I do not own anything.
"What a repulsive world."
Xehanort, Ansem the Wise assistant, said that. Originally, he was suppose to be on Radiant Garden, but couldn't help but see what the other worlds were like. His curiosity couldn't be bound to just his mission forever.
Sadly, he landed on a world that was... regressive to say the least. This world not only has limited magic users, being one child per family, but fought in a 'Holy Grail War' that will grant the winner its hearts desire.
What an utter joke.
'If they had found an alternative method, they wouldn't be leading their families like headless chickens. Instead, they've lead their egos to their damnation.'
He knows his goal on an... 'chi' something, but is unable to remember at the moment.
Xehanort was strolling around throughout his location, currently at least admiring the beauty of it. While part of it was for his curiosity, the other is for having his memories return to him.
As he continued on walking around, he noticed a... girl. She was sitting on a bench, with her head down facing the ground.
Xehanort couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at the situation,
'What is that girl doing out here?'
Shrugging, he decided to continue his endeavor to explore the world further before hearing a voice in his head.
'Go back.'
Xehanort stopped when he heard that voice. It was... struggling, to say the least. But the oddest thing is that he doesn't know why.
Sighing, he turned and walked toward the girl. He asked her a question.
"Is this this seat taken?"
The still had her face looking down, making Xehanort frown.
'Did she not hear me?'
Few minutes of silence passed, and Xehanort responded again in annoyance.
"Little girl."
That got her attention, as she raised her head to eye him. The thing that was curious to him was... her eyes.
'Why are her eyes dead?'
Xehanort frowned on her expression, seeing as if all joy inside her was non-existing.
Speaking as softly as he could, he continued.
"Can I sit here?"
Despite the girl not responding, she gave him a nod.
Taking a seat next to her, he faved forward and just... looked at the sunset, with the girl having her face staring the ground again.
'Talk to her.'
Xehanort eyebrow twitched in annoyance at the voice, not really understanding what it wanted from him.
Before he could say anything, the little girl spoke in a dead tone.
"I'm sorry."
Xehanort blinked that the girl finally spoke, not really expecting her to speak.
Seeing as he's not getting out of this, he spoke.
"For what?"
"For not... responding. I... I didn't..."
The girl stopped talking suddenly, resulting in the silence to continue again.
Since he was already here, Xehanort decided to just screw it and turned to face her to have a conversation with her.
"You know, it's rude that I don't know your name. Can you at least tell me that? My name is Xehanort."
The girl turned to face him in response.
"My name is Sakura Mato."
He waited for her to say something else, but mentally sighed as he knew he has to engage the conversation as well.
"Well, can you tell me what's bothering you? I doubt your out here without a reason."
She tilted her head in confusion at the stranger, not sure on why he wants to hear her story.
"Why?"
Xehanort paused for a minute before responding.
"To be honest, since we don't know each other that well, this will be a good opportunity to get something out of your chest. It's not healthy to hold so much baggage, you know? Afterall, I can't judge you since I don't know you."
Sakura eyed the floor again as she spoke.
"I lost someone I genuinely loved. Shirou Emiya was... w-was... killed last week."
Xehanort convey as much sorrow in his voice, despite not really caring about the boy.
"I'm... sorry for your loss. Why don't you-"
"I hate my life."
Now that got Xehanort frowning, even though he doesn't really care about the girl, this isn't normally a... normal reaction.
"Why do you hate your life?"
He spoke as calmly as possible in the current situation, trying to let loose what was seemingly bottled up inside her.
The girl face morphed from anger to pity before returning blank, despite her eyes remaing dead.
"My birth parents gave me away in exchange for my sister, having something that seems better than me.
Xehanort could help but continuing frowning, realizing that the girl might be a person who could use magic.
'I wonder...'
He thought about doing something interesting, but decided to continue listening.
"My sister gave me a ribbon so that I can remember her. I thought she would save me, but I guess she finally gave up on me."
Xehanort internally thought about what she said. Despite not have blood relations of anyone, he did have close ties to a man with a scar, despite not remembering his name.
