A/N: Well, I don't exactly know how this came about… I just thought of the pairing Ikkaku/Isane one day and searched it on the site, and there were no fics! I DO realise it's a crack pairing... but, I was still surprise! So yeah, enjoy, and I hope you like the pairing!

Persistent Patients

Inuzuka Nin

Hearing shuffling from beside her, Kotetsu Isane looked up from her desk.

"Eh?! Ikkaku-san, you're up already?"

Said man blinked a few times, before the world around him came into focus. Seeing the woman seated at her desk beside him, he gave a grin.

"I'm never down for long, it's my rule."

The woman chuckled; it was typical for a man who loved fighting so much to heal so quickly. It was short lived however, as the man sat up and swung his legs round the side of the bed. The moment his feet touched the cool, tiled floor, she was at his side.

"Ikkaku-san! I appreciate you hate missing out on some of the action, but you're still in no condition to leave!" she scolded, pushing him back down by his shoulders. The man groaned, stuck out his bottom lip and turned the other way. Isane shook her head at his childish antics; he was supposed to be a grown man for heaven's sake!

A few minutes passed, and Isane sat back at her desk to resume her paperwork, but not without watching the 11th squad member out of the corner of her eye. Hearing more shuffling coming from his bed, she sighed and stood up.

"Ikkaku-san.. Please-" the lieutenant stopped mid-sentence to let out a yelp in reaction to the two strong arms that had found their way around her waist. "Ikkaku-san, what are you-"

She felt the man shrug.

"If I miss out on the action out there, then I'll just create some myself." She giggled at the stubborn man.

"Ikkaku-san…"

"I thought I told you not to call me that…" he sighed, then brought his head closer to hers, so their cheeks were touching. "Did you know that they say that a kiss is the greatest healer?.."

"I didn't know that, actually." She said, raising her eyebrows and leaning back against the man behind her. "I'm glad you're feeling better, though."

"I'm okay every time, nothing can bring me down, you know." he said arrogantly as he started to sway back and forth, moving her with him. She knew he was right, and had to silently laugh at the fact.

And so they stayed there, in the middle of the 4th division ward, together.

A/N: Whew, that took longer than I thought… Okay, so I know it's pretty cheesy, and it wasn't my best piece… But I like the pairing and I feel that there should be at least one Ikkaku/Isane fic out there…
