-Foreword-

For the story's sake, Shalltear won't always kill everything in her way. I will try to not make her too much out of character, but I can't let her just drain everyone out of blood in Orario. The story would be short... and tragic.

There is no schedule for when the next chapters come out; I'll simply write whenever I feel like it.

I would like some constructive criticism about my work as well. I always appreciate the support.

Enjoy reading my fanfic and don't be too harsh on me. Thank you!

Update 0.1: With the reviews I received from everyone, which I really appreciated by the way, I made some drastic changes to the story to make it seem more like if it was Shalltear rather than an OC.

Update 0.2: I completed the first chapter of this story! Enjoy reading.

Update 0.3: Well... You kept on pointing out more mistakes in my Yggdrasil and DanMachi knowledge, so I had to update it once more. This is most likely the last update you'll see on this chapter.

Chapter 1 – The Dungeon Is Not Beautiful At All

After 12 years of existence, the YGGDRASIL servers will shut down.

The Great Tomb of Nazarick is the guild headquarters of Ainz Ooal Gown, widely renowned for being an unconquerable dungeon throughout YGGDRASIL and will soon become a relic of the past.

Wandering through the first three floors is Shalltear Bloodfallen, one of the strongest NPCs in Nazarick. She had the appearance of a fourteen-year-old girl and could only be described as a true beauty. She has a pale skin with crimson red eyes and fine facial features. Her silver hairs are tied in a ponytail through a large ribbon on top of it all, allowing anyone to see a full view of her face.

Shalltear is of the [True Vampire] race but looks quite different. True vampires are monstrous undead with very few human qualities. Among the most creepy-looking vampires of YGGDRASIL, true vampires are even uglier than the others. They look like a horrible mix of bat and human. Shalltear's beautiful appearance is just a result of customization by her creator.

She was wearing a soft black dress with a big heavy skirt. Her upper body is dressed in a lace embellished ribbon and a short-tailored jacket.

She obviously had no idea that YGGDRASIL, her native world, was ending but her master and leader of the supreme beings, Momonga-sama seemed very sad when he came to see her earlier.

[23:59:30]

Thinking back on it, the vampire wanted to comfort her beloved master, but she just stared at him instead. She will have to apologize to him later.

[23:59:45]

Why did she not do anything? Her master was in pain and she simply let him be. What if he were to leave her and the other denizens of Nazarick as a result?

[23:59:55]

She'd do literally anything that could help cheer his mood, but she didn't know exactly what could…

[56]…

[57]…

[58]…

[59]…

[00:00:00]

At midnight, a bright light struck and surrounded the vampire. She instinctively covered her eyes as to not get blinded by it.

'An enemy attack?'

Shalltear had no idea how anyone could manage to sneak in on her without triggering Nazarick's defences before, but now that she has been attacked, she had to retaliate quickly as it was her duty to keep those floors safe from threats.

She changed into her blood-colored full plate armor with a pair of wings, equipped her Spuit Lance, and put on her various items given to her by her beautiful creator, Lord Peroroncino.

The bright light around Shalltear dimmed and then vanished.

Finally, free from this blinding sight, she looked at her surroundings. She seemed to be in an underground passageway, or some kind of cave. There were a few coloured crystals that emitted a dim light on the walls and ceiling, but the cave remained dark. Fortunately for Shalltear, this was not a big problem. With her night vision on, her eyes started glowing crimson red. The cave was too bland to be a part of the holy realm that is the Great Tomb of Nazarick.

More than bland, it was revolting! The walls were sprayed in blood and moss was everywhere around the cave. Shalltear pinched her nose from this horrid smell. She could not tolerate to stay in a sick place like this!

Indeed, this place did not look like anywhere within Nazarick! There did not seem to be any dangerous entities nearby. Did the intruders teleport her away to this strange place? Then, there might be enemies still hiding to catch her off guard. She was a guardian of the Great Tomb of Nazarick afterall… Showing a weakness is intolerable.

Her objective should be to quickly return to Nazarick, but she couldn't teleport directly the tomb due to security. Luckily, she knows places near her home. She had visited the swamps that surrounded the Great Tomb of Nazarick quite a few times already along with Lord Peroronchino.

At the thought of her creator, the vampire smiled. She really missed her beautiful lord and creator though… But now isn't the time for that. She had to go back to her duties, eliminate the threat at all cost and apologize to Lord Momonga for the inconvenience.

"[Gate]"

A black oval shaped hole suddenly appeared and quickly shut itself.

"W-why is it not working!" Shalltear exclaimed. Now she was scared. If this didn't work, then she was in deep trouble.

"[Gate], [Gate], [Gate], [Gate], [Gate]!"

She casted the gate spell over and over…

And every time, the gate appeared and closed in on itself without letting anything enter it. For the first time in her life, or unlife in that case, Shalltear felt like she was sweating heavily due to the stressful situation she was in. She had no way to teleport anywhere close to Nazarick! That was very bad!

"O-okay, c-calm down Shalltear… Everything will be fine…"

Once she seemed to have calmed herself down a little bit, she examined her surroundings once more. She was in a strange and not beautiful looking underground passageway.

While wondering where exactly she was, Shalltear began moving forward, turning some corners, and choosing new paths. The cave seemed like an underground labyrinth. If that were the case, could she have been teleported in the enemy guild base?

