A/N: This story is formatted the way it is because it was inspired by the song of the same title from Fiddler on the Roof. It seemed like a fun way to try and tell a story. See if I did it right, okay?

Super short, but meh. Just for fun anyway.

Title: Do You Love Me?

"'Ru?"

"No, I'm not ready to go to bed now any more than I was five minutes ago."

"That wasn't what I was going to ask you."

"Are you sure?"

"Absolutely."

"What is it then, 'Kashi? And put your book down when you're talking to me, it's rude."

"Only if you'll put down your papers."

"There. Better?"

"Much."

"Now, what did you want?"

"I have a question for you."

"Yes, we've covered that. Just go ahead and ask, I'm not going to get mad, I promise."

"Ruka, do you love me?...Hey, put those back!"

"No. I have grading to do."

"You didn't answer my question."

"Kakashi, we've been dating for two and half years. You live in my house three out of four weeks every month. I do your dishes. I do your LAUNDRY. I don't have to answer that question."

"Yes, you do. Iruka, I want to know. Do you love me?"

"Do I love you?"

"That's what I'm asking you."

"I bandage your wounds at whatever time you get back. I cook your dinner. I buy your porn. After two and half years, you're bothering to ask me now?"

"I didn't love you on our first date."

"Oh, that's nice."

"In fact, I think you scared me a little. You were too bright. Too much for me."

"'Kashi…"

"But Asuma told me that I might learn to love you. That I had to give you a chance. You didn't love me on our first date."

"No, I didn't. You were odd, and while fun it wasn't love."

"Do you love me now?"

"You're obsessed."

"I know."

"And a fool."

"I know that too. But do you love me?"

"I've dated you for two and a half years."

"Yes."

"I've fought with you for two and half years."

"Yes, that too. Though not all of it. Just sometimes."

"For two and half years I've cleaned up your messes."

"I do some."

"I've washed your dogs. I've made you birthday cakes. I've given you everything."

"Yes…I supposed that's true."

"So, what else do you want me to do?"

"Do?"

"To show I love you."

"You love me?"

"'Kashi, of course I do. For two and a half years you've been everything to me. What else do you expect love to be? It isn't something magnificent or that happens all at once. It's something that comes about naturally, and I try and show you everyday in the little things I do."

"Oh."

"Tell me you knew that."

"I suppose I did. I just wanted you to say it. So, you really love me?"

"I really love you."

"Good. Because I love you too."
