PROLOGUE: Mysterious Events

Northern Scandinavia…

"Here we are." Anastasia said to Elsa.

Upon arriving, Elsa is baffled by the sight that she is presented to. A town near the border of the two allied kingdoms is completely frozen. The two inspects the said town accompanied by several guards as there are reports of hostile townspeople that attack any outsider that enter. Elsa tries and break a chunk of ice, and a dark, tar-like fluid oozes out of it.

"What is this?" Elsa asked.

"That means that this place has been cursed!" An old woman said from out of nowhere, startling both Elsa and Anastasia.

"Cursed?" Anastasia asked.

"You." The old woman points to Elsa. "You're not normal, are you?" the old woman asked.

"I… I am not." Elsa replied.

"You're a sorceress. I can feel your cold skin just from standing here. And it looks to me that you've been going around and doing things that you're not supposed to do." The old woman said.

"What is that supposed to mean?" Elsa asked. The old woman eyes Elsa suspiciously, like she'd done a horrible crime of sorts.

"Yes. You're her. The Snow Queen, correct? I've heard about your adventures. Athohallan, the Enchanted Forest, Jan Mayen? You are not a great leader after all those." The old woman said, putting a somewhat shamed expression on Elsa.

"I'm sorry, why are you saying that to her? Can you please at least tell us why?" Anastasia cuts in, backing up Elsa.

"Your friend here is disturbing the balance of magic in Scandinavia. For as long as time existed, magic has shaped the world around us, kept the entire thing stable, until the Snow Queen comes into the fold. You've destroyed the Enchanted Forest. You sunk Athohallan, the gateway of all magic here in the North! Now, you're wandering around, putting freeze spells on towns!" The old woman accuses towards Elsa.

"Wait, wait. Are you saying "I" did this? I would never do such thing to my people." Elsa defends herself.

"What do you mean this is not your doing? In the myths, you are the only one who can do this. The Snow Queen is not a benevolent being. The Snow Queen can also be destructive, a scourge to humanity!" The old woman tells Elsa and Anastasia.

Anastasia tags Elsa away, but the old woman kept on ranting to her until she can no longer be heard. Elsa sits on a nearby bench, sinking in her head the rants that the old woman told her. She sticks her head on her palms in anguish. Anastasia places a hand on her shoulder.

"Don't listen to her. You know that you did not freeze that town." Anastasia said.

"It's just—" Elsa said. She shoots a blast of ice on the ground. Elsa breaks a chunk of the ice from the ground, and no dark ooze came out of it.

"See? It is not me." Elsa replied. Anastasia breaks another chunk off, and no dark ooze came out from between the break.

"Strange. If it wasn't you, then what or who could be possibly behind what happened to the town?" Anastasia asked.

"I don't understand. If I am the only one that holds this kind of power. Then how did this happen?" Elsa asked. Then, she got something in mind. "Wait, what day is it today?" Elsa asked.

"Uhm, it's twenty-fourth of June?" Anastasia replied. "Why" She asked.

"And when did this happen according to the townspeople?" Elsa follows up.

"Three days ago." Anastasia replied.

"Summer solstice? This isn't right. All the fjords are thawed during the solstice." Elsa replied. Then, several guards that were tasked to bring aid to the town suddenly ran up to them. Some of them have permafrost on parts of their arms and legs, like someone attacked them.

"What happened!?" Elsa worriedly asked.

"A freak blizzard suddenly appeared on the town, and some folks disappeared after!" One of the guards tells the two, adding to the confusion of the two monarchs on what's happening.

In Arendelle…

Anna is casually lounging on the castle balcony, enjoying her cold beverage when the castle starts shaking to its foundations. The people down on the streets panicked as they hang on to the gas lamp posts. Some traders struggle to keep their produce from thrashing off to the ground.

After a few seconds, the shaking stops. Anna goes out of the castle to check on the people outside. Kristoff and Catherine catch up to her.

"What was that? Are you alright? Is anyone hurt?" Kristoff asked.

"No, everyone in the castle are fine. But what was that?" Anna worriedly asked. Then, Alistair came running towards them.

"Queen Anna, you might want to see this." Alistair tells her, and they go with Alistair to the north district of Arendelle. A lot of people have crowded, looking at what looks to be a large glacier that has appeared on the fjord that connects Arendelle to the province of Ulvefjorden.

"What is that?" Catherine worriedly asked.

"But, it's summer! And that glacier, it's blocking the entire fjord!" Anna exclaimed.

In Stockholm…

"My king, there is a situation at the bay area." Charles' guard captain tells him. The Swedish king quickly got up and leave the royal palace.

A lot of people are crowded on the docks overlooking the bay. Charles makes his way through the masses to see what happened. The entire bay entering Stockholm has gone dry, leaving the sea vessels, including a fleet of Swedish battleships stuck on the seafloor.

"What? How did this happen?" Charles asked.

"The people said that a massive whirlpool appeared at the center of the bay, and the water disappeared quickly, and so did the whirlpool, my king." The captain replied. Charles look at his people. They are all terrified of what happened. No one can explain what just took place.

"Send a telegram to the capital. The Empress should be informed about this ahead of time. Prepare my horse. I am leaving for Elsastad as soon as possible." Charles tells his captain.

A/N: WELCOME to what I think will be my "last" AU series for Frozen. After this, I am done. Maybe. I don't know. It depends.

Reviews are alright, as long as it is free of derogatory remarks. Happy reading.
