Life will go on
Pairing: Sesshoumaru/Inuyasha
Disclaimer: The characters of InuYasha are not mine; they are the property of Rumiko Takahashi, Shogakukan, Yomiuri TV, Sunrise, and Viz. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
WARNING: This is about male pregnancy (possibly) and male/male relationships which includes incest. I'm letting you know now what the relationships WILL contain. So, if you are AGAINST such pairings, please find something else more to your liking, you have been warned.

This chapter is not beta-read. Any and all mistakes are mine.

Notes: I have to apologize for taking such a long time to update but I've been living Real Life and it's not as much fun. I actually thought that I lost the chapters to this story and was surprised to discover this chapter as well as a few others. Also, I'm currently working on A Mate for Sesshoumaru. I still hand write my fics before typing up everything. Please be a little more patient, an update is coming soon.

Chapter 5: The Beginning of the End

Across the sea in a far away land two devils stared at one another as they felt a wave of evilness settle over them.

Their toddler son sat wailing to the top of his lungs in his playpen. "Ma! Dada! Ma! Ma!"

The older of two picked-up his son, cradling him close to reassure the little boy that no harm would be fall him.

The phone rang starling them, setting off another round of crying from the child.

"Devil May Cry… Lady…what?...No, stay there and wait, if they need help Kagome call us—just keep an eye out… yeah, I'll tell him…later."

Turning to his older brother and twin, the young half-devil said, "That was Lady. She said she saw Inuyasha… he had Sounga in his possession—Verge, that sword is dangerous—it gave me the creeps when Toga wield it."

"What else did she say, Dante?" Vergil asked, ignoring his brother's comment. He knew what power the sword held having seen it first-hand.

"She said that Inuyasha went to the shrine. We can safely assume that he's taking Sounga back to down the well, back to his time."

"Then that's all that matters."

"What?! Aren't you even worried, Verge?" Dante asked, staring at his lover with wide, fearful eyes.

"No, brother, that is none of our concern. We will only get involved if Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru cannot contain the dragon spirit of the sword—until then we do nothing. Right now, our main priority is finding our daughter," Vergil replied, he was worried, but he couldn't let his brother know it.

The last thing any of them needed was to fret about something that was not in their control.

How could Dante have forgotten about his baby girl? After arriving home to Devil May Cry, Dante had found his collection of letters from Vergil scattered across his desk. All of them were unopened of course, all except one.

Vergil confirmed the contents of the envelope was not there. His key to his high-rise apartment was missing. Vergil sent it to Dante, hoping that the younger devil would join him. But Vergil should have known better, Dante's sense of justice and not wanting the power of their father was a blend of both their parents, which in-turned made the Devil Hunter a better person.

A person, who kept his humanity, something that Vergil simply gave away. Did he regret his decision to follow Mundus? No, he did not; however, if given the opportunity all over again to stay with his twin; Vergil wouldn't let go of his most treasured possession—not for power—he already had it, Vergil just didn't realize it at the time when he willingly let go of Dante's hand, falling into the abyss.

When Dante first received the letters, he didn't want to read whatever it was his brother had to say about leaving to gain more power—the power of Sparda. Power that he didn't want to have anything to do with, until Vergil had crucified him to the Temen-ni-gru, unleashing a tsunami wave of raw power.

Shaking his head in memory, Dante smiled somewhat knowing that his older brother had a one-track mind. His still does. But it was for a good reason now. Vergil was concentrating on locating their daughter.

With the missing key being their only clue, they were packing for their road. Besides, Vergil needed to let his so-called management know that he was still alive and to make sure that his building was how he left it.

By the time they had purchased a vehicle to make the drive to New York, Dante had to secure proper identification for Vergil (since he'd been in the Under World for over ten years) another month had slipped by their noticed, which led to them yet another surprise.

A/N: Okay, that was a lot of information! I'm basing everything off of the Inuyasha movie: Swords of an Honorable Ruler, and we all know how that went.

Next chapter: Sesshoumaru tells his mate about Sounga
