"Through Eyes of Scarlet and Gold"

The streets of Russia was covered with a thin layer of ice, and a thick layer of snow, as a slate haired teen made his way across the sidewalk, trying to make his way home. Since he cities and miles away from his hometown, he didn't have to worry about his grandfather or Boris. It had been a whole year since he had last seen the Bladebreakers, but he got letters from them every now and then, which he would sometimes send a letter back. He sighed, seeing it was in the afternoon, and the sun was covered with dark clouds. A small shiver ran through his back, as he held his sweater closer around his body, along with his scarf.

He finally began to approach his house, when he heard a soft meow coming from a dark alley. He froze, looking into the pitch black area. Was there a cat in there? He shrugged, and made his way into the dark, looking around, trying to find where the meow had come from. He laid his hand on the wall, as a small form came into his eyes, seeing a tail wagging back and forth. He reached a hand out, feeling the fur covering the small freezing animal. The small head reached out a little, gently nuzzling his hand. He reached both his hands out, and brought the small shivering cat into his arms, taking his scarf, and laying it over the cold cat. The feline nuzzled into the warmth he felt from the slate haired boy, and let it's bright gold eyes close.

Kai headed out of the alley, and made his way into his house, and finally got a better look at the kitten he had just found. It had silver fur while it's ears and tail were drenched in black. The way it was sleeping in Kai's arms, it seemed that it wanted to sleep for a while now, but the extreme cold kept it from doing so. Kai opened to door to his home, and closed it, feeling the cold from outside immediatly leave. He walked over to his bedroom, and laid the small cat on the bed, allowing it to sleep. He went into the living room, going to accomplish a few things before he went back into his room to sleep. He would eat something, take a shower, change clothes, clean his mess from earlier that day, then he would sleep.

His dinner wasn't really anything special. Ramen noodles, some fish, and a glass of juice. He wanted to eat something hot since it was going to get colder that night, and he usually went on the roof in the middle of the night to think about....things. He felt the noodles go down his throat, tasting the chicken flavoring from it. After half way finishing his fish, and drinking down his glass, he brought his dishes over to the sink, and began to wash them quickly so he could go take a shower after a hard cold day. He left his plate of fish on the counter so he could wrap it after he cleaned his mess in the kitchen and living room before he went to bed.

After grabbing a few towels from the closet, he made his way into the bathroom, closing the door on his way in. He walked over to the tub, and began to fill it with hot water, letting the firey liquid drip onto his cold fingers. He nearly ripped his shirt off his back, showing his bare chest, and slowly began to strip the rest of his clothes off, and lightly tossed them to the ground. He climbed into the tub, and let the his muscles soak in the hot water, letting his eyes close in relaxation. He leaned back, letting his hair dip into the water. After a few minutes of washing himself off, and washing his hair, he grabbed a towel, and threw it over himself, as he pulled the plug in the tub, letting the water drain out slowly.

He went into his room, and grabbed some clean pajamas from his drawer, and proceeded back to the bathroom. (If you wanna call a black one strap tank top, and very baggy dark pants pajamas...) He changed into the clean clothes, and pulled his towels and clothes into a pile, and put them in his laundry basket, determined that he would finally do the laundry in the morning, if he remembered. He made his way back to the living room, and began to clean the living room, putting a few books that he was reading back on the shelves, and the phonebooks back into the drawer by his phone. He ran a hand through his dishelved hair, and made his way over to the kitchen to wrap the fish he had finished. He stopped in place when he saw something he wasn't expecting. The plate was completely empty, and it was in the sink.

He looked around the house, and finally decided to go to bed. He threw his slippers by the door, and went back over to his bedroom, and opened the door, quickly closing it on his way in. He opened his scarlet eyes to see something that left him in shock. A boy that looked no older that Tyson was sitting on his bed, his scarf wrapped around his neck. A yellow headband was tied around his forehead, keeping his bangs off his forehead, as his short hair ran down to his neck. He wore a baggy japanese shirt with dark pants hugging his waist. His bright eyes seemed to widen, as Kai walked in with that unreadable look on his face.

