Sirius Black at large
The Minister of Magic, Cornelius Fudge, announced today that prisoner Sirius Black, infamous mass murderer has disappeared from Azkaban Prison without a trace. As readers should be aware, it is impossible to apparate to or from the island prison. The Aurors are at a loss to explain how he might otherwise have escaped, but assure the public that they are already on his trail, and that he will be apprehended.
Black, who has been incarcerated in Azkaban for nearly eleven years, is guilty of the mass murder of a dozen Muggles and a wizard. The Department of Magical Law Enforcement advises the public not to approach Black if they catch sight of him, but to notify the Ministry of his presence at once.
