Never alone

Ah another day of driving through the middle of nowhere, oh the joys of mind numbing hours of pointless fighting. Can't think too much noise…….. "SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!!!!!"  The two yokkai's flashed him nervous smiles, returning to their seats with out further complaint.

   Gojyo let his head roll back as he watched the stars that lay above him. Tiny pinpoints of light embedded in the think blanket of endless midnight black. Beside him the monkey was curled up in a ball, with his back turned.  For once sleeping quietly. A small smile played across his lips, as he enjoyed the unaccustomed peace that had fallen upon the jeep. Hakkai drove in silence a serene look about him, while Sanzo slept quietly head bowed and arms crossed. The evening breeze stirring his long hair, listening to the sounds of even breathing. It seemed a bit surreal, the quiet was seemed so….unnatural. While at the same time was it was refreshing, no fighting no yelling just peace and quiet. 

 Hakkai had brought the jeep to a stop, and was catching some sleep. Gojyo stretched out, relaxing, unable to sleep just yet.  He blinked as he heard soft mumblings from the boy that lay next to him. Leaning over a bit he tried to make out the words. Discovering Goku was talking in his sleep, the boys were arms wrapped around himself and knees drawn up to his chest. "No….." Was the faint whisper, the thin shoulders shaking slightly. Gojyo becoming alarmed, as he caught site of the tears escaping from under closed lids. He reached out to wake the younger demon from his nightmare. "Don't leave me alone….not again……" Came the small pathetic cry from the sleeping boy. The half breed frowned, poor kid. They all had their own nightmares, * I guess his is to be abandoned. * Gojyo  pulled the boy over so his back rested against his side. Petting the tousled head of brown hair lightly. "Your not alone Goku…We're all here." Goku relaxed a little, seeming to fall into a peaceful sleep. A small smile forming on his young face, sighing a little the monkey ceased his whimpering.   Gojyo smiled as well, closing his eyes and drifting off to sleep.