The small boy began to get off the bed, trying to get the boy across the room to stop looking at him with that face. Before he could react any, he found himself pinned to the floor. He landed onto the hard wooden floor, as a soft whimper made it's way out of his mouth. He opened his eyes, as he found the slate haired looking holding his shoulders down his his firm hands. His bangs were in front of his eyes, but it didn't cover up his hard scarlet eyes that seemed to almost burn a hole into his. The boy closed his eyes in fear, as if he thought the boy pinning him was going to hurt him. But after a bit, he felt nothing. He opened his eyes, looking back into the eyes that seemed to have softened up some when he looked at him in fear.

"...Could you please get off me?" The boy asked in a soft voice.

"Not until you tell me why your in my house." Kai's hard voice ordered.

"...You wouldn't believe me even if I told you...."

"Try me."

"...You brought me here."

"...I don't remember bringing you here."

As if answering Kai, he finally took notice to something he hadn't before. The small boy under his grip raised his arms, showing his fingers had long claws. Two small black cat ears began to unflatten themselves from under the boy's hair. A black cat tail appeared from under the boy and the floor, as it began to flick furiously. Kai felt his voice vanish from his throat, as he lifted himself from the boy, and backed away in surprise. The boy sitting in his room was the cat he found in the alley? His knees gave up on him, but he was lucky, because he was right near his bed when he did. The small boy lifted himself from the floor and walked over to Kai, sitting next to him. Kai nearly jumped as he felt the clawed hand of the cat boy laying itself on his.

"...Your not going to throw me out on the streets again, are you?"

"..." Kai didn't know how to answer him.

Tears began to fill the boy's golden eyes, as he clutched Kai's hand, and laid his cheek onto it, nearly causing Kai to blink, "Please don't send me away...everytime someone found out about me, they sent me away...leaving me on the cold streets...I'll do whatever you tell me...just let me stay..."

Kai felt the hot tears slowly dripping onto his hand, as he saw the boy was softly sobbing, his head bent down as he sat next to him. The slate haired teenager slowly slipped his hand away from the boy, and brought his arms gently around the boy, letting him cry onto his bare shoulder. That must have been the reason he found the cat so cold in the alleyway. He had been abandoned once again, and he had found him while he was in a moment of depression. Kai brought one of his hands up, and began to stroke the boy's hair, causing his sobs to slow. After a bit, the cat had no more tears, and looked up to face the teenager.

"...If you want, you may stay with me..."

"...Really?"

"...Yes, just don't destroy the house, okay?"

"Uh...okay." The boy brightened.

Kai raised an eyebrow, "Do you have a name?"

"...No."

"Alright...I'll try and think of one."

As Kai was trying to think of what he was going to call the boy that would be staying with him from now on, the boy pounced off the bed, and softly began to hiss. The scarlet eyed boy looked up to see the cat hissing at the wall, that seemed to have someone on it. The teen raised his hand out, and turned on the light to see he was hissing at a spider that had crawled into his room. Kai lifted a shoe from under his bed, and squashed the spider on the wall, causing the boy to look at him with wide innocent eyes. If Kai didn't know any better, he could swear he was cute. Then, a thought hit him. The word he heard from Tyson while he was in the beyblading tournament. Kai bent down, and tapped the boy's head.

"Your name will be Kyu."

"...Kyu?"

"Is that okay with you?"

"...Sure!"

Kai gave out a small sigh, wondering what the others would say if they met Kyu. He was getting extremely exausted, so he made his way back over to his bed, and pulled the blankets off, and crawled under them, throwing them over him, and began to make himself comfortable. He laid his head onto the pillow, and closed his scarlet eyes. Kyu looked over to see the slate haired boy was getting himself comfortable in his bed. He crawled over to him, and laid his chin on the bed, causing the springs under the bed to squeak. Kai opened his eyes, seeing the cat looking at him.

"...What is it?"

"Um....I never learned your name..."

"...It's Kai."

"...Okay...Kai....where can I sleep?"

"....You can either use the couch, but I highly advise against it, or you can sleep on the bed with me."

"...May I sleep on the bed...?" Kyu whispered.

"...Go ahead."

The innocent little cat crawled over onto the other side, and climbed into the bed, and laid his tired head on the pillow, purring softly. Kai turned a bit, seeing the neko was fast asleep, his face looking extremely peaceful. His clawed hands were laid on the pillow, and the rest of his frail body was brought under the blanket. The slate haired teen brought himself a bit closer to the boy, and gently wrapped his arms around him, laying his head by his chest. He heard the soft breathing coming from the cat's throat, and that was enough to let him go to sleep.
