It had been five years since the day Optimus Prime and the Autobots defeated Unicron and restored their home planet, Cybertron. Optimus Prime has passed and Ultra Magnus has since then become the new leader of the Autobots and hundreds of Transformers—both old and new—have returned to Cybertron to begin a new era of peace free from war. As for the Decepticons, they have lost the war against the Autobots without a leader. Megatron had put himself in self-exile and Starscream had been tortured by the vengeful Predicons. A lot has changed since Optimus had passed and became one with the Matrix. All seems well for the Autobots until the Decepticons have gotten a new leader. Starscream had just escaped from Darkmount as well as the Predicons and he barely made it out alive. When he returned to the Decepticons, he was unaware that someone had taken over as their new leader.

"Ahh, Starscream. How nice of you to join us." a dark sinister voice said.

"Who are you?!" Starscream asked.

"Oh, Starscream. Don't you recognize me?" the dark figure asked.

"Show yourself!" Starscream yelled.

The dark robot stepped out of the shadows to reveal himself and to make his first appearance. Starscream's optics widened with shock. He recognized the dark robot as one of Megatron's former Decepticons. One he had banished along with his followers from Cybertron when he tried to overthrow him.

"Doomsayer? Is that you?" Starscream asked.

"Indeed it is me, Starscream." The Decepticon replied, "Did you think that me and my followers have left Cybertron for good?" He asked.

"It can't be! What are you doing here?!" Starscream demanded.

"I'm glad you asked, old friend." Doomsayer replied. "You see, my followers and I have just recently heard about Megatron and his exile, so I took the opportunity to claim my rightful place as the new leader of the Decepticons and I have recreated them into what I like to call, 'The New Decepticons', ones that are more chaotic and destructive than what they used to be, ones that I can get to rule through anarchy instead of order."

Doomsayer summoned his followers as well as the New Decepticons and they have surrounded Starscream, making him feel overwhelmed and outnumbered.

"Anarchy!? What's the meaning of this madness?!" Starscream demanded.

"Madness? Starscream, things have changed since the Autobots have defeated Unicron and rebuilt Cybertron while you were being tortured mercilessly by Predaking at Darkmount. It's time to begin a new era of war, anarchy and chaos. It is time for the Decepticons to serve Unicron." Doomsayer said.

"Unicron!? You mean the Chaos Bringer?" Starscream asked. "Clearly you've lost your sense of reality when you and your followers departed from Cybertron eons ago." He said.

"I can assure you, Starscream, that I am quite sane. My followers and I are on a mission to free our lord and master Unicron and help him destroy Primus once and for all." Doomsayer replied. "You see, I was destined to be the Herald of Unicron!"

"Megatron shouldn't have banished you, he should've destroyed you!" Said Starscream.

Doomsayer and his followers only found Starscream's outburst amusing. It was then that Crossfire, Skywarp, Scourge, Reflector and Astrocharge aimed their weapons at Starscream before their master ordered them to hold their fire.

"It's not too late to join us, Starscream. We can give you an upgrade and perhaps you can help us destroy the Autobots." Doomsayer proposed.

"And why should I join you and your troops, Doomsayer?!" Said Starscream.

"Because I can sense a thirst for vengeance within you. We can help you gain your revenge on the Autobots, including your former master, Megatron. We have yet to find out where he is though." Doomsayer told Starscream.

Starscream considered Doomsayer's offer to join him and his New Decepticons, though he hates him because Starscream wanted to be leader in the first place after Megatron was in self-exile. Starscream assumed that it's all a trick, but he considered the idea of getting an upgrade before he disarmed himself.

"Doomsayer, if I agree to join you and your 'New Decepticons', then what do I get in return?" Starscream asked.

"Revenge and a chance to gain ultimate power, Starscream. If you're willing to submit to us, we can make it worth your while." Doomsayer replied. "But if you try to do anything rebellious, we will extinguish your spark." he warned.

Starscream hesitated as he realized that he has no other choice but to join Doomsayer and then he surrendered himself to Doomsayer and the New Decepticons. He knew that if he agreed to join Doomsayer, not only will he give Starscream an upgrade, but he will let him live if he doesn't try to betray his new master.

"I bow and submit to your rule...Lord Doomsayer." Starscream said to his new master.

Doomsayer smiled evilly at Starscream. Hours later, Starscream had been given a new upgrabe before he became Doomsayer's new commander and he promised that he would not betray his new master, knowing that if he tried to overthrow the leader of the New Decepticons then Starscream would be punished severely. Doomsayer promised Starscream that he will gain his revenge on Megatron once they have crushed the Autobots and free Unicron so that they can help the Chaos Bringer himself destroy Primus.