She kept walking forward until she sensed something creeping close behind her back.

*Splash*

She turned at the speed of light to slay whatever individual or creature that tried to sneak in on her. Looking at the corpse, it looked like a dark humanoid monster that had long arms with three claws that are sharp like knives.

It made her recall the shadow demons. Shadow demons can hide their presence quite easily. Could it be that this was how it sneaked in on her? Because Shalltear should be supposed to sense anything that gets near her unless they have ranger or ninja skills.

But this one seemed strange… It was as if it decided to reveal its presence before striking and it was as if it came out of the walls. That's quite weird. She didn't recall shadow demons being able to phase through walls at all.

She kept on moving forward either way, unsure of where to go to leave this sick underground cavern.

Still, she had to remain vigilant; the enemy might be waiting for her to lower her guard, and strike at that moment. She couldn't afford to stand easy when sent into an unknown environment against her will.

Turning a corner, she saw a dead end. Nothing special except that at the end of the hallway, lay a chest.

'Should I go for it? No. It's obviously a trap.'

Shalltear told herself those words but began moving forward anyways. She was way too curious of what would happen if she were to open the chest to stop herself from opening it.

It was simply curiosity that made her move closer and closer to the chest. But if it would make the enemy reveal itself, then good. Even if it wasn't a trap, she doubted that there could be any weapon or item of enough value for her in there, but there might still be a clue as to how to leave this disgusting cavern.

Once in proximity to the chest, she bent forward in her blood coloured armour and lifted the chest's opening. What seemed to be inside was-

"A frog?!" Shalltear exclaimed in surprise. It was a giant frog with one large red eye that glowed in the dark, just like hers.

While Shalltear wasn't sure if this was supposed to be an enemy, the one-eyed frog used her reaction as a commotion to shoot out its tongue at the vampire.

*Splash*

The vampire dodged its tongue and pierced it with her Spuit Lance, bearing a bored look on her face.

'What an easy to kill monster…'

Everything in this cave is so weak that it annoyed her. She had trouble staying awake and ready to fight the enemy that could be following her. Was this what they were trying to accomplish? Were they waiting for her to lower her guard and then strike at that moment? Either way, she couldn't allow herself to lower her guard further, even if it was difficult against such boring creatures.

"GRRRRR!"

Shalltear was caught once more by surprise thanks to a monster that she didn't sense coming her way. Very strange… It was as if monsters came out of the walls… Turning back, she saw a big bear with red glowing eyes similar to her vampire night vision.

The bear blocked the way back out of the dead end.

Launching himself towards the vampire, he thrust his hands in the hair, ready to strike once within range and let out a roar.

"RAAAA-"

*Splash*

The bear monster did not have time to finish his roar when he felt something piercing through him. The vampire had slayed it with ease and at such speed that the bear could not even know what was going on before hitting the ground.

*Thud*

"What a weak creature…" Shalltear muttered to herself looking at the bear's corpse hitting the ground.

Right after saying this, white rabbits with red glowing eyes emerged from the walls.

… And all of them were ripped apart in mid air. Not a single one of them managed to hit their target. Those beasts could not even be considered a threat to Shalltear.

So that ambush confirmed that monsters came out of the walls, despite that it still didn't explain how they were doing it. She would have to remain diligent about that. The enemies could very well use these walls to their advantage.

She looked down at the monster rabbits that she just encountered.

'What even are those… things.' Shalltear thought.

Being someone that value beauty a lot made her disgusted in those vile creatures that tried to jump on her without knowing what kind of doom they were going up against.

The fact that she was ambushed by so many monsters in a dead end made her think that this still was some kind of trap set up by the enemy along with the trapped chest. Yet, it was still a trap that was ridiculously easy to counter due to the monsters' lack of any fighting power. What was the point in sending in those beasts if they wouldn't even be able to land an attack on her?

There was still one thing that bothered her; what was up with those disgusting creatures' eyes? All of them glowed red as if it was some kind of mind control magic that makes them go berserk on anyone.

Her eyes also glowed red in the dark, but it wasn't because she was being mind controlled, it was simply her vampire night vision. The thought of being associated with mindless fodder made her quite annoyed.

She wasn't the brightest NPC in Nazarick, but thinking back on her current situation, she knew that something was wrong. She had been teleported to a cave-like labyrinth faraway from her home that is filled with berserk monsters she had not seen before in her unlife.

Anger and frustration were what the vampire currently felt. The anger boiling within her released enough bloodlust to scare off any other monster that got too close to her. Did that mean even when somehow mind controlled, those beasts could feel fear?

She had no idea what to do about her current situation and that is what angered her the most. The [Gate] spell did not work, and she had no way out. This labyrinth was like a big puzzle that was beyond Shalltear's cognitive abilities.

The vampire did not know for how long she had been standing lost in thought in this dead end, staring at the walls in confusion, but it was clear that having a simple mind won't help her getting out of here.

To relieve some of her current stress, Shalltear decided that it would be best to blow up the entire cave and find a way out using that method until-

"Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!"

The voice of someone screaming got closer and closer to her.

Because of her curiosity, the vampire decided to put her destruction project on hold and wait for the individual to come nearer. If said person was capable of intelligent thoughts, then he might be able to tell her how to get out of here. Or else, she could force him to do so with the 4th tier spell [Charm Species].

