Prologue

A small motorboat was drifting along the ocean, no land in sight, in the boat was some kind of humanoid creature, it was no inkling but it wasn't exactly human either, despite looking almost exactly like one, with human like hair and body shape. He was sleeping in the boat that had been drifting for 3 days now. The creature woke up and slowly sat upright, rubbing his head. "Yeesh, how long was I out?" he said, going to turn on the motor to continue his journey along the ocean.

4 days ago the boy was in a dorm reading magazines, the moonlight shone through the overhead window as an odd noise was heard in the room nextdoor. The boy, being curious, closed his magazine and got up from his desk. He made his way into the hall where he saw two guys in lab coats with their backs turned. "What the.." the boy whispered, he started eavesdropping on their conversation. "You have your gas mask?" Lab coat 1 asked. "Yeah, when are we releasing the mustard gas?" Lad coat 2 said. The boy was shocked hearing that, were they really going to kill everyone in the building? Why would they do that to their own residents? The boy didn't have time to think. "Fuck this." He said, and started running down the hallway. He made it to the bottom floor when the gas was released, the boy used his scarf to cover his mouth and made it out the door. He ran to the beach and spotted an old fishing boat, with gas luckily. The boy pushed the boat in the water and got in leaving the small island as fast as possible. As soon as the island was no longer in sight, the boy laid down in the boat and began softly crying.

It's been 5 days, the boy still in the fishing boat. He looked down in sadness and began doubting himself. "Why did I leave? I could've just died there instead of starving out here. I'm so stupid.." he looked up and saw something in the distance. A closer look revealed that it was a huge city. The boy got a glimmer of hope and rushed to get the engine started. He pulled the cord on it.. nothing. He tried again.. nothing. It was out of gas. "No no no!" The boy yelled. He started pushing the boat forward by sticking his hand in the water and using it as an oar. The boat was moving, just very slowly. Still the boy kept pushing toward the city, hoping to make it and stay alive.

So this is the start of my first story, apologies if it was a little all over the place or short, I was in a rush to get the first chapter done so future chapters will be longer. As always tell me what you think and what I should improve on. Cheers.
