Alone

Hogie and Abby sat in front of the TV at the TEENS squad V HQ, bored out of their skulls. Not much had happened over the last fews days, no missions no babysitting, no brat activity at all. Nigel was out with Rachel, Fanny was with her brothers a some sibling pic-nic.She had moaned and complained about it, but at least she had something to do. Wally and Kuki came out of the kitchen, dressed up and ready to go.

"Hey," Abby said, "where are you two going?"

"Out," Kuki said.

"Movies," Wally said as he lead her out the door.

He spun around and gave Hogie a thumbs-up, who returned the gesture. Unforunatly Abby saw them and threw the magazine she was reading at him. WAlly quickly closed the door, the magazine bouncing of it and landing on the floor. Hogie chuckled.

"Want me to get that?" he asked smiling.

"Nah, Abby was done anyway."

Silence returened.

Hogie smiled the thought of Wallly and Kuki. Wally had only yesterday finally pulled up the courage to tell her exactly how he felt.

'It can't be that hard then,' Hogie thought, 'I mean, if Wally can do it then why the hell can't I?'

Suddely Abby asked something that caught him off guard.

"You had a crush on Fanny, didn't you?" she said.

"Wha-"

"Y'know, when we were still in the Kids Next Door," Abby said rather seriously.

"Well, yeah, I guess so," Hogie stammered, "back then of course."

Abby just nodded and turned her atention back to the TV.

After a few minutes Hogie spoke up.

"And you had, or have, a crush on Nigel, right?"

Now Abby was caught off guard.

"Wha-"

"Y'know, when we were still in the Kids Next Door," Hogie said mockingly.

"N-no, not at all," she said.

"Oh, please," Hodie said, "you have so got it in for the leader-hero type."

"No way."

"No, think about it," Hogie continued, "Nigel, Murice and just recently, Chad."

"How'd you know that?!" Abby asked, astonished.

"A little somehting I like to call, Kuki Sanban," Hogie said smiling.

"Alright, and if you don't drop it you are gonna meet a little somthing Abby likes to call her fist!" Abby said.

Hogie held his hands up defencevly.

"Hey, I'm just sayin'."

"What?" Abby asked, a bit irratated.

"That you got a huge crush on Nigel," Hogie said as he made a run for it.

"Thats it!" Abby yelled as she took off after him.

She chased him around the room until she got hold of his flowing overshirt, yanking him to the ground, where she got hold of his ear.

"Who does Abby have a crush on?" she asked mokingly.

"Ow,ow, no-one, no-one," Hogie said, pinned to the floor.

"And who do you have a major crush on?Hmmmm?" she asked.

Hogie grumbled somthing.

Abby yanked at his ear harder.

"Sorry what was that?"

"YOU!!" Hogie yelled out.

Abby let go.

"What?"

"You," Hogie said sounding defeated, "I have a major crush on you."

"Why didn't you..." Abby started to say.

"Because, I know you," he said, "I know that you're into the leader-hero type, and me being the dorky side-kick type, no chance."

Hogie just sat there, looking at the speechless Abby. He eventually got up and sat back down on the couch.

Abby got up and walked over to the couch, and to Hogie's surprise, sat down next to him, and to Hogie's greater surprise lifted his arm and snuggled up next to him, placing his arm over her.

"And what if I told you I was into the dorkey side-kick type," she said looking up at him and smiling.

Now it was Hogie's turn to be speechless.

From a window, five heads watched the scene unfold.

"Aww, its so sweet," Kuki said.

"Obvious, though," Rachel said.

"Obvious, not so much but defenitly not surprising," Nigel said.

"Ha! You owe me five bucks!"Wally said.

And no-one could hear what Fanny said as she dug into her pocket.
