Bite

Princess Sango

I'll feel that pang in my chest, the blood's circulating again.

I see the red in her face, and I see her hands twitching.

I don't want to bite him, not after everything he's done for me.

I watch her internal battle to calm things down.

I feel the blood rushing up faster; my fangs are protruding now.

I notice her fangs and gently whisper her name.

I hear him call out to me, and I try to fight it still...

I check to see if anyone's around before pulling down the collar of my shirt.

I notice him showing me his neck, and I take a cautious weighted step.

I close the gap by pulling her close, hoping to let her know its okay.

I'm still hesitating, but I place my fangs on the skin, and gently bite.

Wincing a little, I held her closely, feeling the blood being transferred to me.

The blood is making its way into my fangs and being transferred.

I feel fine, but I do feel slightly dizzy...

I'm done, and I feel better but light-headed, I pull away, still holding on...

I feel the fangs leave my neck and I smiled, "Better?"

I nodded as we supported each other to the bench.

I wiped the blood away from her mouth, "Don't fight it next time."

"Gomen," is all I can reply, because he already knows the reason…

"It's alright," I reply, "I don't mind you know."

I nod my head, and lay my head on his shoulder, "Arigatou." Then all I see is black.

Kenta smiled as he fished the phone out of Karin's pocket and dialed the house number. It was nearly nine, so someone in Karin's house must be awake now. "Hello?" came a voice from the line, looks like Ren's home.

"Hi, this is Kenta; um…can you lower the barrier so I can get Karin home?" Kenta asked innocently.

"Yeah, I'll let it down for an hour, hurry up," with that he heard a click and he hung up as well. Standing up, he stretched and then picked Karin up and placed her on his back. He didn't know why, but occasionally she'd pass out at times when she was holding back, he thought because more blood increased during that time.

Twenty minutes later…

Kenta was soon at her house and when he knocked on the door, it was Henry who answered. He seemed a little angry yet calm as he looked at Kenta and then at Karin. "Is Karin okay? Who did she give blood to?"

Kenta smiled, "Me, no one else saw though, I promise. She hesitated though, and she passed out."

Henry nodded, "I'll take her from here, you're not feeling dizzy are you?"

Kenta shook his head before feeling weight coming off his back and he staggered a bit. Placing a steadying hand, Henry smiled, "Thank-you, see you later!"

Kenta nodded and before the door closed he heard Karin's soft voice whisper his name and a thank-you, as if she knew all along where he was. He smiled as his hands trailing towards his neck and whispered, "You're welcome, Karin…" Then he headed home, knowing that tomorrow would mean one of two things: another bite or another mess to clean up, which ever one, he was up to it.
