Disclaimer: I don't own The Lion King, nor any of its characters. This poem tells how Scar and Sarabi first met and how their tolerance towards each other faded over the years. It also sorta deals with Scar's feelings for Sarabi (which I believe he had).

Observance

He memorized all her paw-prints

Patterns on the Savannah

No fate to stop her

And he watched

And he watched

Delight become a cloud

The world went free of spectators

And she watched

And he watched

Sunlight clutch her fur

For a moment, he lived

For a moment, alive

She held her head through his presence

Shadow of the Savannah

No love to stop him

And she watched

And he watched

Caution rain in torrents

The world went free of certainty

And she watched

And she watched

Motion clutch his limbs

For a moment, she feared

For a moment, afraid

They grew in decay and distance

Along with the Savannah

No one to stop them

And they watched

And they watched

Sanity shrivel up

The world went free of compromise

And he watched

And she watched

Fury clutch his paw

For a moment, they knew

For a moment ended
