I don't own Vikings.
Prologue
Thunder crashes into the skies. Rains came down hard like arrows. Waves swifts that would crumble the mountains. Winds blow strong that could tear the sails ripe apart. It would appear that a boat of fishermen is trying to control the sails. This is no ordinary fishing boat.
It was coming from Norway.
They are people called Norse men or better terms Vikings.
"We need to get to shore!" One of the men says to their captain.
"Aye! I believe Thor is battling something!"
"No! We can't go back now! Our home is depending on us to feed her people fishes!"
There are four men on his boat. They needed some sort of miracle to save and protect their home.
"Men there is something in the water!"
They all look and saw in the darkness a body moving shifting by the current waves. By Gods, if one could look at the darkness there's a person out there trying to swim. By the looks of it. This person is holding tight on the rocks there.
"Oh Odin's beard! I think someone needs our help!"
The Old captain knew that this one of those days that can't be helped!
"Bring the nets, lads! We'll fish this one out!"
Gathering their nets as quickly as they could.
"Throw lads! Throw I say!"
They throw hard and farther as they could see. What seemed almost impossible. The net got the drowning person.
"Ah! We got it!"
"Pull!"
They grunted and groan as they pulled the net. The waters are strong, and they prayed that this person is not dead. It would be a bad omen.
What seems like forever. They managed to bring the net along with the body.
It truly was a miraculous sight.
"By Gods!"
It is a woman. White hair and blue eyes. However, it wasn't her facial, they were paying attention. No, it was tail. I fin-like tail with the most beautiful scales like ice crystals.
"What is this?"
The tail is fish-like and no longs. The fishtail moved sideways aggressively.
The woman hissed and snarled at them. She struggles to be released, but it would appear that her body moves around too had made it harder to get out.
"I believed this is a Selkie." The captain shivers in fear and surprise.
'Truly the Gods had smiled upon them.' The captain smiled beamingly.
"Men! We must return home. I believe now we can protect and save our home."
Many agreed and quickly change course to return home.
"The Gods are truly are on our side. Let's pray that King Ivar would accept this offering."
What they didn't know is that she is no selkie.
No, she is what people called, Mermaid.
I hope that you guys enjoy that.
I was inspired by another story from Tumblr. The author was rosepetals-flyingbirds who written Ivar/Oc called Creature Fiction. Look it up it's awesome.
