I do not own shokugeki no soma

This is my first time writing story as well as fanfiction, so I don't know much about vocabulary, grammar, or used of punctuation, as well as dialog placement, and paragraph. Therefore I asked you who read this might be crappy fanfic to understand my situation as a newbie and if you could please do give me some advice. (My mother language is not English so my English might be bad so please understand.)

Soma was doing preparation to open the diner when his dad suddenly ask him to stop, telling him that they won't be open for today. "Dad, why are we closing the diner today!?" was the only thing Soma could say after he heard what his dad said earlier.

"Huh, listen Soma. Today we will have some special guests coming over, so of course we have to close this place today so they can enjoy this place as a proper place to eat." Answer the man with maroon hair.

Actually the reason why Jouichiro decided to close the restaurant today was to let soma meet with an old man and his granddaughter. To be more exact he want his son to have a friend, well basically soma have friends but because of his passion in cooking is so big he did not spent any time playing with friends like most child do. Because of that Jouichiro start to think of a way to get his son a friend that not only have a good character but also good at cooking so Soma can have a playmate. After thinking for a while suddenly he remembered someone. "Erina-chan!" and with that Jouichiro invite Senzaemon and Erina to his house.

"Ugh! What kind of guest is it that we have to close our diner just to welcome them like a celebrity. You know if they want to eat here they can just eat with all the other folks because we prep food for every costumer right?!" Soma keep complaining as he keep preparing the diner, hoping he can change his dad thought of closing the diner today. "No can't do Soma today our guest is indeed a celebrity. Plus it's so hard to invite them here as he only agree to this condition if we want to meet his granddaughter."

"Then we don't need to meet his granddaughter, problem solved right dad?!" as he heard this he thought that it is useless to keep explaining to Soma so he just shut his mouth pretend to be mute as if he was really can't speak. Suddenly Soma hear a voice of two person as he identified their voice he reach a conclusion that the guest was an old man and a little girl, which means that this is the guest that his father were waiting for. Knowing that he automatically become curious, then he decided to take a peek before his dad call him to come and greet them. "Beautiful…" it was the only thing that came out of his mouth after he see the little girl that come as a guest to his little diner, right now he is flustered, he can feel that he cannot move his gaze from that girl.

"Soma, Soma, Somaa!" as he heard a familiar voice he came back to reality "Ah, yes dad." He was so nervous when his dad called him, he hoped that his dad didn't see his was when he was flustered just before he called him. "What are you doing there Soma, come here and greet them." As he heard that he hastily came down and greet them while trying to avoid gazing the girl when suddenly, "Why are you trying to avoid me?" it came out from the girl mouth with a confused tone. As he heard that Soma became flustered, his face is now as red as tomato and he quickly answer "N-n-n-no, I-I-I did not avoid you, why would you said that." As she saw that she suddenly laugh out loud until her grandfather scolded her saying it was rude and apologize to the boy.

"Ah well I did not expect that Erina-chan can laugh out loud like that though." Hearing that Erina feels like she wanted to kill herself how can she shown a rude behavior in front of her idol more so she even being rude to his son, "ugh, great so great Erina how can you not behave yourself in front of your idol Saiba-sama. Uhh what if he hate me because of that uhh." That was what Erina thought before Jouichiro speak again "Okay Soma now you have been laughed by a girl that will be your friend, it looks like you will be getting along well." A little smirk come out of Jouichiro face after he sees his son surprised face after knowing that he will befriend a beautiful girl, when Erina become confused and ask her grandfather.

"Grandfather, what was the meaning of this!? I thought I come here to test Saiba-sama's food." Hearing that Jouichiro grin and answered Erina. "It is true though Erina-chan. Today you will test some food here cooked by Soma here."

"What? I don't agree to this!!!" Said an angered Erina, "Oh didn't I tell you?" Said the old man while making a dumb face, "No, you did not grandfather!" a shout came out of Erina's mouth as her angered reached it's peak. Suddenly she smells something good as she change her gaze to the kitchen only to be surprised by a cooking Soma. At that sight she thought "he is so handsome…" Soma finish his cooking and walk towards Erina and old man Senzaemon. He put the plates on the table as he wait for them to eat and give him an opinion about his cooking, meanwhile Erina was still insede of her wild imagination of having her first "boy friend". Luckily her grandfather called and she snapped out of it, when she see a plate of food in front of her and saw her grandfather eating she came to eat the food as well. After they finish the food Soma asked them about the food. Sadly for Soma the one who answered his question is the old man as Erina refuse to give comments.

