This was just a good excuse to not do AP Spanish homework. Let's face it, I'm a chronic waster of time.

Most of the time, she was absolutely certain she knew him inside and out. Seven years of marriage pretty much guaranteed that.

But other times, he caught her completely off-guard. Like today. A dozen tulips had been waiting for her at her office this morning, just because. He'd greeted her with a smile and a glass of wine when she got home, just because. He'd sent Damian to spend the night with Aunt Ginny and Uncle Harry, just because. He'd more or less coerced her into making love in front of the fireplace, just because. Before she'd been able to recover completely, he'd maneuvered them into their bedroom.

For once, he slept first. She lay in the dark, stroking his hair. "I love you," she murmured. "So much. I'm stupid about it, actually."

With a sigh, she nestled closer to him and closed her eyes.

Beside her, Ron smiled to himself.

He never slept first.
