A/N: This is my first FMA one-shot ever so I would love it if you left me a little review telling me what you think, Thanks for reading!

Roy hates taking pictures. He hates the loud clicking of the camera, and the too-bright flash that always makes him see stars. And so, by default, Roy thinks he should hate Hughes too, because taking pictures is all he does, and the worst thing is that Roy seems to be Hughes' favorite subject.

Pictures of Roy when he's sleeping, eating, studying, and even bathing, and Roy is quite sure he doesn't even want to begin to know how Hughes got that one. Roy would love to take Hughes' camera and lead it to it's dark, watery death in the middle of the fountain, but then that would mean Hughes would be sad, and no matter how sadistic Roy can be at times--very sadistic for the record--he just can't bring himself to make Hughes sad.

Which, in retrospect probably made Roy an easy target for picture-taking, because he does nothing more than scowl darkly whenever Maes pops up in front of him and says, "Say Cheese!" In that loud, obnoxious, but oddly lovable 'Hughes-voice" that Roy can't bring himself to say no too.

Once, Roy remembers asking Maes why exactly in the world did he feel the need to take so many -for lack of a better choice of words- God forsaken pictures of him. And Roy remembers Maes merely smiling like the goofball he is...or rather was, and saying,

"Because I don't want to ever forget you."

Then proceeding to give Roy a huge bear hug that would have had anyone else in crispy, burnt ashes on the ground. Roy blushes so very lightly and mutters, crushed against Maes' chest, "Well you don't need to take so many pictures."

But Maes only smiled against Roy's hair, and out of nowhere Havoc came along with what suspiciously looked like Maes' camera and quickly snapped a picture.

And Roy holds that picture in his unnoticeably trembling hand now as he stands in front of the grave of his closest friend. He looks at his surprised face and sees Maes with his huge trademark smile that always made Roy smile as well, even if he was in one of his "moods."

Roy can feel drops of rain start to fall as they land with big "plop plop plops" on the picture. Roy finds that he can stay there for hours just staring at the picture and losing himself in his memories but Roy knows that Maes wouldn't want him to brood so much, and if he listens close enough he can just about hear Maes say,

"Lighten up buddy! Your gonna get wrinkles from frowning so much."

And, if he listens even closer he can hear Maes' delighted laughter as Roy chases him around, pulling on his glove as he desperately tries to burn his Maes' newest camera to the ground.

Roy hates taking pictures, even more than he did before; because now there's no Maes' telling him to smile, and no Maes' laughter as tells him that he hates taking pictures.

And Roy thinks that before, picture taking was at least bearable, and he thinks that he would be willing to take a thousand more pictures if he could just hear Maes telling him how amazing this picture would turn out.
