mean…?"

Collector nods in response, "Correct. They have been conquered! The God Quarry has been purged of their influence! We now stand on even ground with Galeem and Dharkon!"

"But we have collected an edge from within the God Quarry that'll FINALLY help us destroy them for good." Master Hand stated, as he and Collector reveal their cosmic spirits to the group.

"Are those spirits?" Spider-Man questioned.

"The Ultimate Spirits. With a power that you are familiar with." Collector corrected him. "These spirts are the manifestation of the universe itself! The Guardians of Eternity, the sum of all life, and is thus responsible for protecting all life in existence. They will only bond to the greatest of heroes when the universe faces great peril. You and Mario have proven repeatedly to be among the greatest of heroes in the cosmos. Use these spirits and save all worlds!" He explained to the greatest heroes, Spider-Man and Mario.

Spidey simply shrugs with a quip, "What the hay? As long as it's not a symbiote."

BGM-Sonic Advance 3 OST-EX Demo 2

Both Spider-Man and Mario accept the spirits from Collector and Master Hand respectively and absorb them, transforming them into cosmic beings of unlimited power through a bright flash of light. Spider-Man's costume turns mostly white around the legs while his upper torso turns black and his mouth area remains red. The black portion of his costume comes with weirdly-shaped lines connecting to the dots and has tiny white star-like spots all over that area, partially giving him the appearance of a starry night sky. Mario's new outfit looks similar to Spider-Man's, consisting of a new white shirt, a starry blue cap along with starry blue overalls with connecting white buttons, black gloves, and black shoes.

The transformed Spider-Man stares at his hands while recognizing this transformation, "Whoa. This power! I recognize this. We just became Captain Universe! I'm sure we'll have no problem taking care of Galeem and Dharkon now. Let's say we finish this!" He declared to his partner.

"Let's-a-go!" The newly transformed Cosmic Mario said determinedly, while Cosmic Spider-Man responds with a nodding thumbs up before the cosmic duo fly to the sky.

BGM-Super Smash Bros. Ultimate OST-Battle Against Light and Dark

At the stratosphere above the planet, the massive wings of Galeem collide with the colossal tentacles of Dharkon as both cosmic entities clash so fiercely against each other that they respectively radiate massive auras of light and darkness that covers their side of the sky. Super Sonic and Cosmic Yang suddenly zoom into the scene, as the hedgehog hits Galeem's orb with a spin attack while the huntress smashes Dharkon's eye with a powerful punch.

Both heroes relent and regroup with the rest of their team that have joined this final fight consisting of Super Shadow, Silver Surfer Kirby, Thor, Cosmic Gamora, Palutena, Phoenix Zelda, Pokemon Trainer riding on his giant Ultra Necrozma, and Bayonetta riding on her massively summoned Madama Butterfly.

"Hey! Remember us?! We're enjoying this party too, ya know!" Super Sonic taunted the massive godlike creatures.

"Mind if WE crash this party?" quipped Cosmic Spider-Man, as he and Cosmic Mario suddenly appear in front of their friends at the stratosphere.

"By Odin's beard!" Thor reacts in shock while realizing that both Spidey and Mario have become Captain Universe.

Palutena also noticed their transformation with a gasp of shock and remarks, "Spidey! Mario! Have you two become…?"

"That's right! We've became Captains of the Universe, baby!" Cosmic Spider-Man flexed.

"You're as amazing as ever, Webs! Have a plan?" Cosmic Yang grins in glee while looking at her transformed husband.

"It's plain and simple." Cosmic Spidey backflips in the air, charging a crackling energy sphere in both hands above his heads and shouts, "JUST KICK THEIR ASSES!" launching it down in an enormous rain of energy bullets, blasting both Galeem and Dharkon beneath him.

Both evil lords were left at the mercy of Spider-Man's attack until they simultaneously protect themselves with energy barriers soon after to continue this final battle. Cosmic Mario charges two blue energy spheres in his hands while flying towards Galeem with Super Sonic and Cosmic Gamora by his side. "Try to dodge this!" Sonic taunted. Both he and Gamora assault Galeem with powerful light speed attacks, until the light god blew them away with a devastating shockwave. Galeem then unleashes a massive blast at Mario, who dodges the attack while jumping to the backside of Galeem. Mario flings his energy spheres in rapid succession at Galeem, then concentrates more energy in his hands before placing the bottom of his palms together in front of him to bombard the lord with a barrage of blue blasts. Cosmic Kirby then shows up on his silver Warp Star, using the powers of the Silver Surfer as he draws from the infinite energy stream underpinning the universe. He forms that power into a massive energy sphere that he hurls straight at Galeem, causing a massive explosion that shook the skies of Battleworld.