The person's footsteps drew nearer and then ran into the same dead end that Shalltear was caught in.

The footsteps belonged to a cute white-haired kid that couldn't be older than fourteen years old. In terms of appearance, Shalltear and the kid both looked to be of the same age. His only protection was a metal plate on his chest, and he had a broken shortsword in his hand that he must've broke while facing the monster running right behind him.

The monster running close behind him was some kind of beastman with red glowing eyes. Seriously, what was up with the red glowing eyes? The boy also had red eyes but at least his didn't glow. That meant that whatever effect was on the monsters, the kid wasn't affected. It was surprising to see that a human had red eyes despite clearly not being a vampire. Were humans with red eyes a common thing in whatever hellhole she had been directed to?

The kid was still running up to her. Did he not notice her eyes? Shouldn't Shalltear be considered one of those abominations because she has the very same characteristics those monsters had all in common?

As a vampire, she loved tormenting humans and the sight of the kid, being chased by a bull was a quite pleasing sight.

'Still, if I want information on where I am and what is up with the red eyed creatures, it might be good to keep the kid alive.'

As the boy went past Shalltear without even looking at her, she snapped out of her thoughts.

She looked back at the kid who was stuck in the dead end and looked at Shalltear in fear. She had an impressive armour and weapon afterall. It would be obvious to anyone that she was stronger and more experienced in fighting.

She didn't blame the kid at all for recognizing her as a creation of the divine, but if she was being antagonized, then that proved her glowing red eye theory correct. She felt disgusted to be compared to these creatures. Afterall, she was a very lovable monster.

Shalltear sighed and turned back to face the bull monster.

With speeds far faster than what the normal human eye could see, Shalltear launched herself forward at the bull. Without giving it the time to retaliate, she sliced the beast in half with her Spuit Lance.

She felt a deep pleasure as a rain of blood came out of the beast. As a vampire, she found the greatest pleasures in blood. Taking that much at once could make her go into a blood frenzy if it wasn't for the armour that protected her against such drawbacks of getting soaked in blood. A blood frenzy would certainly make her go berserk and that is not the best course of action when wanting basic information from a weak little human.

Shalltear turned back and faced the cute boy who did not have an armour that absorbed blood and got soaked in the beast's blood from head to toe. When he took in her beautiful facial feature, he immediately turned his gaze away, blushing, but remained shaking in fear.

That was only to be expected. She was a creation of the supreme beings afterall. Anyone should be mesmerized by her beauty for it is the work of superior beings to the rest of the universe. Being afraid of such divine entity is also a valid option

And then Shalltear's sexual desires made her think of the many things she could've done to him. Shame he was a boy, though he did look kind of like a girl. It might be fine if he were to cross-dress after being turned into a vampire servant-

'Wait! This isn't the time for silly daydreaming!'

After snapping out of her inappropriate thoughts that had nothing to do with her current situation, Shalltear straightened her back and took a stance that suggested superiority before speaking to the human child.

"My, my~. You were quite in the predicament~ before I came in and saved you~." She casually said in a playful tone before hesitantly continuing: "Are you alright?" She said through gritted teeth.

Never in her life would she have believed to ever need to show concern for a lowly human. Yet, this act was necessary to ensure the boy's collaboration in getting information since she knew nothing of the place as to get out.

Again, she could've used the spell [Charm Species], but it would be unnecessary if the boy were to give her the information anyway.

Yet, instead of responding, the boy, covered in blood, backed away, got up and ran away from the vampire all the while screaming.

Shalltear giggled. Seeing weaklings running away from her is always quite a pleasing sight.

'How can he scream so much? Is it a skill that allows him to boost his physical strength the longer he screams?'

Lost in her contemplation, the boy got away. However, that would be practically nothing to Shalltear who could catch up to him very quickly if she wanted to do so.

She knew the reason of his screaming and quick departure.

Shalltear was a vampire, and this was a poorly lighted cave-like dungeon. A vampire's eyes glow crimson red when in the dark, just like all the other crazy monsters in this stupid labyrinth. Of course, the kid would run for his life after meeting a monster that easily killed another monster that could kill him easily.

'What should I do now? He didn't go very far, and I could catch up to him quickly. Although I wanted to blow up this underground labyrinth, I think I calmed down enough to-'

"WAAHAAHAAAHAA! THAT BOY WAS PATHETIC! AIS, DID YOU SEE THAT?" Shalltear made a small jump of surprise as she wasn't expecting anyone else. It seems that two other humans saw the boy running away.

The cute boy was long gone and there were two pairs of footsteps nearing the corner of the corridor. If they saw her eyes, they would either run away or foolishly try to kill her. In both cases, she wouldn't get the information that she needed to get out of this dungeon. She wasn't used to deal with humans. Usually, she just killed anyone that entered her floors in Nazarick.

Quickly looking through her inventory, she found a magical ring that would hide her vampire traits skill-wise. Perfect. While lacking part of her skills, she doubted that it would be a problem and it will allow her eyes to stop glowing. They would still be red, but if the boy from earlier also had red eyes, then that would not be a problem.

Shalltear had barely had time to put the Hide Undead Abilities Ring on until the two newcomers turned the corner and walked towards her.

"HE GOT ENTIRELY COVERED IN BLOOD, SO I THINK I'LL CALL HIM TOMATO BOY! HAHAHAHA!" The young man that was walking towards her while laughing looked quite… strange.

