I do not own Petshop of Horrors – worse yet, I don't own Count D… (sigh)

Read and Review!

Recently a cat has taken to sniffing around our house – a stray. We already have a cat – and I don't think they're going to be compatible. (And we have a dog and a fish…) Anyway… it brought to mind this manga…

After reading Volume 2… (I ordered in the manga! YAY!)

What To Do With You?

Strays are the crumbs of nature forgotten – unwanted by man. But all things living – all beasts, that is – come under my care.

This stray that landed on my doorstep – blonde hair, blue-eyed, tall, loud-mouthed and uncouth – what do I do with a mongrel like this?

When normally, I favor the pure breeds?

Like most ignorant humans – he doesn't understand this – he just lives by gut instinct – truly – an unruly animal.

I can almost feel that unbound turmoil – his inability – he struggles to know the unknowable – and then – out of the blue –

"You know.. I think… if I were the last survivor… I don't know what I'd do."

Then I sigh.

What to do? Those endearing words…

What can my heart decide about this stray?

I smile.

What else but to take him in?

"Would you like to join me for some tea back at the petshop? I've just imported some very nice herbal leaves…"

"Huh?" The man asks.

What a dumb animal.

"Uh… sure…"

There's a pause – he laughs.

"Actually, I'm kind of hungry, too…"

Ah, Officer Orcot… what am I going to do about you?

"Of course," I murmur.

This stray has taken my heart.

What to do? For I do enjoy your company.

Unbelievable.

And –

One of these days, I may not let you leave –

I will make you a home – here – in my heart.