But as the smokescreen dispersed, Galeem split his core into three yellow spheres of light, which fires a barrage of blasts at Mario and Kirby, blasting them through the sky. Suddenly, the light spheres were clapped into one by Madama Butterfly, who squeezes on the core while turning towards Thor. "THOR! PLAY BALL!" Bayonetta shouted, as her throws the core straight at Thor.

"By Mjolnir's power! FEEL HEAVEN'S WRATH!" Thor shouts, unleashing the ferocity and anger of a god as he swings his hammer right onto the core using the strength of a thunderstorm, slamming the creature into the ground with a thunderously colossal explosion that craters a massive portion of the surface.

Unbeknownst to Thor and Madama Butterfly until it was too late, they were drilled in the back by Galeem's active wings and knocked down as its core resurfaces to the air. But then the core was quickly attacked by Dharkon's tentacled hammer, who wanted to take advantage of his weaken state.

"HEY! Keep your EYE on me!" Cosmic Spidey punned, unleashing his aura and charging at Dharkon's eye. "For dark evil eye, cosmic punches are awesome!" He babbles while delivering three consecutive punches onto his eye, "It removes darkness and has the power to make me look cool!" He infuses his energy into the dark god with the final punch before kicking him upwards. "Wow! The difference is just amazing!" He raises and crosses his arms, further charging up before detonating the power within Dharkon's own eye, releasing a brilliant blue burst and creating a titanic mushroom cloud in the sky.

Suddenly, a tentacle wraps tightly on Spider-Man and drags him into the depths of a sky pool of darkness. "SPIDEY!" Cosmic Yang shouts, fearlessly flying straight into the pool of darkness to save her lover. After a few seconds, she grabbed him and fly themselves out of the pool and tears the tentacle off of him.

"Thanks, honey." Spidey said.

"You're welcome. Now throw me!" Yang instructed.

Spidey grabs her wrist and spins around in place at cosmic speeds into the shape of a cyclone. "Have a taste of the Cosmic Couple THORW!" Spidey shouts while throwing his wife as a massive energy projectile straight at Dharkon's eye.

"Is THAT what we're calling this move?!" Yang quips while smashing the eye with a devastatingly explosive punch, blasting the creature across the sky.

"Too much or too little?" Spidey wisecracked.

Phoenix Zelda then flies around firing a massive barrage of Phoenix Light Arrows at Dharkon, who repeatedly teleports away from them since he is painfully aware of how powerful the Phoenix is. But then, Dharkon gets trapped in time completely thanks to Super Shadow using the full power of Chaos Control. Shadow uses this chance to heavily pummel Dharkon at his weakspot, attacking him with teleporting kicks and afterimages until they were four Shadows kicking through him all at once. All four Shadows return as one above Dharkon, as the super hedgehog blasts the frozen god with a powerful, "Chaos…BLAST!"

Time resumes for Dharkon just as Palutena and Ultra Necrozma are finish charging up their respectively massive energy spheres above the creature. "You CANNOT hide from the light!" Palutena shouted, as she and the Pokemon hurl their attacks down onto Dharkon.

To their surprise, Dharkon manages to catch both massive energy spheres but struggles to deflect them for a moment. Unknown to him, Spider-Man and Yang are hovering below him and are ready to make things more difficult for him. "Spidey, let's go!" Yang says while infusing her left fist with energy.

"Right!" Spidey replies while infusing his right fist with energy.

The cosmic couple fly upwards while letting out a loud shout, smashing onto the back of Dharkon's eye with their empowered fists to push him closer to the light spheres with all of their strength. Dharkon had enough of them as he uses several of his tentacle snakes to strike at Spidey and Yang before creating a temporal rift above Palutena and Necrozma, which threatens to swallow both of them alive. Suddenly, Zelda pierces the tentacles with her arrows while Shadow uses Chaos Control to close the rift.

"Take this!" Zelda pierces Dharkon's eye with a powerful arrow shot, weakening him while Shadow kicks the massive light spheres onto the dark god, resulting in a massive explosion that severely weakens him and leaves his core exposed.

And then out of nowhere, Galeem turned his wings into a spear to attack the vulnerable Dharkon, further weakening his power. "Stop butting into our fight even though we kinda appreciate it!" Spidey jokingly scolds the light god.

