Prologue: Part I

     *He was there!" shouted a scarlet-robed man with a ponytail, who was pointing at a pile of golden rubble on the other side of the hall, where Bellatrix had lain trapped moments before. "I saw him, Mr. Fudge, I swear, it was You-Know-Who, he grabbed a woman and Dissapparated!"

     "I know, Williamson, I know, I saw him too!" gibbered Fudge, who was wearing pajamas under his pin-striped cloak and was gasping as if he had just run miles. "Merlin's beard—here—here! —in the Ministry of Magic! –great heavens above—it doesn't seem possible—my word—how can this be?"*

     Voldemort apparated to his hide out in Scandinavia; Bellatrix Lestrange at his side. Once he reached the dungeons of his secret castle, he threw the whimpering Bellatrix to the floor. As soon as she hit the ground, she crawled over to Voldemort and began kissing the hem of his robes. "Thank you master! Thank you! I am not worthy—" Voldemort yanked his robe from her. "Silence! You have failed me, Bella!"

"Master, I apologize! I beg your forgiveness—"

"Do not waste your time!"

     Bellatrix lay, whimpering before Lord Voldemort. "You will have to earn your forgiveness, Bella," he said coldly. "I will not simply hand it to you." "Please, Master," she begged, "Tell me what I must do."

     Voldemort thought for a moment. Finally, he spoke. "I want you gather a team of my most faithful Death Eaters."

"Yes, Master."

"You will lead them on a search to find me power…and not just any power, Bella, it must be a great power. One so great, I'll be able to finally crush Dumbledore and the little nuisance, Potter."

"Yes, Master. Where shall I look?"

"I don't care where you start looking, so long as you find what I want. Do you think you could manage that, Bellatrix?"

"Yes, Master."

"Good. Now go, and do not fail me again, Bellatrix."

"Yes, Master." Bella stood up from the floor and dissapparated; now her quest to find the Dark Lord a greater power begins.
