Apokolips may have been hell given form, it may be a fiery pit of death and suffering, and yes it may constantly be a threat to your life given the hordes of Parademons and other cruel creatures that lived on it. But for Izuku Midoriya it was his home for the last eight years and he would honestly not trade them back for anything. He owed his life to the people who took him from his birth planet and gave him the strength to prove himself useful, and a threat that should not be underestimated. Now many might wonder why Izuku thought this way about arguably and definitely the most evil place in all of reality, well when you get down to it, they really weren't that bad. Sure they may bathe the stars and planets in the blood of countless people and kill anyone who gets in their path, but the same can be said for all planets really.
Even on his birth planet where Heroes and Villains fought each other on the hourly it still held the same principals, just with much less death involved but the basic concept remaining the same. Plus his time on Apokolips killed off all childness naiveite and ignorance that he had back on his Earth. Oh yeah that's right, he often forgot that dimensional travel was possible and that he was in another reality from his entirely. He recalled little of the specifics but knew that it was a Mother Box malfunction that tore him away from there, and brought him into the Apokolips science labs.
Of course seeing as how he was a child and not a threat in any perceivable way he was sent to the slave forces to work in the mines and construction crews for as long as he breathed. However after three years and building up his body and strength Izuku took the one way out of the labor force that would either end in death, or a less restrictive life, and that was to enter the sparring pits. Despite popular belief Apokolips still had a culture and its populace had many hobbies and or desire for entertainment if they were a high enough rank. And the most popular sport and form of entertainment was the sparring pits, an absolute bloodbath of battles for survival and coming out unscathed or praying that any damage received was easily healable. However if you were of a lower class you could volunteer to become a fighter in the rings and work your way up from the bottom to the top, where even Darkseid watched the fights, unfortunately due to the high death rates many slaves didn't volunteer for fear of their lives.
So when Izuku felt confident in his chances of survival when starting out he took his chance and entered into the arena's, now part of doing that was getting a slightly better barracks with an actual bed albeit having to share a room with dozens of other people, but that was only when you were at the bottom. Izuku however after five years of fighting managed to get himself to the big leagues, and he means THE big leagues. Much like how Darkseid would watch the higher level fights so too would the others of his elite, most prominently Granny Goodness as she was always looking for more promising warriors to recruit and train into her Furies. which was why when Izuku managed to defeat the champion of the Apokolips Arena not a year ago she took him in for special training and made him a warrior fit for battle.
He was taller most notably than many fifteen year old humans should be, reaching five foot eleven inches and wearing a physic that was not overly muscular but lean enough to be a threat without weapons or powers. Due to his time in the mines and in the years of fighting his body was littered with scars and cuts, such as the criss cross sword wound over his heart inflicted during his aforementioned fight against the champion. His hair was still the same as before keeping it's green color albeit darker and the ruffled look, but his face was much different bearing signs of age and maturity with a claw mark across his left cheek and his eyes cold as steel. His new armor given to him by Granny was specifically made to his wishes featuring a plethora of attachments and gadgets that he designed himself after research.
His chest plate was primarily dark blue on the sides and shoulders but black on the inside with a green core in the center, and green trimming and detailing throughout to keep with his personal color. His leggings were not much different as they were dark blue with black and green detail, and solid dark blue boots and gloves to complete the look. He also had shoulder pads that were more like heavy knight armor but flowed with his movements and didn't restrict his mobility, and had a slot for his sword on the back. He also had a helmet which was more ceremonial to him as he rarely wore it unless in a serious conflict or in an important setting where it was required, as he had shield technology to protect his head and he found the helmet cumbersome and clunky.
His armor had other features such as a flight system and forcefield generator, as well as an electrical shock system if anyone tried grappling him. He also had the ability to shoot energy blasts from his gauntlets that were powered by a Mother Box built into is armor which also powered his flight systems, and allowed him to create Boom Tubes at will with a small cooldown if used excessively. Then there was his sword which to outside appearances appeared to be an ornate Great Sword when in reality it was also capable of energy projection attack with selectable intensity and could superheat using said energy to cleave and melt through anything barring the toughest metals in existence. All in all his armor more than compensated for his lack of a birth power which was not as frowned upon on Apokolips as was adaptability, cunning, raw strength and force of will.
So that brought him to his current predicament, wearing his full armor and kneeling before the throne of Darkseid after the New God had called for him for a task that only he could do. So with great anticipation Izuku waited for his lord and master to give him his task so that he may complete it for the glory of Darkseid.
Darkseid sat upon his throne with absolute power radiating off of him, so much that it seemed he would not even need to look at you to see your demise and death at his hands. Before him sat a warrior, a young one at that who showed great promise and potential that even Granny had talked about the boy from time to time, something she usually reserved for her Furies. And yet, this boy was no more than a gladiator that he had seen in passing, whom accompanied a few invasion forces at Granny's behest, yet that was not what intrigued Darkseid.
