Another chapter for you! Hope you enjoy =)

Adrien was not a happy Kitty.

Him and Nino stopped dead at the top of the steps, Nino filled with apprehension, while Adrien was filled with bubbling frustration and anger.

At the bottom of the steps stood Juleka, Rose, Alix and Ivan, who were talking to Alya, while she was waiting for Nino. Next to them stood Marinette, who was having her personal space invaded by an enthusiastic Kim, again. Strangely enough though, that was not what bothered Adrien. Although kicking Kim to Timbuktu was very appealing at this moment in time, the action that bothered him more, was the hand lingering at Marinette's back. A hand belonging to a young man with turquoise-tipped hair, who was currently acting protector for the bluenette. Luka.

Luka was rebuffing Kim's advances, placing a calming hand on the jock's shoulder, putting distance between him and Marinette. Adrien should have been glad someone was there to be assistance, but he was pissed that it was not him. This fury was evident in the balled fists at his sides, earning another elbow from Nino.

"Dude! Calm it!" Nino cautioned the blonde, whose breathing was becoming quick and shallow.

Adrien huffed. He clenched his jaw, as he hissed through his teeth, "I'm fine."

"Man you're taking green eyed monster to a new level!" Nino chuckled before making to walk down the steps. This helped almost, as Adrien regained movement in his legs. Walking down the steps, he made his way down to the bluenette. Calming himself down, as he had to remind himself that she was a free person, and he had no right to be jealous at this moment. That was until Kim left.

Luka turned to Marinette, looking her dead in the eye. Holding her gaze, she wasn't leaning away as she had done when Victor had got up in her space. No. She was smiling. 'What the hell! Argh! Keep it together Adrien, he is just her friend, Nino said she likes you- What the fudge!'

Luka brushed a stray strand of hair behind her ear causing a gentle blush to spread across her cheeks.

'How dare he!' Adrien thought to himself, as Nino failed to grab his friends shoulder.

"You!" Adrien barged between Marinette and Luka without thinking, well, he was thinking, but not appropriately at least. "All day Marinette has had people ogling over her-" All eyes were on the blonde who was oblivious to his surroundings, "-she is not a piece of meat for crying out loud!" Adrien's chest was rising and falling in quick succession, as he stared down a taken aback but amused Luka.

His classmates eyes were wide. Staring at him, Alya struggled to hide her amusement, Nino face palmed and Marinette looked dumbfounded, as she moved to stand between the two young men.

"Adrien!"

Her voice brought him out of his anger infused state. Her hand rested on his bicep, as she searched his emerald eyes.

"Luka, can you give us a minute please?" Marinette asked without looking at him.

"Sure Mari, I'll wait over there," his astonished and amused tone present, as he pointed to by Juleka.

Marinette pulled Adrien away from the others a little bit before dropping her voice. Adrien was ready for chastising words, but they never came as she held his gaze.

"Thank you."

"What?" Shocked, Adrien's brow furrowed.

Marinette dropped her gaze, as she fiddled with her fingertips. "I appreciate you doing that, but Luka was only trying to comfort me as I've had enough of the 'ogling' as you put it." A small chuckled left her lips as she looked back up to him again. "It was sweet, an-and needed, uh, around th-the others, so erm..." She dropped her gaze again, cursing her inability to talk properly to Adrien. "Maybe, tomorrow, you could...erm..."

"I'll be there." He reassured her, as they smiled daftly at each other. Her blush arose, much more obviously this time, as Adrien reached for his nape, trying to conceal his nervous energy. "Sorry." Dropping his gaze to the floor, he turned to look at Luka. "Sorry Luka."

The guitarist approached him and patted him on the back, he was always so friendly and understanding. "Do not worry Adrien, we both want what's best for Marinette." He smiled warmly at the embarrassed blonde.

"Shall we get going guys?" Ivan suggested, to which Marinette and Luka nodded.

"See you tomorrow?" Marinette smiled at Adrien, as she clutched the straps of her backpack.

"Of course!" He answered enthusiastically, as Marinette walked away.

