Disclaimer: Shaman King does not belong to me, and will never belong to me. As much as I would like to own them, it's a sad case I don't. So don't sue me. You'll get nothing in return anyway, so why bother?

For Kage NoTenshi: I got this idea from your wonderful fic, Sometimes I Miss You. Of course, you may see no relation from my little fic to yours, but the really weird me can get all sorts of ideas. So thank you for the inspiration!

Note: Extremely short, because I was extremely bored. Yeah.

The Greatest Gift
written by: da*mouse

The door to the hospital room was opened slightly, which was lucky, as he had his arms full. A huge teddy bear with a bright pink bow was cradled in his left arm, and he carried a huge bouquet of daises in his right arm. With his right foot, he nudged the door, opening it wider.

He stood there for a moment, observing the scene within.

She didn't notice his arrival at the door, as she was partly turned away from him. Blonde bangs tumbled over her forehead, as she gazed intently at the little bundle in her arms, cooing gently.

Leaning against the door, he smiled, as he looked at them. A rush of love encased over him, basking him in its warmth. Never had he felt so contented, so happy, than he was at that moment.

She looked up, then, and saw him. She smiled. One of her very rare, very beautiful smiles.

She never seemed more beautiful to him, her eyes aglow with a light, a soft light, which came with the bundle she was carrying. An emotion that was born along with their baby.

The love of a mother, for her child.

"Come on in, Yoh. Have a look at her. She's wonderful."

Setting down his gifts, he kissed her lightly, and cast his gaze upon his daughter.

Their daughter.

Reaching out, she carefully placed the baby in his arms. He cradled their daughter, looking at her lovingly, his dark bangs falling forward. The baby looked up at him, gurgled, and reached up to grab a lock of her father's hair, her grip strong.

He almost couldn't believe it, that he was holding their daughter. A feeling of awe and wonderment passed through him, she was the creation of their love. His heart swelled with pride. My baby girl. You're so beautiful.

He then looked at her, who was watching her husband and baby with adoration and love. And you…are so beautiful, too. He held out his hand and took hers, squeezing it lightly.

"She's perfect."

"Isn't she?" she said quietly.

Their daughter gurgled again, and let out a series of giggles, the sound playful and joyful. With her right hand, the baby grabbed her mother's finger, and gripped her father's in her other hand. Both parents smiled, cooing to their child.

"I'm a father. We're parents." He suddenly said, his voice filled with wonder.

"I know, baka." She hit him lightly on the arm.

Gazing at his wife, he was suddenly overwhelmed by the love he had for her. Leaning down, he kissed her.

"I love you, Anna." He whispered, his breath warm against hers.

"I love you, too."

Basking in the love her parents had for each other, and for her, the baby girl in Yoh's arms giggled happily. She was the greatest gift that they could ever give each other.

For she was the symbol of their deep love and affection.

Okay, so this is *really* lame. At least I think it is. Because there's nothing to signify that it could be Yoh and Anna. No characteristics!! Sheesh. Feel free to rip this apart. I'll probably delete it off soon enough anyway, or rewrite it.

I like the idea, but I guess I don't what it takes to pull it off. Bleargh.

So yeah, flame all you want. I probably deserve it. *groan*

P.S. request from mouse: will some kind soul(s) please read and review chapter 2 of If I Could Change The World? I am really unsure whether should I continue, some feedback would be great. Thanks!
