It was the beginning of December, giving Kohana a heavy coat of snow and a light breeze of falling flakes. Naruto was going home after a frustrating day of school. (Since he lived in the slums of Kohona, he couldn't dress very warm.) Some of his fellow students at school had played a very cruel joke on him; they had said that Sakura had liked him, and told Naruto to meet her in the back alleyway at school. But when he got there, they poured a bucket of cold water on him and teased him about living in the slums, living alone. Adding the fact that he, Naruto, was never to be good enough for the most popular girl in school, Sakura Haruno. Naruto walked through the playground, stopping in the middle to look up as he silently wept.

"Mom, Dad. Why did you leave me? Why do I have to be alone?" he cried out loud. A shadow hid behind the trees, listening to his weeping until it could no longer. The figure walked up behind the crying boy and embraced him.

"But you're not Naruto…" Naruto heard a familiar voice; he turned around and looked at the Uchiha's face. Snowflakes covered eyelashes and bright black eyes looking down at him, they had never looked so caring in his life.

"Sasuke…"Naruto whispered and dove into Sasuke's chest crying, letting his heart out to someone he had hated, but the only person who could ever understand him.

"Why do they tease me? What did I do to them to make them give me the cold glares and nasty tricks?" Naruto whispered, he wanted an answer, he didn't know what kind, but he just wanted the pain to stop.

"Because…they won't accept you and if they don't, they won't accept me, and I won't accept them. Naruto you're everything to me…I'd die if I saw your heart broken…" Sasuke held him tighter.

"But it is Sasuke…it is."

"Naruto, your heart isn't broken, I'm fixing it."

"How?" Sasuke leaned his down to kiss him, make his loneliness go away.

"Because I love you…and I'd do anything for you to make you happy."

"Would you die for me?"

He leaned down to Naruto's ear.

"I wouldn't give it a second thought for the world. My dear. Beloved. Naruto…" Sasuke held him while Naruto.

"Sasuke?"

"Yes beloved?"

"If I cried what would you do?"-"Wipe your tears."

"If I laughed?"-"I'd smile."

"If I smiled?"-"Hug you."

"If you made me smile?"-"Love you more."

"If I loved you?"–"Then we'd have to buy a new bed…"

"If I hated you?"-"I'd cried."

"If I couldn't stand you?"-"I'd try and make up."

"If I tried to commit suicide?"-"You'll never, Cause you and I love each other too much."

"If I died?"-"I'd die before you…"

Naruto smiled and kissed Sasuke. For a moment in his entire life, Naruto didn't care about anything else. For a second time in his life, Sasuke didn't care about revenge, about being the cold-shoulder one, he had something to care about, he had something to love again.
