I own nothing
It had been a hundred years of nothing. A hundred years of making fake promises to herself. She swore she'd finish off Yoruichi, she swore she'd get stronger to defeat Yoruichi, she swore that when Yoruichi returned she would destroy her. Nonetheless she could look back now and realize such oaths were just a different form of hope. She hoped that Yoruichi would come back but her anger left her to make such violent promises. A hundred years of melencholia. Of depression that would freeze her where she stood and make her that much more real.
A hundred years of taking every mission thrown her way that might let her search for her lost sempai in the real world. Even after she had left, Yoruichi controlled Soi's life, whether she had meant to or not.
So when Yoruichi did return and Soi Fong tried so hard to fulfill her self-made truths it was impossible. She identified with the fact that it had all been her way of saying :"Yoruichi-sama please come back, I'll never be bad again if you'll come back." She used to pray those very same words too, almost every night at the Shinigami Academy. When she fell down on her knees that was what she had meant, it was a signal that she had given into herself. She'd stop denying that little part that said, "You can never kill her not when she's finally returned."
Yoruichi had stood there calmly as if she knew all along and was just waiting for her to give in, and she probably had known. She hadn't flinched when Soi Fong had removed the humonka, or asSoi continued fighting back those thoughtless tears of what might have been joy. Then Yoruichi explained everything, she explained her running away, the thirst for adventure that had led her from her comfortable life, the suffocation of the guards around her night and day that had turned her into a fugitive.
She explained as well in a serious caring tone that she had left her behind for her safety, only to keep her from becoming a criminal, keep her strongerand she now had the commander's uniform to wear. Soi Fong wanted so bad to yell how she didn't care in the least, that she would become the most wanted criminal in Soul Society if she could remain by her side. She knew though that such passionate pleas would only make her look more childish.
Then Yoruichi left again. Soi Fong knew that she had too, she was needed with the Ryoka's and Urahara needed his information. It was okay though because the uncertainty was gone, she wasn't left with loose ends, she was left knowing everything. She knew exactly where to find her, she knew exactly why she was going, and she knew perfectly well that she'd come back. So she did as she promised and remained a spy of sorts for her senior and when Yoruichi returned again on the pretenses of discovering information for Urahara, Soi Fong didn't leave her side.
There was one hundred years of nothingness to be filled only with the two of them.
So now she's laying in bed next to her Goddess because they couldn't fit a second futon through the doorway yet, though they had been trying. Perhaps they could've tried a little harder but they'd leave that for someone else to decide because right now there is no awkwardness between them.
Soi Fong curls up to Yoruichi who sets her arm caringly around her and they both feel right. Even though there's passion there as well, it's meant to be played out another night, this Yoruichi promises with every breath she breathes warmly onto Soi's ear. They'll lay together not daring to speak of the love that's so obviously there as that would make the urge to be closer arise. Now though they can be the people they were before they left each other and lost a part of themselves, and that's all they need to make those one hundred years melt away.
