Oh, better far to live and die
Under the brave black flag I fly,
Groaning, Zoro wrapped the bandanna even tighter around his head.
"I don't think that will work, no matter how much you pull it over your ears," Nami called to the swordsman as she tried desperately to shove more wax into her own.
Than play a sanctimonious part,
With a pirate head and a pirate heart.
"I know," Zoro yelled back, "I'm trying to cut off blood flow and pass out. It's the only way I'll get to sleep until the next island."
Away to the cheating world go you,
Where pirates all are well to do,
"I'm starting to think a musician would be a good idea for the crew," Sanji muttered. He had given up on wax in the ears some time ago, and was now seriously considering the prospect of burning his eardrums with a cigarette.
But I'll be true to the song I sing,
And live and die a Pirate King!
"You mean you WANT him to keep singing?" Nami asked, completely shocked.
For I am a Pirate King!
And it is, it is a glorious thing
To be a Pirate King!
"No," Sanji answered, too irritated by the noise to even ogle the navigator. "But I want him to at least sing in TUNE."
For I am a Pirate King!
You are!
Hurrah for our Pirate King!
"Don't look now," Nico Robin stated, her Hana-Hana powers having an extra pair of hands cover her ears, "but Usopp and Chopper have joined the chorus."
And it is, it is a glorious thing
To be a Pirate King!
"We should have never taken Luffy to that musical…" Nami groaned.
"It could be worse," Zoro added, feeling a little dizzy from the off-key singing combined with the lack of oxygen to his brain. "They could be singing that stupid Major-General song."
It is!
Hurrah for our Pirate King!
Hurrah for our Pirate KIIIIIIIIING!!!
Author's note: Well, It's been a while, but I've come back to this site! My writing skills and drive have improved, so you'll be able to see lots more quality stories on my part! Not to mention COMPLETED stories...
Anyway, this fanfic is writted with respect and admiration for the British playwrights Gilbert and Sullivan. The song is written by them, but I believe it's in the public domain now, so no harm done. One piece is, of course, created by Eichiro Oda, and I apoligize if I got his name wrong.
Who else thinks Usopp would be great for the role of Major-General Stanley?