Nino approached Adrien, while Alya stayed talking to Alix, "you got it bad dude."

Adrien raked his hand down his face before looking at his best friend. "Don't say anything, I want to tell her in my own way."

"Weeeelll," Nino dragged out, "I wouldn't wait too long." He discreetly pointed in the direction of the hand that had made its way on to the small of Marinette's back once again, "you aren't the only one who would like to be 'more than friends' with our girl."

Adrien's eyes lingered on the pair down the street, jealousy and the need to protect, bubbling up in his chest. "I won't."

That night, after dinner, Chat Noir felt it necessary to pay a visit to his favourite Parisian. He landed with a thump on the balcony, as the sun was setting in the distance. The trapdoor opened, but it was not Marinette who greeted him.

"Ladyblogger?"

"Chat," she smirked at him.

Panic rising, Chat was not sure if it was because he had been found out for visiting Marinette, or the fact that Marinette had not been the one to greet him.

"Where's Marinette? Is she ok? What's goin-"

"Whoa there whiskers-"

'I don't even have whiskers.'

"-everything is fine," she put her hands out as he tried to get past her. "Marinette is just in the shower."

"Oh," Chat looked at Alya, a small blush appearing below his mask as he giggled nervously, reaching for his nape. "Is...everything ok though?"

"Yes, Yes," she waved him off with a flick of her hand. "She's had a rough day and is, well, needing to reflect on a few things."

"Oh? How so?" Not wanting to give any of his knowledge of the day she has had away, Chat enquired convincingly.

"Maybe I should let her tell you," Alya tapped her chin in thought as she turned back to the trapdoor. "Hang on," Alya turned abruptly on her heel, finger pointing at his face accusingly, "why are you here?"

"I-hah-I...was...in the neighbourhood?" Questioning his own explanation earned narrowed inquisitive eyes searching his nervous expression.

Alya pursed her lips, still questioning his motives for appearing on her best friend's roof terrace. "Riiight," she looked him square in the eye, finger still pointing up at him as he backed away from her slightly. "I don't believe you Chat, but, I will allow entry on one condition."

Chat inwardly groaned, 'Ladybug is going to kill me,' "what is your request?"

Her face changed instantly, as she bounced excitedly on the balls of her feet. "An exclusive interview for the Ladyblog of course!" She clapped her hands in quick succession as he rolled his eyes and nodded acceptance to her request.

"Awesome!"

"Alya, Chat?" Marinette looked up at the two occupants of her balcony from the trapdoor in surprise. "Kitty, what are you doing here?"

"Can't a knight visit his princess?" He smiled down to her as Alya gasped at their exchange.

"Ok, this going on the blog!" She started typing quickly on her phone.

"No!" Both Marinette and Chat insisted as she looked between the two of them. Pleading with her eyes.

"You can't put anything on there that would endanger Marinette." Chat told her with a growl rumbling in his voice.

"Fine!" Alya huffed as she put her phone away.

"Let's get inside before anyone sees you!" Marinette climbed down allowing for them to follow her. Sitting on her computer chair, she watched them get comfortable. Alya sitting on her chaise, while Chat spread out on his back on her floor.

Alya instantly went into to reporter mode. "How long have you been getting visits from Chat? Why does he call you princess? Do your parents know? Why didn't you tell me?"

"Alya-"

"I'm your best friend! You never thought to tell me that one half of Paris' dream team visits you at your house...ooo is something going on between you two?" She finished with a knowing smirk at her visibly annoyed friend. Chat was finding this quite amusing as the focus was no longer on him, he sat up and helped himself to a pastry. "Quite comfortable aren't you." Alya commented as Marinette huffed at him.

"Feed a stray and they keep coming back," Marinette playfully squinted at the hero in black. "He's my friend Alya, and I haven't told you for obvious reasons." Marinette raised her eyebrows at the phone which had once again found its way into to bloggers hand.

"Oops," Alya guiltily chucked, as she put her phone in her bag on the floor. "Better?"

"Much, thank you," Marinette let out a sigh of relief, before grabbing a pastry of her own.

