This is my second fanfic. Currently they both involve Norse Mythology (the other one is from Eight Days of Luke, by Dianna Wynne Jones).

I'm a big fan of Norse Mythology, so there's gonna be a whole heap of references to it in this story. You'll probably enjoy reading it more if you know some Norse myths yourself.

Now, for the purposes of this fanfic Freya is still Reiya (that is, if I decide to incorporate them in the story-which I probably will).

Also, at the end of the anime, a blue/purple haired girl rang the doorbell. This was Spica, also known as Angrboda (the omen of grief). She is the mother of Yamino, Fenrir, and Hel, and a giantess. Spica eats a lot and doesn't speak much (this is all from the manga).

If I get a couple of reviews for this I'll write a second chapter (and maybe more!)

NOTE: I DO NOT OWN ANY OF THE CHARACTERS FROM MATANTEI LOKI RAGNAROK, I AM JUST FORCING THEM TO DO MY BIDDING.

Loki looked up startled from his cup of tea.

"Yamino, I believe the doorbell just rang. Could you get the door, please? Maybe it's that mystery Mayura's been expecting."

Mayura peeked out from behind her spiral glasses. "What? A mystery? Where?"

Yamino smiled. "Yes, Master Loki, I'll get it directly-" Mayura interrupted.

"While you're downstairs, Yamino, can you grab Spica some more cookies? She's still hungry." Spica nodded, agreeing.

Yamino nodded in return and left the room.

Narugami quickly raced to the door and called out "Bring me some more of this soup too, Four Eyes!"

Yamino's voice echoed up the corridor. "Yes, Narugami!"

Loki turned to Narugami. "Say, Narukami, shouldn't you be working?"

He grinned at Loki. "I'm only working mornings now."

Suddenly a crash came from downstairs. The crash was followed by silence, then Yamino's quavering voice.

"Master Loki? There's someone here who would like to see you."

Loki frowned, but pushed back his chair and stood up.

"Come on, everyone. Let's find out what mystery we have today."

Standing in the doorway, surrounded by bits of smashed glass and crockery, stood a young boy.

He looked about the same age as Loki, and his appearance was faintly similar.

The boy was downcast and stared at the ground, seeming embarrassed.

Yamino was holding the door open and as they came down the stairs he gave them a pleading look.

Fenrir pushed to the front and ran down the strange boy. He sniffed the air and suddenly stiffened, taking a step back.

"Va…..li….." he growled in anger and disbelief.

"Vali?" Loki repeated, stunned.

The boy's eyes rose. They were red. He met their eyes and slowly passed over each figure until they met on an equal level with Loki's.

Moistening his lips, the boy whispered "Father?"
