Naptime

I don't own Final Fantasy; if I did there would be moombas in every game.

So quiet, so cuteā€¦and completely defenseless.

The young cadet Strife lay motionless. Sephiroth stepped into his office and shut the door slowly, so as not to wake the dozing boy. No doubt he'd gotten into some trouble during the day and was using the empty room as a sanctuary. He'd have to speak to Zack about the cadet's recent troubles.

Beneath the boy rested an entire night's worth of missions, inventories and field reports. Sephiroth debated whether he should wake the boy.

Desire won out over necessity and he left him alone. Circling the desk he paused to drape his jacket over the slumbering form. Settling his back against the cool leather of his chair he pulled a book from the desk and began to read.

The chapters passed like quicksilver before Strife joined the waking world. Slowly sitting up, he drew the makeshift blanked closer as his legs knocked a lengthy mission report across the floor. Blinking drowsily he waved. The general's lip quirked.

"Hi sir, sorry about your desk."

Sliding down he managed to clear the entire desk with one fell swoop. Apologizing profusely he dropped to scoop up the scattered files. Sephiroth set the book aside and knelt down to the boy's level. His long gloved hand caught cloud's smaller ones as he frantically gathered the sheaves.

"Don't worry about it, Cadet"

Standing he drew the boy up with him. Leaning over him he smirked, the curtain of hair shaded his jade eyes. Still holding Cloud's hands with his own, he reached over to wipe a thin strand of saliva from the boy's cheek.

"You're cute when you're sleeping" he whispered

Cloud's face glowed like an activated fire materia.

"Now" the commanding tone returned to his voice.

"Get to the dorms it's late, and we have field exercises tomorrow."

Nodding, the cadet quickly disappeared as he was dismissed.

Only after he had gotten to his dorm and had dived into the safety of his bunk, did Sephiroth realize where his jacket had vanished to.