While her night vision was off because of the ring, she could still make out a few details. The man had gray hair and a blue tattoo on the left side of his face. His muscular physique could easily be seen because the jacket he was wearing. It was so small that it could have belonged to a child. While opened, the jacket showed the man's abs.

Yet, that wasn't what was the strangest feature on him. The man had animal ears on the top of his head along with a tail hanging from his arse.

Those features reminded her of the characters in the sacred texts Lord Peroronchino gave her. It's a shame that he's a man. Perhaps there exists more cute animal girls outside of this stupid dungeon? If so, she'd definitely try to bring some of these animal girls over to her harem in Nazarick after converting them into vampire brides-

'No! Now is not the time for this! I need to find my way out and go back home… The animal girls can wait their turn.'

She then looked at the young woman that accompanied the man. She seemed calmed and composed, the direct opposite of the man. She was a very beautiful woman, not beyond the human realm like Shalltear, but beautiful, nonetheless. She had golden hair, golden eyes, and a slender body. She is wearing a white and black battle cloth with blue booths and a sword on her back.

Just by looking at the woman with the sword, Shalltear felt an immense sensual pleasure that was very difficult to hide. Her underwear began to soak in liquid.

It was definite.

She had to eventually bring this woman into her harem in Nazarick and transform her into a vampire bride. She was simply too beautiful for Shalltear to let go. But that could wait for later. Right now, she needed to find her way out.

She had to properly greet the approaching figures. They didn't seem scared of her at all. This meant that the Remove Undead Abilities Ring worked! She did not have the facial features of a vampire anymore. Her eyes were still red but didn't glow and her fangs became invisible. Yet, with her red eyes along with her skin remaining very pale, she still looked a lot like a vampire.

Her night vision was off, and she realised that the cave was very dark. Those crystals on the ceiling did help seeing where one was going, but that was pretty much it. The two humans in front of her probably won't even realise that she is a vampire.

She will properly greet them like someone of superior standing would-

"H-hi." Was all Shalltear could think of saying to the woman she just fell deeply in love with. She felt embarrassed that she lost her cool while talking with humans. The man was currently busy laughing very hard at the kid she saved earlier. She had to agree that the boy was quite comical. She would've laughed at it too if it wasn't for the very stressful situation that she found herself in with seemingly no answer.

"Hi." The beauty with the sword answered back. It seemed like the two of them didn't feel like doing small talk at the moment, or perhaps that was how the swordswoman usually was? It wasn't until a few seconds of silence between the two of them that she bowed and said: "We must apologize for the trouble we've caused you. The minotaurs were not supposed to roam throughout these floors. We scared them on the lower floors, so it was our mistake."

'Floors?! Just how big is this dungeon?!'

"Ah-eh it's fine… I dealt with it easily." Shalltear replied, looking away from the woman in the hopes of calming down her desires. She was also confused by how a monster she considered fodder was treated as some kind of dangerous monster.

'Ah! Humans are so weak…That must be it!'

"Oy! Which familia are you from? Slaying a level 2 monster like that is quite impressive." The man with animal ears and a tail had finally cooled down and arrogantly asked Shalltear. His question, however, seemed to confuse her even more.

'Familia? Level 2? Sure, that monster was quite weak, but I wouldn't call that level 2. More like around level 15-20.'

"And what is a familia~?" She asked. The other two raised their brows. Her question must've been asking for something obvious.

She hated it.

She was giving away the fact that she was a foreigner. At least, they probably won't recognize her being a vampire thanks to the lack of lighting in the cave.

"A familia… You know, like the god that gives you the blessing!" The young man said, clearly finding Shalltear's ignorance very funny while her newest crush remained silent, eyeing her suspiciously. Shalltear wasn't sure if the girl was scared of her and noticed that she was not human, or it was something else entirely.

Shalltear seemed to ponder over the question for a moment. 'A god that gave me the blessing… Oh I see! That would be-'

"Peroronchino-sama gave me the blessing!" Shalltear exclaimed in pride. She was proud of her creator and would happily boast about him anytime. Hearing the name of her god, she was almost certain that these two will immediately prostate before her in fear. Then, she could kill the animal man and add the swordswoman to her harem in Nazarick.

"Peroronchino? Never heard of that name. Have you Ais?" The woman, supposedly named Ais, shook her head as if to say no.

Shalltear was at first shocked and then furious that these two didn't give a care in the world about her creator, her god, but tried to hold her feelings inside for the moment. She could not show those emotions in front of humans. They had to see that Shalltear was flawless, unlike them and their pitiful existence.

As long as she had no idea where she had been transported to, she would have to endure the people slandering her creator's name. The other reason being that she couldn't get her newest crush, named Ais, if she was already dead.

"Do you happen~ to know which way is the exit to the dungeon~?" Shalltear asked the two humans in front of her, trying her best to sound calm and composed. She tried not to shout this sentence out to relieve her current indignation hearing their ignorance about the supreme beings. She was in a dungeon, that she knew, but every dungeon has an exit. At least she thinks so.

"Umph. You got lost on the fifth floor? Just follow the tomato boy's blood trail; he's going in the right direction." The young man said nonchalantly.

"Mkay~." Shalltear told the man just before taking off and running, following the blood trail.

'Fifth floor? Okay… So, does that mean I'm pretty far down in this dungeon or the floors are not as big as those in Nazarick? Probably the latter.'

