A Christmas Peril

A Disney Duck Fanfic:

Instead of being purely based on one entity, this story takes background from Classic Donald Duck cartoons, Duck Tales, and Darkwing Duck.

Contains Major Spoilers to Double Triangle Trouble and Braced Company

Written By: Stef with an F and Nightw2

Disclaimers: Still don't own many of these characters but have created some of them. Same ones I mentioned in the disclaimers of previous chapters. The ones I don't own were created by Disney.

Note: I have been writing this story mostly for and by myself the last few years. Which is okay, I just feel this story needs an ending. Even if it has been about five years since Chapter 14. I have also noticed when I was re-reading to try to continue the story that there are some plot holes. Blah, I still want to finish the story, so please forgive me for the plot holes. What is the usual story excuse bs? Timelines! Alternate Universes! But seriously, it's from taking ten years to write this story that most people forgot about five plus years ago, but anyway… (Including me in a way) ha ha *sigh*

Chapter 15

"What? Help Megavolt?" Darkwing asked, breathlessly. The brisk Christmas air rattled his feathers in more ways than one.

"Why?" he exclaimed! "Are you insane!? I should kill him! He poisoned my daughter!?"

Bonnie bowed her head. "Yes, a version of him did. And in many ways it doesn't even make sense. Nothing has made sense for a long time. But it hasn't happened yet! Not really! The Megavolt I know…"

"The Megavolt you know?" Darkwing hissed.

Gizmoduck took a step back, or more accurately he rolled back. He knew Wingsy had a problem with his temper from time to time, but never did he ever feel such a cold sensation go down his spine. His feathers were rattled. He knew that Megavolt was an evildoer and by extension, so was this young woman, but somehow he felt the need to protect her yet he did not know how.

"Is a monster," Bonnie replied.

She closed her eyes tightly. "He is obsessed. He hurt your daughter. He also saved my life. He wasn't always like that though."

"I don't care!" Darkwing shouted. "You want me to help him?" How?"

"Get the current one out of jail somehow," Bonnie replied.

Gizmoduck decided to wheel in front of the two.

"Calm down Wingy. But I have to ask, why should Darkwing try to release Megavolt out of jail? Apparently he does get out of jail! And he is an evildoer! And he hurts Lisa Mallard! I have met that dear child… and—"

Bonnie nods. "I know it's crazy. My whole life has been crazy. If it wasn't for Megavolt, I might be dead as well. He saved me! And when he died, he changed for the worst! And— and now, I get this glimpse of another family, I might have.. Might have been out there! And— and then…"

"Whoa! Whoa! Young lady! Where's the fire?! Who died?" Gizmoduck asked.

Meanwhile, back in Ashley Ruddy's hospital room…

"I do not care if it is true Mr. Muddlefoot," Dr. Frances Duck stated. "This is a hospital, and Ashley is going through a difficult pregnancy. If you cannot calm yourself, I will have to let you go."

Tank rolled his eyes. "I ain't leaving. But marriage? I might have some feelings for you Ashley. But I know you ain't in love with me. I don't have much. I live with my parents and I don't have a job at the moment. Are you sure you want to marry me? And what I said is still true. Your mother is crazy."

Ashley turned away and laughed weakly. "That's not exactly inaccurate to be honest. And to answer your question, if I had to guess, she's married to Negaduck."

Tank's eyes widen, "Your mother is more crazy than I thought!"

"Do you want Negaduck raising your children?" Ashley whispered.

Tank bit his lip and turned away.

"Of course not," he mumbled. "But Ashley!"

Dr. Duck turned her back, and covered her face with her hands.

"And who the heck are you? I know you are a doctor but who are you really? You don't know me! I am not abandoning Ashley, I'm here, ain't I? My parents are the most pukey sweet married couple you can come across, but that ain't me and Ashley."

Tanks sighed as he continued.

"Her family no offense is a horror circus show and she is in love with another guy. Ashley and I are friends, and I will be there for that baby if you need me, but I ain't living a lie. Ashely's parents are a joke, her mother is a criminal, and her father only acknowledged her several years later. Are you even sure I am that baby's father? True our short relationship was over seven months ago, but you were with Dewey soon after. We are over, I am not saying anything shady about you. I will always be your friend, that ain't changing."

