Random little musing I wrote for one of my new favorite pairings. Please tell me if you like it!

When you truly love someone, you love them with all of your senses. You see them, you hear them, but you can also taste their lips on yours before they ever connect, smell the scent of their skin no matter how far away they are, and feel their heartbeat synchronized with yours.

I truly loved Kuronue.

Sometimes at night, when I can't sleep because of another mission, or because of an exam, or my mother, I just remember him.

I remember how frazzled his hair looked when he just rolled off of the sleeping mat, usually right before a heist.

I remember him grumbling about "the evil, evil being that is the sun," and how he wished that it was always night because "there's more interesting things to do at night!"

I remember how his taste always lingered in my mouth—sweet and tangy. I'm slightly surprised that I can still remember it after all of these years, but I suppose I shouldn't be.

I remember how he always had a certain, indescribable musk about him. He smelled metallic, and dark, and a little like old leather.

I remember the first time we slept together, feeling his bare skin on mine as he caressed and held me gently, telling me how long he's wanted to, and how long he will.

I remember everything I can about Kuronue, because I know that it is only in the dark, and in the silence that exists right before I fall asleep that we can truly ever be together again.

Because I also remember, all too clearly, of not only seeing the blood run out of him, hearing his agonized screams, smelling death in the air…

But of feeling, in every fiber of my body, mind, and soul, the ceasing of that constant heartbeat…

And that is what causes my nightmares after I do finally sleep.

Goodnight, Kuronue. I love you.

Okay, yeah, I know demons don't have heartbeats according to the YYH anime, but... I liked that way too much not too.
