Jitters

This fan fiction takes place after Asuka, Jr. proposes to Meimi.  This was eight years after the end of Saint Tail.  It has been eight years since the series really ended and it seems appropriate to post a fic about their wedding.

Chapter 1:  The Parents

            Genichiro was a nervous wreck.  Saying so was no exaggeration, either.  His hair was flyaway.  His tie kept coming undone.  And he kept sending off bursts of confetti and smoke. 

            "Honey," said his wife of many years, Eimi, "it's not like you are getting married again," for she recalled her wedding day.

            "But, but… my little girl has grown-up and she's getting married," he sobbed.

            Eimi pulled her husband to her shoulder and patted his back as he cried into her shoulder. 

            "You knew this would happen one day, dear." But I suppose I should be happy he didn't take our soon-to-be son-in-law to his magic show to be sawn in half, she thought ruefully.

            "But no one is worthy of my baby girl," Genichiro said.  He removed his head from his wife's shoulder and turned towards the door, "I've decided that I am going to have the wedding called off."

            But Eimi grabbed his arm and said, "Would you have liked it if my father had stormed in on you while you were getting ready to marry me and tell you that you couldn't?"

            "Weeeeell, no, but still…," he sighed.

            "You are not happy to let her go, are you, dear?" smiled Eimi as she tucked her arm into his so that they were linked.

            "How about we go and see how our little girl is doing?" she asked her husband.

            Genichiro gave his beloved wife a smile, "I think that I would like that very much."

            Then the two of them left the room arm-in-arm to visit their daughter.
