Sir?
"Sir?" Sam appealed, hurrying down the corridor after her CO. Her heart beat in her throat. This mission so hadn't gone as planned.
"Jack, come on. Wait!" Daniel cried, Teal'c on his heels.
Jack stormed into the locker room, throwing down his gear. With a bang, metal met metal as he slammed open his locker door.
"O'Neill, I do not understand your actions," Teal'c said, concern obvious in his voice.
"Carter disobeyed a direct order, Teal'c. What don't you understand?"
"She saved our lives, Jack. And to thank her you're going to court martial her?" Daniel asked, throwing his arms up in disbelief.
Sam kept silent. True, she had disobeyed him. But had she not, they would all be dead right now. Lose her career or lose her friends? It hadn't been that tough a decision. She hadn't quite been expecting this kind of reaction, though.
"I can't have my subordinates refusing to comply with orders. I know you might not understand this Daniel, but we have a chain of command for a reason."
"Look who's talking," Daniel scoffed.
Jack spun to glare at the younger man, shutting his locker. "I have to go speak to Hammond." He stalked to the door, turning around as he reached the threshold. "Oh, and Carter?"
"Sir?" Gulp.
"April Fool's."
