Angel
"Hey Neji? Do you remember how we first met?" Tenten asked.
"Hn."
"Oh come on… its not like I asked you to kiss me or anything. Just answer the question."
"Yes."
"Is that all you're going to say?"
"Yes."
"Oh Neji you're no fun. Can't you just pretend to care that I'm trying to hold a decent conversation with you?"
"Fine. We met three years ago during the first big snow of the season." He gave a short nod as though to confirm with her that he knew exactly what he was talking about. "The angels were pouring the snow out of the clouds and you fell through the hole and into my arms."
"That's not exactly how I remember it. I don't remember any angels. And I know for sure I wasn't one of them. But I do remember it was really slippery and I slid on the ice, right into you. You weren't very pleasant about that then." Tenten stated with a small laugh.
Neji shook his head. "No I'm pretty sure you're an angel."
"How so?"
"Because one, your name means heaven so I figure that's the logical excuse. Two, is because I have heard you sing, you should sing more often. Three, only an angel could look as beautiful as you. And for my final answer of the day… because only an angel would've been able to stick around me this long without ticking me off."
"And so now you think I'm an angel?" Tenten asked.
"No, you're my angel. And I don't think anything I know."
"I don't remember you claiming me before."
"Well I am now. Not that it matters everyone already knew you were mine. Minus maybe you and Lee. Not that Lee matters in this situation."
"You can't just go claiming me Neji. I didn't consent to that. But also, it seems very strange that you came up with this all of a sudden."
"You want to be able to consent to being mine?" Neji asked. Tenten nodded. "Alright then will you marry me?"
For a moment Tenten looked as though she might pass out. After she finally managed to piece together what he had just said she nodded slightly. "Yes. Yes I'll marry you, Neji."
"Good." He said before capturing her in a very deep and passionate French kiss. Once they broke away panting for breath, Neji simply pulled a ring out of his pocket and slipped it on her finger.
"Now even Lee will have to be able to figure out what this means."
"He had better or I'll be forced to kill him when he touches you for longer than a seventh of a second." Neji replied seriously
"Neji you can't just go killing Lee he is our teammate after all. Besides he doesn't know not to touch a Hyuuga's property. He hasn't learned that much yet." Tenten said with a small giggle. "Even after all these years he hasn't learned that yet."
Neji smirked and then started to walk away.
"Hey Neji!" Tenten called. Neji turned so he was facing her. "I love you!"
"Hn."
"That had better mean I love you too, Tenten. Otherwise this engagement is so over."
"It does."
"It does what?"
"It does mean I love you too, Tenten. I love you more than air."
"Alright then. See you tomorrow. Same time and place. Right?"
"Yes." And then he walked away.
Authors note: I know that it didn't seem too romantic but I have some trouble imaging a not OOC Neji getting all romantic. I mean this was probably made him at least a little OOC anyway. But anyway please R&R. Did anyone think it was too OOC?