Dungeon, 4th Floor

Shalltear was following the blood trail left behind by the kid she saved earlier.

Looking at the bloodied floor without loosing control of herself was very difficult. If it wasn't for the fact that the blood belonged to a disgusting bull man and laid on the floor of this sickening cavern, she'd already have collected the blood to drink it later with her [Blood Pool] skill.

The lack of challenge in this dungeon plus the boring never-ending corridors filled with darkness made Shalltear a bit sleepy even if the undead didn't require sleep.

She placed her hand over her mouth and started to yawn.

Ever since saving the boy on the fifth floor and talking to the animal guy with the sword beauty, she hadn't encountered anyone.

She blushed once more thinking about her new crush whom she heard the animal guy calling her Ais. Little did she know that the kid she saved earlier would later end up stealing her crush's heart. Thinking about Ais did help curing Shalltear's current boredom, but that wasn't enough. Killing a few humans would certainly be entertaining.

Thinking back on it, she regretted not killing the kid and the animal guy. But if Ais saw her do that, she would certainly try to kill Shalltear and end up mutilated as a result. That would mean wasting that perfect body of hers. No, she couldn't afford to displease her in any way.

While walking through an unusually small corridor, her hearing picked up on something.

"CLOMP. CLOMP. CLOMP."

Shalltear could hear the sound of a large creature crawling somewhere not too faraway in the dungeon. While it was off the kid's blood trail, she was way too curious to just let it go.

She turned some corners and ran through the corridors at full speed. She then eventually reached a big circular room with a high ceiling and many other entrances to it.

In the center of said room stood a strange creature.

It was a snake-like monster with eight legs at each side of its body. This monster's head had a huge crown-like horn and had a tough skin. Its length was about 4 meters and it had the dungeon's monsters' recurring characteristic; glowing red eyes.

Its many tiny legs started to move forward quite fast. It almost looked like the lizard monster was gliding his way towards Shalltear. Its mouth opened to reveal a set of spiky teeth, ready to bite the head off any opponents that got unlucky enough to stand in this monster's way.

The lizard monster seemed very weak, but Shalltear still wanted to test something out on him. She leaked out a bit of bloodlust to see what would happen to the lizard monster in front of her.

And…

As expected, it backed away and ran from her as fast as it could. That meant that whatever curse or brainwashing device was set on these monsters did not make them mindless creatures. They still had a survival instinct, so it was good to know. If monsters couldn't feel fear, then there was no fun in killing them.

*Splash*

In a flash, she pierced right through the reptile using her lance. Great! He must've been desperate towards the end of his life. That was enough to make her feel good. A slight bit of blood sprayed over her, but it was sucked up by her armour so there was no chance of her loosing control.

Still, it would've been more fun to kill a human. Yes, she really needed to relieve her current pain of being stripped away from her home on one of these puny humans. She'd start by dismembering them and then wait for them to beg for their lives before draining all of the blood inside their bodies.

A smile of deep pleasure spread across her cheeks, however, Shalltear forcefully snapped herself out of the beautiful scenes in her mind. Her mind was going off topic far too much to her liking. She almost forgot what her situation she was in right now.

'Momonga-sama and the rest of Nazarick relies too much on me! I can't let them down like that! I have to find my way back home as soon as possible! Nothing else matters!' She told herself firmly. She knew that she was going to get scolded, but it didn't matter at this point.

She turned back to look at the many passageways that lead to this strange circular room and tried to remember which one she came from. She then glanced back at the lifeless monster laying on the ground.

'What a boring creature… I shouldn't have given in to my curiosity… Now I got lost again!'

Shalltear's pleasure from tormenting the lizard monster was gone. Instead, it was replaced by anger. She was mad at herself for getting lost a second time, thinking about things that had nothing to do with her current objective. As a creation of the supreme beings, showing any flaw would be unthinkable. But why did she get the feeling that she was the only person having this kind of problems?

After facepalming for the twentieth time, she heard a man's voice from behind her accompanied by a few snickers.

"Well, well. Looks like a little girl got lost in the dungeon." Shalltear jumped in surprise. While she was busy being furious with herself, she hadn't payed attention to her surroundings and didn't notice a group of men entering the large, circular room.

It wasn't the first time that she had been caught off guard in the dungeon, but those times were from the red eye monsters that came out of the walls. This time, they were humans. They definitely did not come out of the walls.

Shalltear turned around to look at the group that caught her off guard.

The group consisted of five men armed to the teeth with low level weapons. She supposed that they were some of the mercenaries that kill monsters inside the dungeon.

After being done examining the group, Shalltear processed in her head what the man had said to her. It sounded like the introduction to a bully's speech. Good. She might be able to lash out on them under the pretext of being insulted.

"Ah~? And what is it that you want~?" Shalltear replied calmly, though she was slightly enjoying this. These men that dared to treat her as some human child will have to eventually pay, but right now, she'll tease them just for fun.

She in fact did look like a kid so she couldn't necessarily get mad at them for this. Also, with the Remove Undead Abilities Ring on, there was no way to know she was a vampire under the cave's darkness so that guess was pretty understandable. It was only because she couldn't age, that was why she looked like a fourteen-year-old girl.

The men snickered even more, and a few smiles could be seen across their faces. They were mocking her for being calm in this exchange of words that was certainly going to end up in a fight.

