A/N: I, like many others, I don't doubt, wanted to see Harry and Ginny's reconciliation…but of course, it never came…so here's my opinion of what happened…enjoy.

Disclaimer: No! Of course, yes, I'm JK Rowling, writing FANfiction about my own characters, not making a penny from it, etc. Of course I don't frigging own Harry Potter, or anything within the series…

Harry was lying down against the old tree that he knew both his father and friends had favoured during their youth, and that he was now quite fond of as well. His eyes were closed, half asleep, facing the rising sun. At last, he could relax. He'd spent the last few hours either mourning, or celebrating, but finally, he was on his own, and he could simply relax, not a care nor a thought in his head. Until, that is, he heard a voice.

"Harry? Are you awake?" the voice asked, almost timidly. Harry smiled, but otherwise didn't move. Though he wanted peace, quiet, solitude at that moment, just so he could rest, if there was one person in the world whose company he wanted at that moment, it would be hers.

She was just about to walk away when he spoke. "Yes," he told her simply. Harry slowly opened his eyes to see Ginny smiling down at him, and she too settled down against the tree, and they both watched the giant squid floating past across the lake. Harry vaguely wondered why it had not been called in to help during the battle, but then once again stopped thinking entirely, until Ginny spoke once again.

"What are you thinking about?" he heard her ask. How appropriate. He inclined his head slightly towards her, and saw she was sat up against the tree, staring down at him intently.

"Honestly? Absolutely nothing," he replied truthfully. Ginny's lips formed the slightest smile.

"Fair enough," she said simply, and she turned to look out at the sun rising above the lake.

"It's a beautiful day," she commented. Harry inwardly sighed; he knew he was going to have to think for this conversation, but for her, he was more than willing to.

"It's a new world," he told her, sitting up, "A fresh start. He's finally gone, once and for all."

They turned to stare into each other's eyes, but still, neither one was yet willing to dare approach the topic why she'd come to find him.

"So," she soon said slowly, "what are you planning on doing next year?"

Though she didn't dare show it, Harry could make out that she was biting her bottom lip.

"I'm going to come back here, stay on for Seventh Year, at last," he told her, and she gave a sigh of relief, "I'm going to need my NEWT's to become an Auror, even after everything I've already done. What about you?" Harry asked, whilst Ginny let out a sigh of relief, and she smiled.

"I haven't missed too much of Sixth Year, and the only thing I might have need to do again would have been Defence Against the Dark Arts, but I think you just about covered everything I'd have needed to know there," Ginny told him, "so I'll move on to Seventh Year as well."

And with that, they fell silent once again, this time still looking at each other. After several moments, it seemed Ginny had decided they'd waited long enough, and she leant towards Harry, and planted her lips on his. But no sooner had they made contact than Ginny pulled away, but there and then, that was all they need; a plain and simple kiss, short and sweet. When their faces were a foot apart, she smiled at him, and he smiled back at her, before they both returned to their original positions, lying against the tree.

They continued to watch the rising sun set against the pristine lake for barely a moment, before Harry grinned as a certain memory returned to him.

""His eyes are as green as a fresh pickled toad, his hair is as dark as a blackboard…"" he sang. Ginny thumped his arm, but they then both fell apart with laughter.
