Title: Frodo in the Eyes of an Elf
Author: daima_ashiki
Summary: While in Rivendell, an elf takes notice of Frodo. This poem shows
the elf's impression and thoughts of the ailing hobbit.
Author's Note: This poem involves some religious themes. Sorry if that goes
against the thinking of the people of middle earth- I wasn't sure.

"Frodo in the Eyes of an Elf"

As an elf, there is little I cannot see.
It's fairly obvious if you know where to look.
I see this boy and the troubles he carries.
They have weighed on him greatly.
In his eyes, there is heaviness.
There is much pain, and loss,
But I also see a small sparkle of hope.
While not large, it shines brightly.
There is a passion in his soul,
But the darkness surrounding this young boy
Is constantly casting its shadow through him.
He is trying so hard,
But I fear he will falter.
While he has shone great resistance
To the maddening call of the ring,
Continuing as such is a task that would claim
The strongest man,
The most powerful wizard,
The highest skilled elf,
And the most determined dwarf
As failures.
This hobbit, this dweller of the Shire,
Has been called to do
What no one else could,
And I do see the hope in that.
For God, greater than any elf,
Has chosen this Frodo Baggins
As his own warrior.
Frodo has the highest spirit to guide him
And the highest faith to back him,
Which of course is more
Than any other could give him.
So good travels to you, Mister Frodo Baggins.
May your quest be not in peril
And your journey not in vain.