"You drying that mane of yours tonight then?" Alya laughed at Marinette.

"Once you've both left." She answered as she made eye contact with the floor.

"So what's this I hear about you having a rough day?" Chat enquired as he sat back on the floor, resting backwards on his palms. Marinette shot an annoyed look at Alya as he continued to try and coax information out of her. "You know you can tell me princess, Chat's honour I won't say anything."

"Hmmm," Marinette looked at him through the corner of her eye, catching his cheeky smile, he seemed to be enjoying this. "If you must know, school got a little...intense today-"

"Marinette came to school with sex hair and the boys wouldn't leave her alone." Alya deadpanned at Chat, who sniggered at her explanation of today's situation. "Oh and she has a dilemma too-"

"Alya!" Marinette chastised her friend for giving out too much information. "It's not a dilemma, it's sorted."

"Mmhmm," Alya sassed, "Luka told you he would wait for you if it doesn't pan out with Mr Oblivious, even though it's been what? Three years! And you're still no closer to getting out of the friend zone."

Marinette looked disappointedly at the floor, "today was-"

"Today was a friend looking after his friend...sorry girl," Alya apologised at seeing the defeated look in her friend's eyes. "I honestly think you should give Luka a shot, he's a nice guy," Alya emphasised, "and he really wants to get to know you better."

Chat sat watching the exchange. Anger bubbling up with Alya's encouragement of Marinette making her way into another's arms. He knew he had to keep tight lipped as to not give his identity away, but he had to do something.

"What were you saying about today princess?" He purred, smirking at Alya's annoyance.

"I don't know, it just seemed like-uh-maybe Alya's right..." Marinette sighed in defeat. "Out of all the people who approached me today, he's the only one who didn't, as Alya said at school, gawp at me..." she pursed her lips in thought, "maybe I have read too much into it." She played with her damp hair, as Chat stared in disbelief.

As Adrien, he had wanted to ask her out, but he figured she needed a friend more than another admirer at the time. He needed to do damage control and quick. "Why don't you give it a few days and see?" He suggested. "Maybe he figured you needed a friend more than an admirer."

"That does make sense actually," Alya tapped her figures together as she thought. "Maybe he was just being a gentleman and looking out for you, he did get very protective today."

Before Marinette could say anything, Chat enthusiastically jumped up onto his feet, "That's settled then." Pulling Marinette to her feet, he spun her around and faced them both at the mirror. He parted her hair to reflect her usual style and bent down, putting his chin on her shoulder and using their reflections to maintain eye contact. He could smell lavender again, and it took all his willpower not to get lost in his thoughts. "Maybe," he cleared his throat, "you should go back to your regular style, and see how your Prince Charming reacts."

His hands found their way onto her hips as she stared in to his eyes, a blush forming on her cheeks, causing flutters within them both. Marinette liked Chat, and many times over the years she had wondered how close they would have become if it had not been for for her love for Adrien.

Alya cleared her throat.

They quickly came out of their moment with a bump. Alya smirked as they separated quickly. Playfully pointing between the two of them, who were now rather bashful in Alya's presence, "are you suuuure there's nothing going on between you two."

They both chuckled nervously. In unison they denied with an all too familiar "we're just friends."

"Mmhmm," Alya sassed, "well if it wasn't for sunshine, I'd have a new ship to sail."

Alya laughed heartily at their uncomfortable states, Marinette glared at her while Chat reached for the back of his neck.

Making his leave, he kissed Marinette softly on the back of her knuckles. Marinette noted it lacked the usual flirtatious flair in front of Alya, and he bid them adieu. Alya left quickly after, leaving Marinette to dry her hair and get an early night. Not that she planned on doing so, but she knew she would be up most of the night thinking about the day to come.

Sorry it's a little shorter than the previous chapters, I'm having trouble with my eye and I'm getting headaches. I just can not stop writing though! I have more stories being updated within the next few days also, so if you haven't already, please check them out, and let me know what you think.

How will school go tomorrow? Will there be a spanner thrown into the works somewhere down the line? Of course there will! Who will be the one to mess it all up?
