A/N: Holy crap it's been forever since I've written anything. Well, I'm getting back on track a little now at least. Anyway. This is my first Sephiroth/Zack fanfiction, so um, yeah. Haha, I thought it was an interesting idea. Cheesy, yes, but well, that's the only kind of plotbunny I get. -pout- Take what you get.

It hadn't been too long since the incident in Nibelheim. Sephiroth had recently discovered who he truly was – and who he was destined to be. He refused to believe that, he, Sephiroth, was created the same way as those hideous monsters inside the mako reactor. Infuriated, he had been roaming the country destroying innocent villages and destroying monsters. Anyone who stood in his way would be destroyed – no one, and I mean no one would live to tell the tale that they saw Sephiroth.

The silver-haired man stood on the edge of the city of Midgar; on a cliff overlooking it. A light drizzle was falling, he found it almost refreshing. He looked up into the sky, almost peacefully, then walked over toward the edge of a cliff. He noticed a familiar life form.

"Well, well..." The ex-general thought out loud; aqua eyes focused on the body underneath him, a hint of nostalgia shone in his eyes. The snake-eyes traced the body's features; spiky, dark hair, slightly tanned skin.

The man leaned down near the body. "So..." he whispered, to no one in particular. "You've finally died." The man smirked, it transformed into a sad and weak smile. "I can't say I'm too surprised. You were always too kind... Too weak. You were bound to die quickly. The weak always die first." He refused to show it. He refused to cry. But ... he was devastated. He didn't want Zack to die. He knew it was bound to happen, but Zack was different from the other SOLDIERs. "I'm sure Cloud is upset..." He mentioned the blonde's name in such an envious tone, "But I have news for you..." He brushed his fingers along the corpse's cheek, staring into those cold, distant, eyes. "I am, too."