"I was given to a man named Zouken. He saw a vision and resulted into training to the point..."
Sakura trailed off, whereas Xehanort assured her she didn't have to say it.
"It's alright, you don't have to continue."
Oddly enough, the girl shook her head, her voice changing from monotone to sadness.
"To the point where it felt like it was pointless to live. To where my uncle died in trying to save me. My brother who doesn't... have what I have, loathes me. He bullied me when I was younger. There was a point in which he started to love me, but it died when I became heir of the house. The rest is history."
She turned to face the man again, eyeing him.
"What's your story?"
Xehanort hummed in amusement at that as he responded to her question.
"I'm an amnesiac."
Sakura bit her lower lip at that.
"I'm sorry."
"You were curious, thus I responded, so what's wrong with that?"
Xehanort let out a small smile before responding.
"I'm a researcher who's currently working with Ansem the Wise. He is a ruler in a place called Radiant Garden."
Sakura eyes widen at that, though her eyes sadly remained dead.
"That sounds... pretty."
Xehanort chuckled before hearing the voice again.
'Help her.'
Mentally rolling his eyes, he can sadly, for once, agree with it.
"I know you have magic, Sakura."
Sakura eyes widen at that as she got off the bench and fell to the ground, unable to believe what she just heard.
"W-What?"
Seeing her shaking, Xehanort raised his hands in surrender, showing her he's doesn't want to fight.
"As I said, know this, because I have it to."
"T-That's iimpossible."
Chuckling, he decided to give her the bomb shell, hoping to sway her away.
"Magic is not as rare from where I come from. Radiant Garden is a world throughout the sea of stars. Despite not being born there, it is currently my home. I have a way to take you there, but only if you trust me."
For the first time, her eyes sparked with life, making Xehanort oddly... happy at that.
Slowly, she got up, trying to control her shaking. Xehanort thought she was afraid when Sakura, in reality, was controlling herself from crying.
"Why? Why are you t-telling me this?"
Sighing, he decided to twist his words around. Honestly, he wanted her to further his goals, but he knows that's not what the girl wants to hear.
"Because I can take you to a place where you will be loved. That is your desire, thus I can grant you it."
Unable to control herself, her eyes started to water, much to Xehanort's confusion.
"Why are you-"
The last thing he expected was to be tackled by the girl, being held onto as if her life depended on it.
"Thank you... thank you... thank you..."
She quietly said that to herself as Xehanort rubbed her back, much to his discomfort.
Slowly prying her off, he explained to her on what he has to do.
"Now let me see about finding my cloak. I was lucky enough to bring it with me two of them."
Rumming in his belongings, he pulled out two cloaks that were folded, giving one to her.
With both of of them wearing the cloak, Xehanort summoned a Corridor of Darkness.
Sakura was sacred at seeing the corridor.
Xehanort walked toward it until he noticed Sakura didn't walk forward.
Sighing, Xehanort walked back to her and raised his hand to her, willing her to grab his hand.
Sakura bit her lip and asked something selfish on her end.
"Will you be able to get rid of my magic crest? It has me containing worms that feeds on my mana."
Xehanot might not be showing it, but he was actually disgusted upon hearing that.
'I'll make sure to pay a... visit to Zouken.'
He gave her a determined look.
"I will do everything in my power to remove your curse from you."
With that said, she grabbed his hand in understanding.
"Now, I suggest you keep your eyes closed. Let's just say it will be more... magical that way."
With that said, Sakura closed her eyes as the two walked toward the Corridor, resulting in them vanishing from the world.
When to appeared on Radiant Garden, Xehanort spoke.
"You can open your eyes now."
With that said, she opend her eyes to see something she considered beautiful.
A castle, filled with garden around the area.
She couldn't help but whisper out her next words.
"It's beautiful."
Although he felt like the next lines he considered cheesy, he decided to say.
"Welcome to your home."
And Sakura couldn't help but agree on that.
Never saw the fate series, but I hope this wasn't to bad.
Xehanort has amnesia in the story with the voice in Xehanorts head being you know who.
Takes place before Radient Garden fell.