She responded with small smile of her own that the adventurers could not see under the cave's darkness. It was a predatory smile.

'Both sides think they have the advantage over the other. How amusing. These men are the perfect preys to torment until they beg me for mercy.'

The man who spoke to her earlier, whom she supposed was the leader of the group walked forward while slightly grinning to the side of the room where Shalltear currently stood. He began speaking once more.

"Anyways. What is a noble girl like you doing all by yourself in the dungeon? You have a pretty nice armour by the way, mind giving it to us?"

"Ha-ha! Oh~? And what makes you think~ I'd give it away so easily~?" Shalltear replied in an amused tone while in truth, she felt like a mix of anger and excitement on the inside. All the men burst out laughing. She didn't like the fact that these lowly humans looked down on her and the supreme beings, even if indirectly. Yet, at the same time, she felt exited for the one-side slaughter that will ensue.

'How dare they want to put their hands on equipment bestowed to me by the supreme beings! Such blasphemy cannot be left unpunished!'

It was decided. She was going to make them all suffer in the worst way possible. She was done being friendly with humans in this stupid gross dungeon. She'll find the way out on her own.

The leader seemed to have realised that Shalltear had a wicked smile upon her face. Much to her surprise, he didn't feel scared by it. On the contrary, he found the girl's pointless efforts quite fun to watch.

"Oi. What's that look on your pretty face? Are you mad at us? What are you going to do, miss? Call your royal guards? Fwahahahah-a-"

*Splash*

The men's eyes on the other side of the room widened in shock. With what seemed to be a blur, they found the beautiful girl right in front of the leader, with her fingers piercing right through his hearth. How did she move so fast?

"Kukukuku."

She was giggling.

Her face remained hidden behind the leader's body, who seemed to have already died given the lack of reaction coming from him.

'She's insane!' Was what most of the adventurers thought.

*Drop*

The leader's body slowly descended to reveal the giggling little girl, sprayed in blood with her head lowered and her silver hair shrouding her face.

Her armour and lance were nowhere to be found. She instead wore an exquisitely crafted dress, which seemed to be wreathed in darkness. Only nobles could afford that kind of dress, that was certain, but which noble family is that girl from? No one in their right mind would enjoy killing so mercilessly.

"Ahahaaahahahahahaaaahahhahahahhh!"

Her giggle moved on to laugher. Shalltear laughed and laughed and laughed. It echoed through the whole dungeon floor as the girl slowly raised her head again.

The face they saw made the adventurers feel like their hearts were being crushed in their chests.

The color flowing out of her pupils had dyed her eyes glowed crimson red, and the two neat rows of white teeth in her mouth now resembled a shark's gaping maw. A lewd pink glow leaked from her throat as transparent saliva drooled from her mouth.

Shalltear's current appearance was her original look as a True Vampire. In other words, her usual appearance was merely a sham. Shalltear's usual beautiful appearance is merely the result of customization by her creator.

"Ahahaaahahaahaahahaa!"

Shalltear bared her fangs and grinned, so wide that the corners of her mouth almost touched her ears. She laughed several dozen times. Whimpers of despair filled the air of the dungeon.

Though they were in a cavern, it seemed as though even the air could not bear it and joined in with the resounding echoes.

Despite the distance between them, they could scent blood on her breath. Due to the intensity of the stench, it seemed as though even the air was turning red.

"Uwaaaaaah!"

Overcome by panic, one of the adventurers screamed all the while running towards the girl that had transformed in this horrific creature. With his sword in hand, he was ready to strike once within range.

She turned to look at the adventurer that was running her way. She stepped forward and punched.

*Splash*

She did not even put her back into it. It was a simple, casual punch. That said, it was possessed of extraordinary speed and its destructive power was immense.

Her hand pierced the body of the adventurer she had punched, sending him flying into a wall of the cavern. Blood spilled everywhere on the monster. She laughed again and then spoke in a sinister voice:

"It's uselessssssss~ But you still tried so haaaaaaarrrrrrd~"

She took a step forward, and then she leapt.

The ceiling was about five meters above the cave floor. The girl jumped high enough to reach out and touch it easily. In a matter of seconds, she landed right in front of the remaining members.

*Splash*

"Hahaha, hahaha, hahahahaha!"

One more man decapitated by the monster, no, terror incarnate. It laughed more and more as blood from the man's head spilled everywhere. It was literally dancing under the rain.

The two remaining men, sprayed in blood, turned around and ran away as fast as they could without looking back at the abomination in fear for their lives.

One of the two fleeing men stumbled, rolling beneath Shalltear's feet.

"Spare me! Please! I won't do anything bad again!"

As she looked on the man, crying and whimpering for mercy as he grabbed her leg, Shalltear's face split into a predatory grin. The adventurer immediately understood what that smile meant, and his face turned pale.

"Hahahahahahahahaha! Whaaaaat's that look on your face, are you scaaaaared~?"

"Noooo! Stop!"

*Splash*

The remaining adventurer ran as fast as he could without looking back until something grabbed ankle and made him fall on the ground. While he did no see what happened behind him, he knew what this meant.

He had not escaped from the clutches of that terrifying monster…

"Hahaha, hahaha, how fuuuuuuuuun~ Did you really think you could escape so easilyyyyyyyyy~ Nooooooooooope~" She said as she stuck her tongue out at him.

