A/N: I dunno... just read...
"Lily…" James said, sneaking up on her in the library.
Lily almost died of shock. Since when does James even know that there is a library? "What are you doing in here, Potter?" she asked, still shocked but now very much annoyed.
"To ask you out of course. Sirius told me of this strange place called a liberry—"
"It's library, Potter, and somehow the fact you didn't know that exists doesn't shock me," she said distastefully.
"—So anyway, I head of this strange li-brar-y where people come in here for a quiet reading place. I didn't believe it at first, but I asked around, and turns out it's true. So then, I thought, wait a minute! Lilykins—"
"Didn't I tell you never to call me that again?" asked a very annoyed Lily.
"Oh, right, sorry, Lily, anyway so I figured you'd be in here."
"So how are you going to ask me out this time, Potter?" Lily asked.
"You'll see," James said, his brown eyes twinkling with mischief.
"Potter? Potter, what's going on?"
He didn't answer her. He just stood there a moment. After about a minute, she relaxed. Obviously he had lost the nerve to do whatever he was going to do. She was turning around just as she felt his lips brush against hers.
She didn't resist. They probably kissed for a full minute. Shockingly, it was James, not Lily, who pulled apart. He looked very surprised, his brown eyes wide as galleons as he asked, "Lily? Are you feeling okay?" She didn't answer. She just stared at him, shocked that James Potter was such a—well, gentle kisser. He felt her forehead. "You don't feel hot." He snapped his fingers, "Lily, answer me if you are able to."
"I'm fine, James," answered Lily.
"Well… that's a—wait a minute! Did you just call me James? Not Potter, but James?"
"That's correct," answered Lily, still very dazed and unsure of how she felt.
"Well, are you just swept away by my charm, my lady?" teased James.
"Why… I… yes, I suppose I am," said Lily, still dazed.
James looked at her in shock, "wh—what did you say, Lily?"
"I said, yes, I am."
"So… would—would you consider going out with—what I mean to say is—" he couldn't finish his sentence. He was stuttering too much.
Lily finally got a hold of herself, stood up, wrapped her arms around James's neck and asked, "what are you trying to ask me, James?"
James was breathless. "I—uh—well, I, will you go out with me, Lily?"
She didn't answer him. She just kissed him. He got the message. And they stood there and kissed in the 'liberry' until Madame Pince yelled at them to get out.
