This was a poem I had to do for an English assignment. It's a culled poem (the words and phrases are all from To Kill a Mockingbird. Please R&R and tell me what you think!

Boo

The man in the corner

was leaning against the wall,

with sickly white hands

and colorless gray eyes-

a malevolent phantom.

Atticus had not brought a chair

for the man in the corner.

Strange,

but he was more comfortable where he was.

Guilty… guilty… guilty…

Sickly white hands

drove the scissors into his parent's leg.

He dined on raw squirrels and any

cats he could catch.

But never a mockingbird:

It's a sin to kill a mockingbird.

Bob Ewell wasn't crazy,

mean as hell,

wasn't crazy.

Boo's children needed him

Halloween night:

Bob Ewell killed himself.

Boo.

He hadn't done any of those things.

When they finally saw him,

a timid smile crept onto his face.

A malevolent phantom

escorted her down the sidewalk,

as any gentleman would do.

Inside the house,

I was laughing.