He stared at Ashley pointing a trembling finger, "But don't make a mistake here. I love your stupid tail feather too much to let you be this darn tooting dumb! I know you and Dewey have been close friends for some time now, and he cares about you, and he has a good family with connections and I don't understand-"

Ashley raised her head and struggled to make eye contact with Tank as she finally spoke, "One of them might be. He looked half goose to be honest, that's why I was sure they were yours, and the timing made sense, however, Bonnie, the one that I saw at the jail cell, she didn't have any trace of goose at all, and Dr. Duck said she might be Dewey's after all."

"Huh? There you go again talking about the future? You saw them? You're still on the nest, aren't you? Or do you mean one of those ultrasound thingies?"

"No," she shook her head, "I saw them. They were from the future. I also saw my mother, she was also pregnant. So I am thinking she is and Negaduck are going to claim all three babies as theirs and that can't happen!"

"Huh?" Tank gasped. He gently took hold of both of Ashley's hands.

For once he found himself speechless, even if for only for a few moments. Yeah, he did exclaim that her mother was crazy, but now he feared the worse, was Tank really going to lose Ashley as well. In that way?

"I am not crazy Tank, it happened," she whispered, "You have to believe me."

Instead of answering her, he still holding her hands, adjusted himself to face Dr. Duck.

"Is she okay?" he asked.

Dr. Duck sighed, "We already discussed this. She stressed, but she is having two babies, and they are different ages. It's possible that Dewey Duck is the father of the younger baby."

"What? How can that even happen? Why isn't he here? Where's his responsibility?"

"Someone from the front desk called recently saying he wanted to come see me but then Beau came to see me instead, and then you came to see me soon after that. Something must have come up?"

"Something?" Tank challenged.

Ashley shrugged his shoulders. "Maybe there was another family emergency?" She said knowing about all the related superheroes in the area. "Oh! I think I vaguely remember hearing that Daisy Duck was pregnant."

Dr. Frances Duck nodded.

"Duckling season, huh," Tank retorted.

He gently kissed Ashley on her cheek. "I still love you, but I know our relationship is over. Still, we will figure something out. Go get some rest and don't be a stranger anymore."

Ashley nodded, feeling safe for the moment. "Are you leaving?"

"The room yes, but I will be back later. It's late and I probably should tell Herb and Binkie where I am."

Ashley smiled. "If you see Dewey around, have him stop by?"

Tank nodded, "Okay, I can do that."

Huey, Dewey and Louie were in Daisy's room saying hello to their baby cousin.

"Sorry Aunt Daisy," Louie said with a smile. "I hope with all the people going in and out we are not tiring you all out.

Daisy quickly shook her head, "It's Christmas Eve and we are together. Can't say I am not tired, but family is what Christmas is what it's all about."

Louie nodded. "I heard from Webby that Uncle Scrooge had to hurry back to the mansion. His house guest was getting a bit restless."

Huey laughed. "Yeah, I don't think Goldie appreciates the lack of attention though, I doubt she would admit it."

Louie turned to Huey, "Where is Gosalyn?" he asked.

"Outside, she didn't want to overcrowd Aunt Daisy".

Daisy waved her hand, "It would have been fine. But you are right, I am starting to get tired. I need to rest and then get home in time for tomorrow's dinner."

Donald gently placed his hand on his wife's shoulder. "You heard her boys. Let your aunt get some sleep, but thank you for coming."

"Of course Uncle Donald," Dewey said at last, who was until now lost within his own mind.

Donald eyed Dewey for a few seconds without saying anything. Those three boys were always up to something, especially around Christmas. However that was before the Foursome of Fury nonsense, blown up bridges, or crazy coincidences with villainous consequences. He did not want to worry Daisy.

Louie put his hand on Dewey's shoulder and gripped it gently. This of course worried Donald further.

"Come on," Louie whispered. And then to Donald he asked, "You two staying overnight? Everything is alright, right?"