"Spare, spare me"

"Noooooooooope! I haven't fed in soooooooooo looooooong~"

Her mouth opened until it was past her ears, until it was big enough to gulp an entire skull down.

*Splash*

The five adventurers were unfortunately too slow for the vampire that was currently in a blood frenzy.

Blood frenzy: the more blood a vampire's body is covered in, the stronger it becomes, and its attack power soars. Because of that, it will slowly lose control of its mind and becomes unable to hold back its urge to slaughter.

Without those mental brakes, the vampire will indiscriminately massacre any prey it sees. To prevent activating it, the vampire needs to fight while avoiding getting hit with blood or sucking it up with a weapon or other equipment.

In Shalltear's case, she had taken off the Remove Undead Abilities Ring and her blood absorbing armour along with the lance and replaced it with the casual dress set lord Peroroncino gave her to allow herself to go into a blood frenzy.

Those adventurers who insulted the supreme beings had to die in despair.

But now that she was into a blood frenzy, she seeked more blood.

Five measly adventurers are simply not enough. She was now going to go in a rampage in the dungeon, following the scent of blood, which so happened to be more present in the upper floors.

A small smile came across her face. Still, while she was in her true vampire form, the smile appeared so wide that the corners of her mouth almost touched her ears. With a bit of luck, she might find her way out as well.

A rampage, murder, and blood.

Yes, that was just what she needed to lighten her current mood.

Not only was she stripped away from her home to be sent in this sickening place that lacked any beauty, but the humans here did not mind being disrespectful towards the supreme beings. That, she could not tolerate.

Dungeon, 3rd Floor

After killing a few more dozens of adventurers down on the fourth floor, she had the luck of encountering another party at the top of the staircase to the third floor. It was as if the third floor wanted to give her a welcoming party.

"Monster in sight! Ready your position!" A man in the group instructed.

Shalltear looked on her targets with a smile.

They were a disciplined, well-trained party.

They positioned themselves ready to take her on. There were two warriors in the front line, one ranger in the middle and one magic caster in the rear.

Four of them in total, and although they were surprised at the sight of Shalltear as she emerged from the stairs of the fourth floor, they calmly went on alert, a movement born of accumulated experience.

"That's gooooooood~"

Although it was not bad to slaughter weak humans, stronger opponents like this were way more interesting to kill.

Their cute show of resistance was the last straw that broke the back of Shalltear's wavering self-control.

"Yeeeehaaaaaahaaahahaha!"

With a cry like she had torn free of her bindings, Shalltear stepped forward.

*Splash*

She pierced one of the frontliners' shield, shattered his armor, ripped straight through his skin, muscle and bone, and closed around the heart which had been beating just a moment ago. And then, she tore it out.

As she stood over the body of the collapsed warrior, the panicked adventurers took a few steps back in fear of the calamity that stood in front of them.

The monster's mouth that opened to the height of her ears was in a semi-circular shape, and the two canines within it were long enough that they reached her chin. Her brilliant scarlet eyes were the color of blood, and she had claws that were about ten centimeters long.

Two of them turned to look at the third man in the back without taking their eyes off Shalltear.

"What do we do now, boss?"

"Retreat's going to be hard! It's too fast! Attack!"

""YES!""

As they answered in unison, they began their counterattack.

The remaining frontliner charged in Shalltear's direction with his sword pointing directly at her, ready to pierce right through her body.

"Geeeeet looooooosst!" Shalltear spoke in a loud, sinister voice.

*Splash*

She casually swiped her right hand, but this careless blow was enough to behead the sword-wielding warrior, sending him to the ground in a spray of blood.

While the magic caster began chanting something she could only guess was the preparation to a magic spell, the other ranger that wielded a bow and arrows made five consecutive shots that bounced off Shalltear's body, including one going right to the head, which would've been fatal to any human being.

Yet, the monster in front of them remained standing and the arrows simply bounced off its body. She laughed, and a snarl appeared on her face. Such low-level attacks could not affect her in any way.

"Im… Impossible…" Was the only word the archer managed to mutter.

*Splash*

In the blink of an eye, the archer ended up impaled as Shalltear pierced through his abdomen and slowly moved her hand upwards, slicing the man in half.

The magic caster finished is chanting his spell and took a few steps forward.

Shalltear didn't mind it. While she was in a blood frenzy, she remained curious about what would that man throw at her, so she endured the urge to slaughter him before he finished his spell.

"Take this, monster! [Pilar of Flames]!" He practically shouted, throwing all he got against this powerful foe that had ended the lives of his companions.

A magic circle formed on the ground beneath Shalltear's feet, and as the name of the spell suggests, a huge pillar of flames erupted from the magic circle and covered her in intense fire.

"Ahahaaahahaahaahahaa!"

Shalltear laughed so hard that anyone who was currently on the third floor would no doubt hear her. She didn't mind it though. She was quite confident in her strength to defeat any foe that dared to stand in her way.

The fire attack didn't hurt her at all, yet this was nonetheless the strongest attack she had yet to see ever since being sent into the dungeon. The attack reminded her of one of her own spells, [Vermilion Nova], but by far weaker. The man's spell also required chanting a whole paragraph, so it was quite inconvenient.

She jumped on the magic caster and grabbed onto him in the air, her long tongue caressing the man's body and then slowly encircling his neck. And then, she tightened. The pressure around his neck made the man choke.

