Dear Daddy Long legs,

I've just been hit by the proverbial 2X4. Do you know what that is? A 2X4 is a wood board that muggles use in constructing their homes. They are usually long, and I'm sure you can imagine quite heavy. So, being hit by one hurts. I was just starting to like Charlie, and, I guess it's a good thing I didn't go over to the Weasleys for Easter. Apparently Ron isn't as ok with us just being friends as I thought he was. Kind of stupid of me. Harry was there for the fallout, and I've heard multiple accounts of what happened. I think Ginny was the most objective, but still, she says it wasn't a good time. Ron's not speaking to me, and Harry is trying to stay neutral, with him dating Ginny, it puts him in an awkward spot. I'm let down by Charlie too. He could have defended our actions, but he didn't. Well, I guess I'm done with dating any Weasley, no matter how they beg.

Have my NEWT's been processed yet? I'm anxious about them, but relieved at the same time. Its so much easier to focus on three classes, the problem now, is I have almost too much free time. New moon on the fifteenth. I'll be working with Neville in the Greenhouses that night, so I won't be free, don't ask if I can come visit you that night. I know you won't anyway, you silly old man. He asked me to help him, and I couldn't see why not. So don't you write to me forbidding it, because I shall not listen to your opinion on it one bit.

I'm going to need a summer job. Do you know anyone who will hire just for the summer? I'm not picky, I just need something to do until I have all my NEWT's and can apply for work with the ministry. I'm sure to be a shoo in with a recommendation from you. There's a full moon at the end of the month, and I'll be going into the forest that night with Hagrid- he's agreed to come with me so I can gather more supplies for potions. Some of the worlds best magical flora grows in the forest, and since I'll not have near the access to it in the future, I may as well stock up. Is there anything you want while I'm out there? Drop me a quick note, your wish is my command.

Take care to not catch cold, the weather is still a bit unkind. I'm thinking of you, and glad that out of all the men in my life, you are the most reliable. I can rely on you not to write. I can rely on you to listen to all my woes and not pass judgement. Thanks for being a constant in my life daddy dear.

Love,

Hermione

Harry Potter, Auror trainee, MOM

Dear Harry,

I forgot that you knew about my job. It was just at the start of the year- and I haven't been working at all these last several months, unless you count studying for school. I am not in love with Charlie Weasley! We had one date. One, and although it was a good one, I'd hardly call it love at first sight. Did you know, that is apparently a thing in the wizarding world. Imagine falling in love after one date. Not me, that is for sure! Charlie invited me for Easter, and I meant to go, but couldn't. I hear it was quite awful. I'm sorry that you got caught in the middle. You know I love you like a brother, and would never try to hurt you, or your relationships. It will blow over. You know Ron. I let him down ages ago, but he is still got it in his mind that we'll pick up where we left off. He seems to think we had love at first sight, pardon me, if I don't. I've moved on, and I am ready for a grand romance. Maybe I should have looked further than the Weasley family. You can rest assured that I will look elsewhere for love- but you know everyone here at Hogwarts- and all my year mates are not mature at all- its like we didn't just fight and win a battle, and now we're going to regress and be little arses because we can. Besides, I don't want to be anyone's gossip conquest. You aren't the only one who gets gossiped about. Thanks for reminding me. I've bugged everyone I know about newt scores, and now I am bugging you- if you hear- put me out of my misery. Talk to you soon,

Love, Hermione.

Charlie Weasley,

Romania Dragon Preserve Barracks

Dear Charlie,

I got your letter, and don't know what to say, other than of course you are right to put Ron's feelings first. We had a lovely evening, and it's a memory I'll cherish- but just that. I'll never be with Ron because I just can't. There are many reasons in our shared history, but suffice it to say we're better off as friends. I don't want there to be any awkwardness between us, so I'll firmly put the memory of our date in the past, and just be your friend, as I am friends with Ron.

You're an amazing brother, and Ron is lucky to have you. I wish you the best.

Hermione.

Dear Daddy long legs,

You'd never guess, but my NEWT's came during breakfast in the great hall. I'm pleased, that is all I'll say for now, but I daresay you already knew that, didn't you? Neville's put together a long list with professor Sprout of the things we'll be harvesting. I love school, and I love that I am here for a few more months because of you, thank you for all you do, including the allowance I received this month.

Love,

Hermione