Donald raised an eyeball, this time to Louie, they were playing a game here. They obviously were trying to change the tables here.

He sighed.

"Something wrong Donald?" Daisy asked. "I just want to get some sleep." "How about you let me rest some before the big crazy dinner tomorrow? I promise. I am okay."

And during that distraction, the nephews left the room.

Bonnie let herself collapse into her hands, "I already told you. Megavolt!"

"That is not what I meant and it does not make sense. You need to slow down. You are going all over the place" GizmoDuck reasoned. "What happened to you. What reality are you talking about?"

Bonnie took a deep breath. "I am from the future. You believe me, right Darkwing?"

Darkwing sighed. "Yes. Unfortunately, I do believe that much. Apparently my future granddaughter and her friends came back in time to stop some meteor or meteorite, not sure which anymore. And my daughter got poisoned, and it has something to do with Megavolt. But, that doesn't-"

GizmoDuck cutted him off, "But then you said something about Alternate realities, families, or something, or lost families, or something. I am so confused. Who's this other family?"

Darkwing, at his wit's end, clenched his beak, yet he knew GizmoDuck was right, he should not direct his anger at this frightened girl, even if her choice of company was objectionable.

Bonnie started to reach out for Darkwing but then retracted, "You know of the Neververse, correct?"

"Of course," Darkwing replied.

"And…" she hesitated for a moment, turning her face to Gizmoduck for a moment before facing back to Darkwing, "Umm…" she whispered. "And you know who he is really, then, right?"

"What?!" GizmoDuck exclaimed. "You know who I am?"

Bonnie bit her bill as she turned away, "Umm...maybe? But that's not who I am talking about. Umm, Darkwing, I mean, you know who Negaduck is truly, right? I mean by the gimmick and danger of that place you oughta know, right?"

Bonnie paused to fiddle with her thumbs, "So, and knowing that, and the other Gosalyn… Umm… You get what I am saying, right? This is old news to some people, so let me know if you get what I am saying…"

"You know who I am?" GizmoDuck shouted again!

Bonnie clenched her fist. "Nevermind that. That isn't the point. The real point is, what I am trying to say is… based on the reality of that other world, I know who you truly are, Darkwing. I am from this world, but from the future. But in a way, I am like that other Gosalyn…"

"Huh?" GizmoDuck replied. "This is like one of M'Ma's silly dramas!"

Bonnie crackled. "Yes, but it's not really funny is it? Figured it out yet?"

"You are Negaduck's daughter?!" Darkwing shouted.

"Bingo!"

"Hey Dewey," Louie called again, now that the three of them were out of the room. "You need to go see Ashley, don't you think? I do not know everything that is going on, and I can imagine the same goes for you. However, I have a feeling that this story will never end until you get the bottom of this."

Huey nodded. "Ronnie, Beau, and Shannon are all concerned that their futures will be shaped by the futures that we make. Though, is ignoring things going to even make things okay? Shannon is your future daughter. That means you and Ashley became happy with each other in some version of the future. But how do you know if that future was not started today?"

"What about Tank Muddlefoot?" Dewey asked. "What about Beau, who is likely his son?"

"What about him?" Louie retorted. "Ashley is already pregnant, he will already be born. I doubt there is any danger here."

"And to be honest, even though Tank is brash, he isn't really a bad person, I mean not really," Huey added. "He is a slob, but according to Gosalyn he is not evil, basically harmless. But from what I heard from Regina, he has another son somewhere so he moves on with another girl. I guess there really is one question you have to ask yourself. Do you love Ashley or not? Would you be able to take care of a son that is not biologically yours? Would you or should you even care?"

"You are right, and if it's true, that those children end in the hands of Negaduck, we have to risk it. We have to fight the future. That sounds like an episode of ``The Quack Files"".

To Be Concluded

Author Note: Thank you if you are still reading. Hello if you are new. Like I said in the opening notes, I have noticed that this story, unfortunately, has plot holes and inconsistencies. Blame the lazy alternate universe/timeline hooey or blame that this story is old and got away from me. Whichever, but I apologize and I hope you had fun reading. The next installment will be the last.
