This is my first Balto story, so please be nice. Umm, I've only seen "Wings of Change" once, so if you could tell me what I'm doing wrong, that would be great.

Disclaimer: I don't own Balto.

A beautiful caramel-brown and milky-white wolf led a small pup through a forest. She remembered this forest... It had been so long since she'd been here! The snow was soft and fluffy and felt good on her cracked pads. The half-moon shone brightly in the Alaskan sky, along with the forever-colorful Aurora Borealis, or Northern Lights. She came to a village. The houses' lights were turned off, except for one. A small shed at the edge of the village was lively, or so it seemed. Picking the wolf pup up in her mouth, the wolf cantered over to the dimly lit dog shed. Inside, a mahogany-red-and-white sled-dog was curled around a pretty brown-and-black one.

"Mamma!" The pup wailed.

The male dog jumped up.

"No!" The wolf hissed, "I'm not your mother. I-I can't be! I'm not ready for a pup!" It pained the she-wolf to think of what had happened to innocent pup's real mother.

"Kodi?" The female asked, concerned.

"Did you hear that?"

That...voice. It sounded so familiar. Something like her mother's, but like her father's, also. Then she realized. This dog looked exactly like Jenna!

"I didn't hear anything, Kodiak," The female shook her head.

"I'm going outside just to check."

Too scared to move, the wolf just stayed there. The light flooded out onto the wolf and the ground as the door creaked open.

"Who are you!" The dog snarled.

"My name is of no importance to you. I only wish for you to hear me out. This pup has lost her mother. She needs care. Please-- Tell me there is someone who will take her in. We have come a long way."

"Nonsense! She's a wolf! Have someone in your pack take care of her."

"The pack has a new leader. Stronger... he wants no orphans."

"Take her somewhere else. We won't raise a wolf!"

"Please!"

"Kodi!" The black-brown dog came out.

"What a cute puppy!" She exclaimed.

"Dusty! She's a wolf pup!"

"So what! You're part wolf, too."

"This is a full wolf."

"Kodi! Be understanding. Would you like to come inside?" She asked the wolf.

The wolf nodded. "I only mean to stay here until Alyth here finds someone to take care of her. Then I'm gone."

"No! Don't go," Dusty snapped.

"Excuse me?"

"Please, Stay and be.. Alyth's mother."

"Oh... well..."

"What's going on?" A groggy voice yawned.

"Nothing, Ralph. Nothing at all," Kodi growled.

"WOLF! WOLF!"

"Ralph!"

A gray-brown wolf and a mahongany-red-and-white Husky burst throught the door.

"Aleu?" The wolf asked in shock.
