A/N: Pure fluff. Just some good ol' Sirius x Remus to warm your wintery hearts. VERY short. Probably the shortest one shot I've ever written; crazy!

"It's started snowing again."

"It is December."

Remus Lupin turned from the window pane and the small hole in the frost he'd made in order to look out. He was bundled up in a sweater much too large to be his own and wooly socks peeked out from underneath his trousers, yet his knuckles were white from the cold seeping through the window, his cheeks and nose pink.

Sirius Black turned from thes fireplace and the house of Exploding Snap cards he'd been attempting to build. He was tangled up in an afghan he'd laid across the floor and his long hair was pulled back in a loose ponytail at the back of his neck, letting the warm orange light of the fire behind him dance across his angular face.

"It's really coming down," the brunet said softly. The worry lines that seemed only a word away, creased his forehead. "I hope James and Lily are alright."

Sirius rolled his eyes. "What do we care? We've got no place to go." Grinning madly, he held out a hand, beckoning Remus over. With a small smile of his own, Remus acquiesced, slipping off the windowsill and padding across the common room towards the fire and Sirius.

He stretched out across the afghan, careful not to disturb the precariously balanced house of Snap cards, and leaned back against the couch. His wooly toes were practically in the fire, but he didn't mind; it was comfortable and warm and when Sirius finally got himself readjusted, Remus laid his head on the other boy's shoulder.

"Better, yeah?"

Remus chuckled and closed his eyes. "It's adequate."

"Adequate?" Sirius exclaimed, sounding affronted.

Remus' smirk widened. "Could use a book," he offered.

Sirius was chuckling now too, deep and throaty so that Remus felt the vibrations against his cheek. A bony finger poked the brunet in the side and his eyes fluttered open to met Sirius' sapphire ones a-light with amusement. "Only you, Moony."

Remus' skin glowed bronze in the firelight and his amber eyes warmed like honey. There were no worry lines here, not with Sirius at his side and the storm raging silently outside their little world. Happiness took years from his face and smoothed it with contentment. He smiled then, well and truly.

"Only you, Padfoot."

Sirius' face softened in a way not often seen by others and his smiled with his eyes, years of intimacy and meaning passing between them. He brushed the bangs from Remus' eyes and the smile reached his mouth.

The fire popped and crackled; the only sounds to break the still quiet of the common room. It emitted a charming sphere of orange light around the room's sole occupants, giving enough light with which to see one another by and lulling them into a hazy comfort with its heat. They watched it without seeing, needing no other distraction than each other's company.

When the clock struck midnight, it was Remus who pulled the corners of the afghan over them, the eyes of his partner looking drowsy. But when Remus' hand found his under the blanket – a tender gesture known only to them – Sirius lifted their joined hands for all the world to see and laid a kiss on the back of Remus' palm.

They had their own kind of love. And really...

Who cared about anything but this moment?