"Guwaaaaaar!"

She was surprised when he managed to squeeze out a cry of pain while chocking.

After hearing the magic caster's cries, Shalltear was quite pleased with herself, and decided to grant him mercy and end his torment. Her large mouth opened and swallowed his whole head.

*Splash*

Tearing the man's head off, blood spread everywhere in the dark room of the dungeon.

If only Shalltear hadn't been busy tormenting this group of combatants before killing them in the most gruesome ways possible, she would've surely noticed the countless adventurers that bore witness to her massacre earlier and ran away as fast as they could to warn everyone about it.

"Thaaaaaaat waaaaas fuuuuuuuuuun~"

Shalltear grinned evilly as she stood within the silent hall of the cave which was now devoid of any movement.

'This should be good enough for now.' She told herself before returning to her usual beautiful form.

Her crusade was over.

Putting her blood-coloured armour with the pair of wings back on along with the Remove Undead Abilities Ring and her Spuit Lance, Shalltear looked completely normal, as if nothing happened a few minutes ago.

Now that she was composed, she could think clearly. She was currently on the third floor and had caused quite a bit of a commotion. Fortunately, it seems that no one saw her transform; they had already left to warn many, many more.

'I should perhaps move away from this gruesome scenery.'

She wasn't dumb enough to remain standing in the middle of this bloodbath, so she quickly left the staircase between the fourth and third floors, going upwards and ran through the corridors.

Of course, she could simply kill anyone that attempted to engage with her quite easily, but that would draw in too much attention to her case. If a few stronger adventurers were warned, she might have to take them seriously and reveal her beautiful humanoid-looking form. If that form was to be revealed as the same monster that caused the previous carnage, she was certain to be hunted down and recognized wherever she went. That wouldn't be a wise choice as long as she didn't know what lied beyond the dungeon.

When she was already far away on the third floor and from the bloodbath in the stairs, her hearing picked up on the sound of countless footsteps quickly moving in said direction.

It wasn't just a few adventurer parties; it was almost a small army squadron numbering in the fifties.

'Somebody really did see me and warned everyone else about it…' Shalltear was quite irritated. The probabilities of someone snitching while she was busy playing with her preys were quite high. Even more so during a blood frenzy when she pretty much looses her ability to think properly. That was a careless mistake on her part, but she at least managed to get away, so it wasn't that big of a deal.

"It's this way!" A male voice shouted. It was strong enough to resonate through the entire floor. It was fortunate that Shalltear had already moved on from her previous location.

Realising that the bloodbath could be used as a distraction, she moved around the army of adventurers and made her way to the staircase to the second floor.

It wasn't as difficult as finding her way on the 5th and 4th floors since the direction from which the adventurers came from gave her an approximate idea of where to go. It was almost ridiculous that Shalltear had trouble in the labyrinth with skills such as these at her disposal.

'I might eventually get out afterall… I'm curious of what lies above the dungeon. Perhaps a kingdom ruled by some demon king. Or one of the supreme beings' domain'.

Dungeon, 1st Floor

Shalltear was walking on the first floor of the dungeon. She was certain that she was close to reaching the dungeon's exit. It was just a hunch, but it still wasn't completely unfounded.

Her stroll through the dungeon's second and first floors was unusually quiet, especially for the closest floors to the surface which should've definitely been more crowded than the other floors.

The only probable reason she could come up with was that the adventurers were being very serious about her previous rampage on the fourth and third floors. All the adventurers must've been either dispatched to fight against the threat on the third floor or have been evacuated.

Even the monsters seemed less abundant. It seemed that the massive bloodlust she released while in her blood frenzy scared them all so much that they didn't dare peeking out of the walls.

Just for that reason, Shalltear thought that her massacre was very well worth it. Not only did that help her going up, but she also wouldn't have to face whatever vile creature that would dare to come out of the walls to lay its smelly hands on her.

She didn't care what happened to all the adventurers she killed mercilessly. All she wanted to do was to leave this horrid place she's been thrown into. This dungeon was not beautiful at all. The cave made her sick and the thought of being close to being done with it made her brim in anticipation.

A place with blood and moss sprayed on the cavern walls is unbefitting of holding someone of Shalltear's standing. She would have to somehow find and take a bath once she reaches the outside of the dungeon. As a creation of the supreme beings, Shalltear was superior to everything else that walked on this world. She could not tolerate being smelly in front of whatever puny human civilisation that currently laid above her head.

Thinking about it, she'd have to decide what to do once she reaches the exit to the dungeon. Besides taking a bath, she had absolutely no idea what to do. There might be some clues as to how to find her way back home, but while the hope was there, it remained very doubtful.

She turned a corner and then came to an abrupt halt-

At the end of the hallway was a spiral staircase that was going up.

'Is that… light?'

There was light coming out from the top of the staircase. Natural light, not a dim glow from crystals hanging on the walls and ceiling.

Shalltear knew what this meant.

She was almost there. She ran towards the light.

After all this struggle, she had finally found her way up.

I would like to thank everyone who left a review on the first chapter's sneak peak. I've read all the reviews and realized there was a lot of stuff wrong about Shalltear's personality and her overall YGGDRASIL abilities. The story might not have been as good if it wasn't for all of you giving me advice, so thanks a lot!
