Beep

1/1

Hi, you've called Hermione Granger. I am unable to take your call right now, but please leave a short message after the beep, and I will return your call as soon as possible. Thankyou…

"Hello? Hermione, love are you there?" Draco held the strange Muggle contraption away from his head, staring at it, turning around, "I don't think its working Potter."

"And what makes you say that?" He asked, shooting a warning glance at the chuckling Weasel next to him.

"Well, I could hear her talking, and now there is no-one there," Draco explained.

"What was she saying?" Potter asked patiently.

"Something about a message and a beep," Draco said, "Damn confusing if you ask me."

Weasley nearly fell over laughing, even Potter had a smile on his face, "That's just the message, and did it beep?"

"Yeah," he responded.

"Then right now all of this is being recorded on Hermiones' answering machine," Potter explained, "You'd better start talking otherwise she'll be more pissed at you."

"She's not pissed at me," Draco said hotly.

"Ok," Weasley said calmly, "Tell us then, why come here at eleven o'clock at night, demanding to use the fellytone."

"It's a telephone Ron," Potter corrected.

"Fine, a telephone. Why? What did you do?" He asked eagerly, even Potter seemed anxious to hear.

"I didn't do anything," Draco said angrily.

"Yes you did," came a small voice that sounded familiar.

"Hermione?" Draco asked puzzled, looking around Potters' flat.

"The phone you idiot," Weasley said.

He held the phone up to his head like Potter had shown him how to, "Hermione?" He asked nervously.

"Yes," she said shortly.

Turning so his back was to the guys on the couch, "I'm sorry," he whispered.

"For what?"

"I'm sorry that I upset you at dinner," he whispered, moving as far from the living area as the cord would let him, "You know I'd never do that to you intentionally."

"But it did hurt," Draco inwardly cursed. It sounded like she was crying.

"I know love, and I know I'm a giant prat who will forever be pulling his foot out of his mouth," Draco whispered, "but you have to believe me, I wasn't looking at that witch at all, there is no one I want to be with more than you…"

"I believe you on that one Draco, it's just what you said to me after that…"

"What did I say?" He asked, wracking his brain trying to remember what his big mouth had said.

"Hormones don't control my every thought and what I say, asking me if it was that time of the month was really rude and kind of insulting too."

"It will never happen again love, I promise," he insisted, putting a hand in his pocket he felt what he had put in there earlier, "There was actually something I was going to ask tonight," he whispered.

"I had something I needed to tell you too," she answered.

"What is it?" He asked.

"I'm not telling you over the phone."

"Ok, if you unlock the Floo, I'll be right there," he said.

"Already done," she replied, "I'll see you soon."

"Wont be a minute love," he said, putting the phone back on its holder.

Turning back to the guys, he tried not to smile too widely at them, "Well thanks for that Potter," he said, picking up his cloak, "I have to go," he said, shaking a shocked Weasleys' hand, and pulling Potter into a bear hug, "I expect I'll be seeing the both of you very soon."

With a wide grin, he stepped into the fireplace, "Hermiones' Flat," and with that he disappeared into the green smoke.

"What do you think that is all about?" Ron asked Harry.

"First comes love then…"

"Bloody hell," Ron swore, "And you don't reckon Hermione is…"

"Yep, reckon she is."

"Shit," Ron said, "We are never going to get rid of the bugger."