Galeem was caught off-guard when Madama Butterfly pummels him with a barrage of devastating punches before ripping off several of his wings. Enraged, Galeem nearly kills the demon with a powerful energy beam that knocks her out for the rest of the battle. Quickly right after, Gamora flies down with her sword and slice off the remains of Galeem's wings before she was blasted to near-unconsciousness but was successful in leaving Galeem's core exposed.

"MIGHTY TORNADO!" Thor shouted, summoning a massive lightning tornado from his hammer to entrap the exposed core of light.

Inside the eye of the storm, Galeem is confronted by Super Sonic, Cosmic Mario, Cosmic Kirby, and Bayonetta. "Now we'll show you!" Sonic declared. Bayonetta uses her magic to slow down time around the core before pummeling it with a barrage of pistol whips, concluded by a thrusting pistol whip that knocks it towards Sonic. The super hedgehog strikes the core with his blinding speed and immense strength, then comes Kirby blasting the core down towards Mario, who uses a cosmic uppercut to knock it back up.

"He is weak! Now is our chance to finish him! Get your lightning ready, Thor!" Bayonetta shouts while pointing her pistols at the exposed core.

"Understood!" Thor shouted from outside the tornado, preparing to call down a blast of lightning into his tornado.

As Kirby concentrates his cosmic energy into his hands, Cosmic Mario rears his arms back while preparing to launch two gigantic fireballs. "This is it, Galeem! It's lights out for you!" Super Sonic declared, charging a powerful wave of energy in his cupped hands.

Meanwhile with Dharkon, he too is nearing defeat thanks to Cosmic Spider-Man and his Maximum Spider technique. The cosmic webhead kicks through the dark god several times while ensnaring him in a series of webs that's as hard as Adamantium. "Time to say goodnight, Dharkon! YOU'RE FINISHED!" Spidey declared, preparing to finish off Dharkon with a massive blast alongside Yang, Shadow, Zelda, Palutena, and Necrozma.

"HERE WE GOOOOOO!" Mario yelled at the top of lungs, signaling everyone to launch their finishing move at their respective opponents.

"HAAAAAAAAA!" The fighters screamed while unleashing their final attacks onto both Galeem and Dharkon simultaneously.

BGM End

The Lord of Light and the Lord of Darkness were both powerless to do anything but stare at their ends rapidly approaching their respective cores. The heroes' unified blasts ultimately decimates the beasts within a gigantically powerful explosion that captured the attention of every living being on Battleworld. At the God Quarry, the Champions and their army look around and notice the puppet fighters vanishing into nothing The same thing is happening with the Master and Crazy Hand clones as they disintegrate into dust. Lastly, everyone spots Galeem and Dharkon crumbling into pieces as they fall into the ocean and explode, leaving behind their godly essence to hover ominously in the air.

BGM-Sonic Colors OST-Finally Go Home

"They did it…They actually DID IT!" A smiling Carina shouted while punching the sky in sheer happiness, as their unified army cheers loudly of their victory over Galeem and Dharkon.

Cosmic Spider-Man and his group safely land on the ground as they are approached by all of their happy friends. "YAAAANG! You were so AWESOME!" Ruby yells in joy while running to hug her big sister.

"MARIOOOO! You were so amazing!" Peach yells happily while hugging her cosmically-empowered lover.

"Aw come ON! Where's the love for the Summoner who brought all of you guys here to save the multiverse in the first place?! Where's my hug?!" A jealous Spidey whined. Suddenly, Carina tackles him with a hug as he quips, "Oh, there it is."

"We did it! We WON!" Mega Man exclaimed with a smile.

"Of course we did." Iron Man quipped.

"We RULE!" Bowser posed victoriously while the other heroes celebrate their incredible victory.

"We stopped Galeem and Dharkon and saved Battleworld. I dunno about any of you, but I could use a vacation." Palutena joked with a smile.

"And we could have never gotten this far without you, Loki. I have heard of your good deeds on Battleworld, and for that, I am proud." Thor said, smiling at his brother, who was shocked by the genuine compliment.

"I, um, surprised as everyone at how this turned out." Loki replied, feeling slightly embarrassed.

Strange then approaches the trickster god, "Well done, Loki. There is just one last thing left to do. Use the Tesseract to rebuild the multiverse. It shouldn't be difficult as we are standing near the God Quarry in a nexus of all realities."

Loki looks at the Tesseract that is embedded into the tip of his scepter and then looks back at Dr. Strange with an ominous evil smile as he says, "…No."

KFX Here: Galeem and Dharkon have been defeated, but what is Loki plotting in that mischievous head of his? Realm of Smashers isn't over, folks! There is still one more chapter left, plus an epilogue, before we conclude this story for good.
