"Show yourself!" sneered Severus Snape as he casted a Lumos charm in the darkened hallway of Hogwarts. "It is past curfew and if you show yourself, I guarantee the repercussions will be less severe than when I find you!" With his wand guiding the way, Snape scanned the surrounding area, looking for signs of recent occupancy.
As Snape peered towards a darkened nook, his eyes rested on a moving shadow creeping further into the darkness. "Ah ha!" thought Snape, "I've him now." Feeling triumphant, the professor snaked towards his prey, targeting his wand towards the shadow and murmured:
"Petrificus Totalus!"
But just as the spell was cast, a deafening crack was heard originating from the nook and echoed along the empty hallway.
Slightly perturbed, Snape glanced down and looked where a person was situated just a moment before. He saw evidence of at least five empty candy wrappers strewn on the floor.
"Dammit, Albus, you know the rules! You are not allowed apparating in hide-and-go-seek because you are the only one who can do it within Hogwarts!" bellowed Snape, allowing the message to echo throughout the school in hopes Dumbledore would hear.
All of a sudden, Albus Dumbledore apparated in front of Snape, knocking himself to the floor with surprise. Tossing his friend a lemon drop, which landed unceremoniously on Snape's forehead, the headmaster winked and apparated again to a new hiding location.
"Bloody show-off," thought Snape, tossing the sweet treat in his mouth as he continued down the hallway in search of the cheating candy-crunching Headmaster. "This bottle of firewhiskey better be worth it."
