Title: I Never Should Have Been Told
Rating: K+
Summary: When Jen is driving to the rally, and while they are at the rally. Story from Jen's POV.
All of the kids coming to the rally, it will make a difference in all their lives. No longer will we be locked away, they can't they ignore us any more.
The government has to realize that we are here, we are people and that we deserve rights.
In the car, that I stole from my parents. It's not they would care, they probably won't even notice they have way to many cars. In the car I have Alexandra, Chad, Emily, Anna and Maria with me. They are all from big, important, rich families who would give them fake identities at a whim, their families don't care. The same way mine don't.
We are all sitting in the absolute silence, all of us wondering in our heads, in our minds what will happen. And secretly doubting this master plan that we have all made.
All I am worrying about now is Luke, you may wonder why. It's because of what I said. He should be here, fighting like the rest of us. If I had only been better at persuading people to do things that I wanted them to do. I got all these people to agree with me and follow the cause of fighting for our rights.
The last thing I ever said to Luke was that the last thing I would ever ask, was for him to come to the rally, he said no. He said no because he thought it was dangerous. Of course it was dangerous. The danger at the end was always there and somehow made it really worth it, to make it feel real, feel dangerous. My dad once told me that nothing was really worth it, unless you had to do some fighting.
If my dad could ever understand what he told me meant to me, he would probably never have told me.
And today he will realize that he should never have told me that.