Upon recollection he recalled an incident many years ago where an experimental Mother Box malfunctioned and brought forth a child, one who was frail and weak, absolutely powerless to do anything against the world. And yet years later here stood that same child who was entering the cusp of adulthood, with power and strength at his side and a mind unmatched by very few in the universe. It almost made him laugh with the irony as the situation resembled old fairy tales and other stories about a weak child becoming a warrior, yet this time that warrior was loyal to him. Granny had performed many looks into the child's mind and found nothing but devotion and understanding to his cause, something very rare as he was not motivated purely by fear or greed of his power.
Looking down at him fully clad in his armor and kneeling before his throne, Darkseid spoke to him. "Arise my child, fear not for your life." He commanded as he waved his hand as a signal for him to stand up.
Izuku nodded his head slightly as he stood up from his kneeling position, but made sure to stand at attention as that was respectful to do. "Thank you my lord." Izuku said as he knew Darkseid hated constant bootlicking, but greatly acknowledged respect given to him when done as such.
Darkseid turned his neck to Granny Goodness who stood idly by his throne as he had commanded, before sending her a nod to retrieve an item he had previously requested her to have on hand. Wordlessly she left to complete her task exiting through one of the side doors to the throne room. Turning back to the warrior he began once again.
"Before I continue I must profess, I have knowledge of your origins," Darkseid said with a small underlying threat in his tone, it was a test as he knew many times that a warrior would be loyal to their home first. And while Granny stated that they were loyal to him, one could never be too sure when dealing with this situation. The situation being that this child was from a parallel reality where powers were a birthright on Earth unlike an anomaly as this one, however where this one had power and skill backing them the one this child was native to had quantity and nothing else. "How does that make you feel?"
Izuku's face remained still like stone, he had long knew that Darkseid would be aware of him when Granny took an interest in him, and that that would lead to him being from another reality being exposed. but he had long since lost all feeling for that world and would care little if Darkseid decided to conquer and subjugate it, if he found a way to get there. "I care little for my birth planet, my lord." He said without a waver in his voice or a sign of deceit
Darkseid nodded at that sensing no attempt to lie from the boy nor any sign of anger toward him for possessing that knowledge. "Good. Then that means you shall have no problems with your assignment then." Darkseid said as Midoriya stood still and rigid, waiting for his task to be given.
Granny entered the room again this time holding a Mother Box in her hands that looked slightly different from the base design, as it had extra bulk to it and glowed red in the center rather than blue. "I have brought the device, Lord Darkseid." Granny said as she presented the Mother Box to Darkseid, whom took it in his hands and looked over it before resuming his commands.
"This is a reconstructed version of the Mother Box that brought you to Apokolips years ago," Darkseid said as he set the device on the armrest of his throne, before pushing a button causing a holoscreen to appear and move in front of Izuku who looked at it with curiosity. "Given your familiarity and history of this reality, you shall be sent there to bring it under Apokolips's rule. By any means necessary." He added that last bit to give Izuku full ability to do whatever he needed to, as the holoscreen began displaying text going into further detail on his task.
After the text was done displaying the holoscreen disappeared and Izuku spoke up. "I understand my lord, it shall be done." He proclaimed as he slammed his hand across his chest as a battle sign, as it was the sign of victory in the pits.
Darkseid nodded at his warriors display of confidence, before picking the Mother Box up and tossing it to him. "This Mother Box has been improved from the one that brought you here. It shall allow for travel between your reality and Apokolips with no issues or limits," He said to assuage any doubts about the functionality the Mother Box might have given the circumstances that brought him to Apokolips. "You shall be dispatched alone, but should you require assistance do not hesitate to ask it, you shall coordinate that with Granny Goodness."
Izuku nodded in understanding as he looked over the Mother Box in his hand before looking back up to Darkseid. "When do I depart for the conquest my lord?" He asked wanting to know when he would be sent out, he only had his armor to his name and he had that and his weapons on him.
Darkseid smiled as he leaned over his throne and spoke. "Now." It came out more a growl which only was enhanced by his Omega Beams charging in his eye sockets as a sign of seriousness, before ceasing them and giving a few last words of encouragement. "Your time is unlimited, so long as the world is brought to heel you shall be rewarded upon your return. May victory in conquest be yours!" He rose his voice during the last part, as the warriors and others in the room shouted the same to the young warrior.
Izuku nodded as he gave an Apokolips salute and activated the Mother Box which caused a sparking Boom Tube to appear as it rippled with energy and power. "I shall return my lord, with victory and a new universe to conquer." Izuku said as he turned and began walking through the Boom Tube, seeing his old planet appear before him, the hate and anger he had accumulated throughout the years for it bubbling to the surface. The Boom Tube closing behind him upon his exit into a darkened alley.
Izuku looked around seeing it was midday and that his arrival had gone unnoticed to the outside world. He would need to be tactical about this as if he was careless he could bring every hero in the world down upon him, and while he knew he could take them he doubted he could take them all on at once. Yes he could call upon the Parademon hordes of Apokolips, but he would rather save that as a last resort. For he would conquer this planet with his own skills, for victory and conquest.
For Darkseid!
