Buffy stopped crying and waited. For what, she wasn't sure. Angel was still clutching her legs moments later. He'd stopped thanking God and now, he was sobbing.

"I can't believe it," he kept whispering. Tears were falling down his cheeks, which surprised her. She didn't know Vampires were capable of such emotion. Then again, Angel wasn't a typical Vampire. He was almost human.

//Morning is almost here - let it wait

I just wanna lie here awhile, tempting fate

I don't think I could breathe now with you gone

But it's not weakness, it's just

Something I've begun\\

She managed to put a hand on his shoulder to let him know she too, was feeling something inexplainable. "I......how?"

He shook his head. "I don't know. I don't care."

"Angel...."

"Shhhh," he stood up, putting his finger to her lips. "All I know is that someone, or something, knew we belonged together."

//Maybe there's a light that's always on

Maybe we're not only human

Maybe there's a light that's always on

And we're not only human\\

"We need to--"

"Don't," he looked into her eyes, holding her hands in his. "I just wanna look at you. I wanna hold you." he pulled her close and she allowed herself to lose her sensibility in the moment. She held him closer and he leaned his head down to her shoulder, kissing her neck, her cheek, then, before they could control themselves, her lips.

//When you're sleeping you're ceramic

You're surrounded by little stars

Every shimmer is a searchlight

Every planet is ours\\

She pulled away, wanting to yell at him, wanting to do anything but fall back into his arms and kiss him again, her hands running across his back. But that's exactly what she did.

//Change the street, change the decade

Still the longing's left inside

But why am I too small to carry you?

Why does twilight make me cry?\\

He finally let her get a breath of air and he pulled her arm, walking with her to the other end of the room. Without meaning to, he leaned her against the wall and kissed her again, harder and faster than before. She felt herself weakening and giving in, and decided that even if this was it, it was worth it.

//When all the weight is gone

When all is said and done

We're not only human\\

She let him help her out of her clothes and then she slid his pants down. Tightening her legs around his waist, she screamed in ecstasy as they made love against the cold stone wall. His hands on her bare skin were as cold as the concrete but she didn't seem to notice or if she did notice, she didn't care.

//Life is something set to music

I can hear it when I'm sad

There's a chord in every muscle

Every kiss you ever had(

There's a power when you're near me

In our heads or in our bones

I know nothing but I'm guessing

When we die, we're not alone\\

There wasn't a bed in the mansion, but there were some old lace curtains hanging from a window. Angel had pulled them down and wrapped her in it before they lay together on the ground, holding each other. She kept kissing him and then closing her eyes, waiting to wake up, waiting to die. Nothing happened as they hid out together from the sunrise.
