My first attempt at ReiShi pairing, (as in official) LMAO

I have a story wherein there is slight ReiShi moments and in that alone I literally fell in love with them, as I constantly babble in my author's note every chapter. If you like ShinShi with a slight touch of ReiShi, check out my other story titled 'The love he could never understand'.

"Isn't it rare to see a beautiful lady alone in the farthest corner of this restaurant during an engagement party?" Furuya Rei inquired, situating himself directly opposite the strawberry blonde scientist. She looked up from her drink, eyebrows raised in a funny manner.

"Isn't it rare to just join someone in the table without permission?" Shiho asked in return, that cold sarcastic voice reached his ears. He smiled even more, pretending not to care.

"Fair enough" he answered her, eyes looking at her intently. "I never knew your this beautiful. Well, I noticed it before but you looked ravishing tonight" he said it confidently, flashing his trademark smile in the process.

She rolled her eyes and looked away, eyes focused on the couple in the center stage. "They looked good together" Shiho unconsciously stated, earning a chuckle from the detective across from her. Raising an eyebrow, she asked "What's funny?"

"I bet we'll looked even better than them. The bride, Ran- san is fairly beautiful but you're something more. Let's get out of here Miyano Shiho- san"

Shiho uncharacteristically giggled while shaking her head. He watched the usually cold woman giggle right in front of him and it amazed him. "You should act like that more. It suits you"

Shiho regained her composure and glared at him. "And act like Suzuki Sonoko? No thank you"

"Well, you're much more beautiful than her. Anyways, If you're bored, come with me"

"No"

"Or we could just pretend that it's just the two of us" the detective suggested.

He flashed her his trademark smile, the one he uses when dealing with girls. "Sitting here, talking. Pretending it's just the two of us. We are good at pretending anyway. Right, Sherry?"

She raised an eyebrow at him. He smiled even more.

"We could just sit here, not caring what's going on around us."

"No" she firmly answered him.

He eyed the phone in the table and with raised eyebrow he asked her if it's hers. Seeing her nod her head as confirmation, he grabbed the said phone and dialed his number. His ringtone echoed throughout their table.

"What are you doing?" Shiho asked, doing her best to grab her phone back. He gave it to her after a while, grinning.

"Ok then. Have a nice time alone Miyano- san"

He left. Just like that, leaving Shiho alone in her table once more. A few minutes after, Kudo Shinichi joined her, he looked exhausted and his hair's a messed.

"Where have you been?" She asked him, annoyance written all over her face.

He scratched the back of his head, smiling sheepishly at her. "I fell asleep and forgot about Ran's engagement party. " he pointed a finger at his face "I looked like I ran all the way from Tokyo to Osaka."

"Whatever. Now, go and talked to Ran and Araide- sensei. The party is almost over"

He stood up but before he took a step towards Ran and Araide, Shiho's phone rang. He looked at her opening her phone, a smile adorning her face.

"Who was that?" He asked curiously as the woman's smile haven't left her face right after she opened her message.

Shaking her head, she answered, "No one. Go Kudo- kun, I'll wait here"

As soon as Shinichi left, Shiho read the message again.

'You know, since you're drinking something a while back- why don't you try Bourbon on the rocks? It suits you and I guarantee you'll enjoy it. I'll pick you up at lunch tomorrow'

As if on cue, a waiter came in and asked if she needs anything.

"Bourbon on the rocks" she answered, that smile still plastered in her face.
