Bowen slept and the dragon looked the sword over in the early morning light.
The sword was the same one Bowen had used to vow his service to him years ago, it had the scar to prove it. And that same loyal blade – a piece of steel crafted by human hands, feeble in comparison to a dragon – had been the weapon to take so many other dragons' lives.
Horribly ironic, Draco thought.
"What're you doing with my sword?" Bowen asked sleepily, suddenly.
"Nothing," Draco replied, pushing the blade over to the knight's feet in one swift flick of his wrist. "Take your knife back."
"Sword," Bowen corrected and sheathed his sword.
"Whatever."
