Pairing: Danny/Aiden - If I had to pick just one CSI ship to come true, they'd be it.

Dedication: Ok, this has nothing to do with CSI, but I mentioned CBS and was reminded that Tom Westman (aka FDNY Tom) won Survivor:Palau last night! Man, I can't believe my favorite actually won! Go Tom! In my opinion… easily the BEST Survivor winner. So yeah, I'm dedicating this NY fic to the NY fireman.

Spoiler: Since I live in Australia, I don't know how I can spoil any of you who live in the States and who are like half-a-season ahead of us. There's a big reference to 'Grandmaster' though ;-).

A/N: Since I've written a dialogue-less fic ('Connection'), I want to try my hand at writing a fic made ONLY of dialogues. To those who like 'Connection', don't worry I'm still updating it.

Nomen est Omen

"Good night last night?"

"You are so dead."

"Not so good night?"

"Ugh… Danny, I can't believe you did that!"

"Ow! Y'know, normal people start the day by saying, 'Good Morning.'."

"You deserved it."

"So… I take it your date with Officer Lilac didn't go so well?"

"It's Lilly. And you know very well how it went."

"Well, I wasn't hidin' in the bushes, stalkin' you two, if that's what you're thinkin' … But I sure would've paid to see the look on Lavender's face when you guys came in."

"It's Lilly… How could you do this to me?"

"What? I thought you liked sushi?"

"I would've liked it more if I didn't have to eat it off some chick's ass."

"Ain't that a great place? Now, why wouldn't I recommend a classy place like that to my buddy Lotus?"

"It's Lilly! You know what? Your knowledge of flowers is staggering."

"Thank you. I do like to work on my act."

"…"

"So… No second date?"

"Yeah, you'd like that, wouldn't you?"

"Oh, come on… Just think of it as a funny first date story, courtesy of your pal Danny."

"Yeah, well, at this moment I'm thinkin' of stranglin' my pal Danny."

"You know you love me."

"If by 'love', you mean 'want to murder and leave your mangled carcass by the side of the road to be torn open by rabid dogs … then, yeah, I 'love' you."

"Oh, you burn me, Burn."

"You messed me up, Messer."

A/N: I've had this idea for ages (I've come up with their last lines since I wrote 'Connection'), but has put it in the backburner because I haven't been inspired to write dialogue fics (I'm not great at these). But then 'Khanada' in the Danny/Aiden thread in TalkCSI had the ingenious idea of naming the ship: 'If you MESSER with fire, you'll get BURN(ed)." And I naturally had to write this fic. The title of this fic 'Nomen est Omen' is latin for 'the name says it all' or 'take the name as a sign'. It was brought up by 'Dylan' in the same TalkCSI conversation, so I'm crediting that to you, girl.

Thinking it more, I'm so loving D/A's names together. 'Burn' certainly doesn't go with a sissy name like 'Lilly'.

Just so you know, I made a fic challenge for myself that include those last two lines and one of them professing their love to the other… So that's what you got. Hope the dialogue-only style of the fic isn't confusing.

A/N2: I don't know Officer Lilly; haven't seen him, in fact (we're up to 'Night, Mother' here). I just heard his name mentioned in the CSI board and thought I used him. I'm relatively spoiler-free, so if Aiden's already had her first date with him in the show, then I guess this is AU.