After all of that's done Jouichiro and the old man is speaking on their own, while Soma and Erina was told to just talk with each other or just go play outside if thy are bored. After hearing that Soma tried to take the initiative to speak.

"Uhm, can I call you Erina?" Ask Soma bluhing.

"Y-yes, th-then I'll call you Soma okay." Answered Erina also blushing.

"Well, okay than Erina what about I guide you around?" Ask Soma.

"Uhmm… I think that sounds good lets go. " Answered Erina.

With that said Soma and Erina go out and play around. From that day Erina always comes there from once a week, to twice a week, and so on until she comes there every day spending her days playing and learn cooking with Soma. They talked a lot together and they even promised to marry when they grow up, it was the day when Soma's life was really colorful as he spent every day with Erina. Unfortunately Erina has stop coming six months ago, until now Soma keeps questioning his dad about Erina's condition but the only answer he got was she is fine, you don't need to worry about her. Well he always got that answer but he believe that it's not true and to get an answered he challenge his dad to a cooking contest.

"Dad! I want to challenge you to a cooking contest!" when Jouichiro heard this he don't want to agree at first because he knew that if he accept he cannot keep Erina's secret anymore. However because of stubborn Soma keep coming and never give up he finally agree on one condition, if Soma cannot make him satisfy Soma cannot challenge him again for 10 years but if Soma can make him satisfy than he will help Soma meet Erina again. Hearing this Soma did not even think about it and just agree to the condition and so the match started. The match was so intense that even Jouichiro feel some pressure from Soma well it's not like Soma is less genius than Jouichiro, you can say that if Jouichiro was asura than Soma must be Indra in the future that was probably what people will think if they knew Soma is the son of Jouichiro. Indeed even Jouichiro think that Soma will definitely be better than him, but right now he didn't expect that his son can be so close to him right now. When he think about it he actually found it funny because he the one who should know about it the most did not even realize it until now, yes it was about the secret to becoming a great chef or you could say the secret of cooking that save Jouichiro. "I see Soma, it seems that you have gotten the secret to becoming a good chef huh."

"What was it dad?"

"Ah I was just saying that you have found it, you have meet a woman that will make you want to give all the food you make to her. Well Soma I have to say it is a good thing but I can't believe you have found it this early, Soma."

"Well if you know it than why don't you just tell me about Erina now!?"

"Oh impatient I see, then lets finish this quickly than I will tell you if you met the condition."

Finally the both of them finish their cooking and as expected Soma have satisfy Jouichiro and now he demand his prize. "Guess I have no other choice than, huh. Listen Soma, Erina is the daughter of Nakiri family a distinguished family in the food industry. But that is not the problem the real problem is Erina possessed the divine tongue, a tongue that can elevate food to the perfect degree of course the possessor can also make a food that can be called perfect by using the tongue. Because of that her father Nakamura Azami or now Nakiri Azami has tried to use her in his ambition of creating a true gourmet, but because of that he had trained her and change her concept of food. He made her throw away all imperfect or ungourmet food to the trash which include our diner food. Unfortunately when Senzaemon found out about it, it was too late Erina has already been brainwashed and she was also traumatized even now when Azami has been exiled from Totsuki. That's why Erina need treatment at her home and no one can visit her while she's being treated, but if you want to see her again I can help you even though it might take 10 more years for you to actually see her again, so what do you say Soma?"

"But why 10 years, can't I just see her now?"

"No you can't Soma, currently she is being treated however she still continue to study about cooking so I doubt you can visit her. But don't worry Soma I heard that she will go to Totsuki a school that only care about cooking, so in order for you to be with her you must get into that school. With that said if you really want to enroll there I will help you by training you all around the world!"

"Alright dad, I have decided I will enroll at Totsuki when I reach high school so right now of course I am ready for all the training!"

"Good Soma, then we can go tomorrow." As Jouichiro said that Soma picked up a mask, it was given by his mother now it was the time for him to use it. "Dad I will be using this as we train, I want to hide my identity so that I won't be attracting too much attention. What do you think dad?" As he observe Soma using the mask he nod his head and with big thumbs up he said, "Yeah, you look good with it." And so Soma start his training all around the world using a mask and he recived a lot of praises as well as nicknames, such as The demon mask, Chef with a lot of faces, etc. As he receive a lot of achievement and praises time flies and in a blink of an eye 10 years has passed, now Soma has come back to Japan and he is ready to enroll in Totsuki as transfer student.
